--- Neydisa Lude 1: Delving --- Session Start: Sun Mar 10 13:03:21 2002 --SESSION START-- >> A hush falls over the shadowed crowd as the curtains reel open, revealing a man's form standing just behind the spotlight. Poet: She sleeps, adrift on silent waters. She bears the yoke of ocean's daughters. She wishes little but to serve, Yet scarcely can for want of nerve. She has no hope save that she makes, Forever cursed by her mistakes. Upon this black sea, without friends, The flat horizon never ends. No choice remains except to pray; Mourn the priestess clad in grey. << Dear lord, that's sexy. ^^ >> >> The Poet inclines his head, and the curtains close to scattered applause. >> >> >> Bubbles burst from her mouth, rising towards the twinkling sunlight far above, and the water takes her, cold and still. Far below, the tops of wraithlike sea-plants undulate slowly with the slight movements of the water. «ooc: Go. » * Neydisa gasps a silent final breath of the air that was within her, and then gives herself over to the ocean's way. She revels in the peace it brings for several moments, slowly coming to awareness of just where she lay adrift. >> The waters are just beginning to dim at this level, leaving a vast dark depth beneath her. Far above, the shimmering spot that must be the sun shines through the fathoms. .o( Where do the waters and dreams take me... does it matter? Just away from the pain is enough for now... ) «ooc: keep going » * Neydisa rights herself in the depths, looking up. She pushes off with her feet as if from some invisible platform with a gentle and deliberate motion that carries her hgher towards the sunlight. >> She rises effortlessly, slowly ascending into brighter waters. Specks of sea-dust float suspended around her, drifting by as she rises ever higher. After a short time, her head breaks the surface, revealing nothing but an endless expanse of calm water. The sun shines brightly in a cloudless sky, bathing her in warmth. * Neydisa treds water without much thought, looking around at the surface. Water as far as she could see, and a stormless sunny sky. .o( This is so perfect... but why do I still feel disturbed? Is it because I'm alone here? ) >> In contrast to the waters below, the air is silent, without even the sloshing of waves to add noise. No birds or insects fly through the air, no seagulls cry from afar. «ooc: there are fish and stuff in the water. » * Neydisa sighs for a moment, and then drops below the water's surface in reflection. >> A twinkle of blue briefly lights up the darkness of the depths. * Neydisa refocuses her amber eyes on the blue twinkle that seems to permeate the water, turning with a slight ruffle of her blue hair. >> Gone again. Trick of the light? *** Lucca (~dinner@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #Warpg «ooc: You go! » «ooc: Bad! » «ooc: ;_; Okay. » *** Lucca (~dinner@staff.lunarnet.org) has left #Warpg << ^^; >> «ooc: No *major* spoilers, but I want to keep the dreams private for a bit. » .o( Something... is something calling? Where did you go? ) «ooc: again. » * Neydisa begins to swim skillfully in the general direction, it was an excuse to move somewhere... * Neydisa takes her time of course, the feeling of the water upon her was something she would not waste. Her eyes pass over a few fish that swim by. «ooc: fish look mostly normal...a few you don't recognize. » >> She begins descending once again. The light slowly fades as she plumbs the depths. After several minutes' steady descent, she reaches a point in the chilly waters where she must either allow herself to rise or continue into darkness. «ooc: BRB » * Neydisa slows, floating near the edge of the lightless waters, hesitating. .o( The deepest parts of this endless sea... I have the blessing, I can go there for answers. Yet I'm... afraid... will I be able to come back? ) >> The ocean offers no answer. * Neydisa shakes her head once, trying to push the thoughts away. .o( No... If there is anywhere I can be strong, it is here. I'm not going to disappear yet... not yet... ) * Neydisa keeps going farther down. << one moment ^^ >> >> The darkness flows all around her, until finally she loses sight of even the light above. In the blackness, up and down are less absolutes than vague ideas, and there is no way to tell what kind of progress she is making. * Neydisa slows down as she progresses, her natural guides fading away. The twinge of fear and confusion reasserts itself in her face, but she tries to hold it back. .o( So everything leaves me here... I only have myself, and the caress of Lucadia. I just have to keep going on faith.... I've always done so before...) «ooc: again. » * Neydisa moves a few more strokes before stopping again, then orients on a dim flash she thinks she sees, trying to make headway. >> The sound of movement reaches her ears as a ripple in the water passes her by. * Neydisa turns her head, trying to spot the object or at least it's wake. >> It's pitch black -- her vision is useless at this depth. * Neydisa takes a deep breath of the water, realizing her folly in trying to track it. But at least it was a sign of something here. * Neydisa turns her body slightly, shaking off the chill, and tries to move deeper once again. >> Suddenly, a light winks on in the deep -- a dimly glowing jellyfish, floating a short distance away. It's soon followed by one of its fellows, and another; gradually the water begins to glow with the luminescence of dozens of small jellyfish. * Neydisa snaps to attention. The peace begins to break. Now there is a hint of danger. .o( I don't know these types of fish... ) She begins to try her best to draw away from the lights a bit and measure their intent... << one second, the phone. ^^ >> << kay. :) >> >> The jellyfish float towards each other, mingling in a large mass until it's impossible to tell where one ends and the next begins. A pair of pale blue hands thrust out from within the mass, pushing away jellyfish enough to reveal a bald, androgynous figure. The creatures flow around him like gauzy robes, a mass of gel and wispy tendrils. «ooc: Well, him/her. Hard to tell.\ » << grr. screw Lauren. --; This is important to me. sorry. no more interruptions. ^^ >> «ooc: Hmm. Problems? » * Neydisa holds her distance, trying to make out the figure. Something deep within her screams. .o( Is it... happening again? ) *** mcgrue (mcgrue@warp.core.binghamton.edu) has joined #Warpg «ooc: No Grue! » OOC: <:O *** mcgrue (mcgrue@warp.core.binghamton.edu) has left #Warpg *** Gayo sets mode: +l 2 << there's only room in this ocean for one. ^^ >> * Neydisa begins to spur herself to motion away from the figure. >> The figure merely stares, unblinking, from glittering metallic-flecked eyes. It remains virtually motionless, though its organic raiments roil and flow around it. .o( You're going to haunt me again aren't you? Even in this place? ) «ooc: time passes, and so forth. » * Neydisa stares at it once she's at a comfortable range. She speaks into the water finally. "Are you what I'm looking for?" >> Finally, the figure takes action, responding. Its mouth never opens, yet a calm, sexless voice echoes through the waves of the deep. "What are you looking for?" * Neydisa is eased somewhat by the voice, righting herself to confront it face to face. Something I have lost long ago... Figure: Do you think that is what I am? Are you my will? Or my demons? Figure: I am simply watching. * Neydisa shakes her head, her tresses following a moment after it. "And I am simply running in circles. I lack the strength to keep running much longer..." Figure: Perhaps you should stop running in circles, then. I came here to try to do that. This is the only place I can look... Figure: Yet you have not succeeded. * Neydisa lowers her head. "Do you want me to give up?" Figure: Would you, if I said yes? ...if I give up, I'll die. Not in Lucadia's embrace, but in a pit of empty desire. Figure: Then why do you ask? * Neydisa shakes a moment, rubbing her bare shoulders. "Everyone has opinions... those I love, think I can succeed. There are others who do not... if you watch, what do you believe?" Figure: I do not. * Neydisa was not hoping for a yes, but these words seems to strike at her enough that it is noticeable, in the form of a silent moment from her end. >> The figure remains silent as well, not speaking unless spoken to. ...the problem is that somewhere within I agree with you. But is that me or is it someone else? The doubt I instilled within myself when I took the craven path. «ooc: Uh, I'm not parsing that. » << sorry ^^ >> << basically in a nutsheel, I basically agree that I'll fail, but that's because it's my fault for sowing confusion. ^^ >> Figure: If you don't think you have the power to complete your task, why attempt it? * Neydisa sinks back a bit. "Because if I don't try, then I will definitely fail. Both what I seek, and what I am will vanish forever. I made a promise to myself." Figure: Do you think you can keep that promise? I was always taught to keep one's promises. My body will break before my word does... Figure: It should be so. The Guardians have no use for weak servants. * Neydisa closes her eyes, takes another deep breath. "It's because of the Guardians I came this far. I have to try to make up for my sins. I can't disappear knowing that is undone... it spurs me on." Figure: You had best not rely on the strength of the Guardians to compensate for your own weakness. There will come a time when it will fail you. * Neydisa looks at the figure in a bold stare, then shrinks back. "You're right... but I've seen I am not worthless. I can do something for others. I can protect them. But I still fall so short, for all my good intentions..." That's why I'm still looking. I want to cast away that crutch that keeps me bound. It was my comfort, now it's my chain. -_- Figure: ...so...? * Neydisa sighs into the murky waters, the wave of her feelings receeding. << sorry again --; >> So... i can't fail. I failed too many already. I failed Amelia. * Neydisa makes a small fist. "If i fail myself, then it really is over." «ooc: BRB » << damn my is.. blerg :/ >> >> The figure begins to descend, its light fading. The jellyfish surrounding it slow their movements, then stop. "We will see if you have the power required, or if you are merely a weak, would-be servant. I will be watching." * Neydisa looks at it go, longingly. She doesn't give chase, though. .o( ...would-be servant... no, I'm not that. I won't be that. Nor a dead girl. ) >> Eventually, the darkness closes in again, and she is left alone in the chill waters to contemplate her fate. * Neydisa rests in the waters, gathering her strength, then makes a break for where the lighter regions may lay. .o( Maybe I haven't looked in the right places... the closest ones. ) >> As she ascends, the sea lightens and fades. Her eyes flutter as another world calls to her to awaken. --SESSION END-- Session Close: Sun Mar 10 18:38:49 2002
