--- Katia Lude 3: Compass in the Dark --- Session Start: Thu Jan 10 20:25:14 2002 --SESSION START-- >> Katia stands outside Abraxas's office, alone this time. The visions of the day before are vague and harder to remember now, but the sensations they conveyed are as clear as when she first felt them. * Katia lightly knocks on the office door. Abraxas: ...yes? It's me, Katia, you wanted to see me again..? Abraxas: Katrina, yes. Come in. * Katia opens the door and enters the familar office >> Abraxas is scratching away at his documents, just as he was when she left him. The only pauses come when he stops to dip his pen. Um.. Docter? <> Abraxas: Yes? What are we going to do this time? To get back my memories I mean Abraxas: Shut the door, please. *scribble* More of the same. Difficult cases can take several treatments to fully draw out. * Katia closes the door "I see..." Abraxas: I don't suppose any tumblers turned since yesterday? uh... I'm not sure what you mean. Abraxas: *sigh* Did you remember anything else? No. Abraxas: Right, then. * Katia stands in silence, wondering what to do next. Abraxas: ...sit down. * Katia sits down on a nearby chair. « *unlocks the tumblers in Katia's mind with the key of imagination* *twilight zone theme* ^^ » >> The doctor sets down his pen, lifting and rotating his chair to face hers. "Are you ready?" * Katia takes a deep breath, lets it out and nods >> He lifts two spread fingers to her face, and they begin to glow faintly. "Watch the light." * Katia does as she is told >> The lights grow brighter and brighter...they seem to bore a hole into her brain. There's a flash, and she loses consciousness.\ >> Katia is in the dark again. All around, chilly and shifting like water. * Katia listens to the sound of the water, wondering >> Far off, two points of light shine. * Katia looks toward the lights, slowly she makes her way towards them, wondering if something is there >> The lights seem to draw closer to her, rather than she drawing closer to them. * Katia stops walking, and waits for the lights to come to her. >> Two eyes stare at her from the void. Dim points of light, yet they burn like the sun. * Katia blinks at the eyes "Who..?" >> The eyes neither blink nor falter. They simply gaze straight ahead, looking right through her. * Katia gazes at the eyes "Who are you?!" >> A blue glass ball drops between her and the phantom pair of eyes, cracking and splintering into a million pieces. The eyes blink and vanish. Unceremoniously released from suspension, Katia collapses onto a hard, glass-strewn floor. «ooc: it's still all dark » * Katia collapses to the invisible ground. * Katia she picks up one of the shattered pieces of glass and looks at it for a moment. >> A light breeze brushes past her, carrying whispers. I... am different from the rest...? ...I don't...but.. I want to know * Katia stands up, letting the breeze blow through her. *** Ashton (swordianma@lsanca1-ar7-4-35-216-193.elnk.dsl.gtei.net) has joined #warpg <> «ooc: Windstar, I did not want to be invited. » «ooc: Why did you invite me? » <> «ooc: Ashton wants to be alone. » >> A tall man stands before her. His body is aged but strong, draped in embroidered robes of fine silk. «ooc: Yes and no, Gayo » *** Ashton (swordianma@lsanca1-ar7-4-35-216-193.elnk.dsl.gtei.net) has left #warpg >> The man's silvery beard sways gently in the wind, brushing over strange, animal-like ears. <> * Katia studies the man a bit. Who are you? *** Storen is now known as GMStoren «ooc: Huh, SoM lude?\ » « nope, i have all my little FF etsters together so why not. I'm still watchin' though ^^ » >> He opens his eyes. Cold and emotionless, but full as full of power as a pair of smoldering stars. He does not speak. Interesting...what do you mean? Man: ... * Katia blinks at the comment "How can I be nothing..?" .... >> He grunts softly, looking away briefly. She realizes that she hadn't been breathing while under his stare. "How can you be anything, little girl?" ...I... * Katia pauses I don't understand. Man: Hmph. Is this the best technology has to offer? What a sad state of affairs... What does technology have to do with this? Man: Nothing but a toy...I expected more. ...that noise... What do you mean? Why are you speaking so vaguely? Man: Do you really want to know? You may not like what you see. .... I I want to know. >> One hand snaps out and grabs her chin with lightning speed, jerking it upwards to stare into his endless, soulless eyes. Her head seems to burst with pain, and she collapses amidst a thousand whirring, flickering images. <> >> People rush around her, slowing as they cross her field of vision and then vanishing in a blur. A thousand pinpricks of agony blossom all over her body. The roar of machinery echoes like endless thunder in her ears. * Katia wailing, wraps her hands around body in pain and tries to block out the thundering noise. >> White light glistens off sterile steel implements, flashing in her eyes. Her body is deconstructed and reconstructed a thousand times while, all around, people and machines rush by too fast to see. >> Katrina... «ooc: er... » >> "Katrina..." ...Who? >> Katrina? >> She snaps awake. One leg is still partially entangled in the office chair, but she is now lying on the floor. Abraxus is kneeling over her, pinning her wrists to the ground with what appears to be considerable difficulty. The front of his robes are torn. * Katia blinks a couple times, before realizing her situation Wha-what happened? >> He releases her, straightening himself and embarassedly fiddling with his torn robes. "You went into a severe seizure. Terminating the augmentation had little effect." *** Lucca (~dinner@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #warpg <> «ooc: ;_; » I-I see... S-sorry Abraxas: ...yes. I, er, believe we're through for today. I need some time to...consider. *he frowns, sitting down and stroking his chin* Did you remember anything? * Katia goes over the events that happened in subconscious. "N-no...not this time." Abraxas: That's...odd. It's all very...odd. Hurm. I see. I think it would be best if we discontinue treatment until further notice. I'll need to see you again... I...understand. ...I have a question... Abraxas: Don't we all. A couple years ago, was there a baby left at the front door to the Abbey? Abraxas: A couple...*he squints, thinking* I certainly don't recall anything of the sort. Sorry. I see.... Well then, I guess I should go now? Abraxas: ...indeed. * Katia leaves the doctor's office and quietly shuts the door behind her. >> The doctor shiverins involuntarily. He slides his chair back to his desk and begins to write. >> He reaches over and dips his pen, but as he withdraws it, the pen upsets the inkwell, splashing ink across his papers. >> As the ink drips off the edge of the desk, he closes his eyes and sighs. --SESSION END-- Session Close: Fri Jan 11 05:21:36 2002
