--- Katia Lude 2: Haze --- Session Start: Sat Dec 15 19:16:22 2001 Abraxas: Yes, yes, come in...sit on the bed, if you will...*points without turning* * Katia does as she is told and nervously sits on the bed. <> «ooc: Oink. » Doctor: ...are you staying? Quillenne: Would you rather I did, Katia? Uhm... no I think I'll be all right. Quillenne: All right then, I'll see you later. *smiles, leaving and closing the door quietly* >> ... <> «ooc: More like the castle, but eh. ;) » >> The doctor's pen scratches slowly away in the silence. * Katia just waits .... Abraxas: Katrina, yes? No last name? I don't remember if I had one. Abraxas: Katrina...Doe. Very well. Memory loss? Uh.. yes Abraxas: Stemming from...? I don't know. Abraxas: Mmhm. What's your earliest memory? About a year ago. Abraxas: ....and? Umm...it was raining... I was lying on the ground... in some city. I don't know if I injured...I think I was. Abraxas: How, specifically? <> <> «ooc: hang on, I think I have it handy. » «ooc: nah, i've got it. One sec. » How was I lying on the floor? Well... I think on my side... I think I was putting pressure on my arm because it was hurting...or was I...? Abraxas: I see. *scribble* Where was this? .... Can't remember... It was dark.... Abraxas: ...well, what happened after? Well I got up and...I went... searching Abraxas: And you didn't discover what city you were in, or what area of the world? No... Abraxas: How did you arrive here, then? Well I...met Darrin at a waystation, and journyed with him. Abraxas: Darrin, yes. Very well, then. Do you have any distinguishing marks? «ooc: You're probably in robes or something right now, incidentally, since you only have one change of clothes. » <> No... no markings.... Abraxas: Any possessions on your person when you first awakened? Just the clothes I was wearing. Abraxas: Which were...? Black...something like a gymnist would wear, but it was padded for mild protection in fights. <> Abraxas: Combative...I see. *scribble* Is there anything else I should know before we begin? hmm... well....I seem to have the ability to see short ways into the future. And some augmentive abilities. Abraxes: *chuckles* Do you? Yeah... but they aren't very clear... Abraxas: I don't suspect you could demonstrate these oracular capabilities? Well, my sight seeing I don't think I can show you but... I can do this. <> «ooc: pose it » >> He glances at her for the first time, revealing an angular, scrutinizing face. * Katia stands up, her body flickers and blurs briefly, standing beside her is another copy of herself. Abraxas: Well, that's very nice. *lifts his chair and turns it to face her* Sit down. * Katia sits down, the mirror form vanishes. >> He lifts one hand, conjuring a tight, dim beam of light, which he points at her eyes. "Look at the light." * Katia does so, squinting her eyes a bit. >> He peers into her eyes. "Abnormal coloration." Moving his hand slowly from side to side, he watches her eyes follow the light, then dispels it, writing something on a clipboard. Umm, what does that mean? >> He ignores her, opening a drawer and withdrawing a reflex mallet. "I'm going to give your knee a tap here." * Katia nods. >> He gently but firmly raps her knee with the thin end of the mallet. * Katia kicks instantly. Abraxas: Good, good. >> He replaces the mallet in the drawer, pulling out a small rubber ball. Abraxas: I've only seen that eye coloration a few times. *bounce, catch* I can't think of any correllation it might have to your situation, however. *scribble* * Katia wonders what the rubber ball is supposed to do. And then wonders why her reflexes were tested when that doesn't seem to be helpful in restoring her memory. Really? What kind of people have had it before? Abraxas: No one you would know, I imagine. It seems to be an anomaly. Perhaps a deformation. >> Suddenly, he throws the ball at an odd angle. It bounces off the wall and flies at Katia's stomach. * Katia catches the ball with her left hand before it reaches her stomach, almost as if by instinct. Abraxas: Hmm. Excellent. I have one more test I'd like to do before I'm through with the physical. Umm..,okay >> He rotates about to face her again, narrowing his eyes and looking at her intently. * Katia blinks curiously a few times. Abraxas: . . . Abraxas: *blinks, shifting position* Hmm. Were you exercising or performing strenuous activity before coming here? Here? To mean to your office or to the Abbey? Abraxas: Yes. «ooc: er... » <> «ooc: Abraxas: Here. *gestures slightly to their surroundings* » Abraxas: Here. *gestures slightly to their surroundings* «ooc: bugger » Umm, well when Darrin and I were on the road, we ran into a couple of monsters... Abraxas: This was yesterday? «ooc: actually the day before » <> Yes. «ooc: yes. eqhifewji Two days ago. » No...it was when we were heading to a mining town before we came here.. Drallen is the name of the town I think. Abraxas: Nothing since then? * Katia shakes her head "Nothing" W-why do you ask...? Abraxas: *picks up his clipboard, writing* «ooc: time passes » «ooc: as it is wont to do » * Katia starts to feel a little anixous with all the silence and waiting Umm... Abraxas: All right. *sets the clip board aside* Hmm? I-is there anything else? Abraxas: We haven't actually begun yet. Oh... Abraxas: Now. I'm going to attempt to stimulate your memories. If you haven't suffered damage to the memory centers of your brain, they should still be accessible. *** Mitsuo is now known as Mitsuo-away * Mitsuo-away is gone (I be back soon!) O-Okay... >> He lifts two splayed fingers to her eyes, and they begin to flicker. «ooc: er, the fingers » * Katia reacts slightly to the voices... * Katia ears perk in the direction of shuffling footsteps. <> * Katia fingers twitch to the sensations. * Katia 's body reacts to all the sensations. Swaying and moving her body as response to them. «ooc: Katia is a beatnik now » <> >> It's dark. <> «ooc: and quiet? » * Katia looks for a light switch. «ooc: Er, no light switches » <> «ooc: Ah » «ooc: OK, extrapolate what she would do from there. :P » * Katia tries to feel for walls or something to guide her hands through the darkness. >> Aside from the solid surface under her, she is surrounded by nothing on every side. * Katia stumbles through the darkness, wondering if she heads in one direction she might find some sort of exit. >> Whispers fade in and out around her, barely there. * Katia tries to make out the direction of where the whispers are coming from. >> They come from all around, almost becoming understandable before vanishing. * Katia tries calling out. Anyone there? >> No sound comes from her mouth. * Katia isn't sure what to do but to keep walking forward. >> Is it forward? It's impossible to tell. Her surroundings are so uniform that she could be standing still. Suddenly, a pale form drifts by. * Katia rushes up to the form. <> >> The figure doesn't get any closer, but in response to her exertion it turns to face her. It's a woman she's never seen before, ghostly white. * Mitsuo-away is back (AND SEE?) (gone: 38mins 51secs)) *** Mitsuo-away is now known as Mitsuo * Katia looks aghast somewhat to the woman "W-Who are you..?" >> No words come out, though she feels them leaving her lips. The woman responds similarly. There is no sound but the whispers of shadows. * Katia isn't sure what to do now. >> The form fades, and the whispers grow louder. * Katia tries to distinguish any words that she might understand from the whispers >> It's difficult to hear all the whispers at once...there are so many. However, she concentrates, and manages to isolate one. >> Gradually, all the whispers fade save the one she is concentrating on, and finally, it fades too, replaced with the whirring of a drill bit. * Katia is unable to tell which the direction of where the drill is coming from. * Katia keeps moving forward. >> "Is everything normal?" >> "Seems to be so far. We dodged that bullet." >> "Good, good. Keep me posted." >> The drill tip strikes something, boring loudly. «ooc: Er, from the sound anyhow » * Katia winces at the sound. >> *whispers* * Katia starts running. >> Her feet splash loudly with each step. Lightning splits the cloudy sky, and the rain beats down incessantly on her unprotected head. <> «ooc: you always could. you didn't know it. » <> «ooc: It's dark and rainy. Large, vague shapes loom on both sides, but you can't tell what they are from here. » «ooc: the ground is muddy. » * Katia stops, looking at her surroundings, and heads for one of the shapes. «ooc: be more specific. What shapes? » <> * Katia heads for large vague shape to the left of her >> She splashes through the mud, cold water freezing her legs, making her way to off the path towards the side. «ooc: BRB » * Katia wonders where this path leads. >> She runs up against a brick wall, rough and wet. «ooc: not runs INTO, just... » * Katia tries to feel her way around it. >> She sidles sideways, feeling her way along the brick wall. After a few meters, her legs give out from the numbing cold, and she collapses in the mud. * Katia tries to pull herself back up, failing, she pulls her legs to her chest and begins warming them with her hands. >> The mud clings to her skin, cold and painful. Rain beats down harshly, soaking her to the bone. * Katia shivers. >> Her entire body is a tightly wound ball of pain. The minutes pass like hours, until finally she lacks the strength even to sit, and collapses in the muddy water, darkness claiming her as her body slowly begins to freeze. She hears distant, approaching voices, and then succumbs to blackness. * Katia with barely any strength left, tries to focus in on what the voices are saying.... >> She strains with all her might, but is powerless to stop her mind's spiral into oblivion. >> . . . >> It's dark. <> <> <> >> Her hands tingle softly. «ooc: Er, Her == Katia's » * Katia twitches her fingers... feeling the warmth returning to them. >> Overhead, the examining room's one magical light glows dim and blue. * Katia opens her eyes slowly straining her eyes as the light fills them. <> «ooc: time passes » <> «ooc: yeah » «ooc: you'e back in the room, lying on the bed, but it's very dim. » * Katia looks at the light for a long while, fasinated with it as the blood flow in her body slowly begins to warm her up and return her senses. * Katia sits up and looks around. Finding herself back in the doctor's office. >> No one is around. * Katia climbs off the bed and looks around the office. «ooc: it's an office, etc » * Katia wonders if the doctor left the clipboard he was scribbling on in the room. >> The clipboard isn't visible. * Katia walks to the exit of the office and tries to open the door. >> The door is locked, but unlocks when she turns the handle. Outside, the halls are almost completely dark, most of the lights off and those that are on very dim to conserve mystic energy. « even in a magical world, the bills are high. :) » * Katia assumes its rather late in the night and decides to creep to the outside balcony to get some fresh air. >> She walks through the empty halls, climbing the stairs. She passes one or two people patrolling the corridors, but they don't notice her. * Katia finds it a little strange that the patrols don't notice her. She decides to speak to one of them before heading up the the balcony. >> The man passes by her, ignoring her attempts to initiate conversation. Umm... hello? * Katia taps on the man's shoulder. >> He walks on, ignoring the touch. * Katia gets a little scared "Wh-what's going on..?" * Katia heads for Quillenne's room. >> She returns downstairs, eventually arriving at the Harpers' door. It's soundly locked. * Katia knocks on the door. >> . . >> No response. Umm...Mrs. Harper? I need to speak to you for a moment. >> Silence. * Katia tries Darrin's room. «ooc: it's connected. » «ooc: all part of one unit. » «ooc: So, this door leads there too. » <> * Katia begins to feel a little worried and scared. * Katia heads upstairs to the balcony, maybe someone is up there. >> Looking down, she sees a small group of people outside. * Katia heads back downstairs and toward the door the leads outside where the group of people are. >> There's a cluster of Abbey guards standing in the grass, surrounding something. A few have weapons drawn, and one is kneeling./ What's going on...? >> They don't reply. What happened? * Katia squeezes past one of them to see what it is they're facing. >> On the ground is a small basket covered in a blanket. * Katia looks around for anything else. «ooc: nothing » * Katia creeps over to the basket. >> A sleeping baby is curled in the basket, its head visible where the blanket is folded over. Wh-what's a baby doing h-here...? >> The kneeling guard runs a hand across the baby's face, then lifts the basket with a stern expression. The cluster of guards return inside without a word. * Katia looks to the guards "What's going on...?" >> No response. * Katia follows them inside. >> She steps into complete darkness and the doorway behind her shrinks away. Someone whispers in her ear, close yet with no warmth of breath. .oO(Is this a vision of the past...?) * Katia listens to the whisper. >> The voice whispers softly in words she doesn't understand and can't quite make out. It sounds vaguely familiar. That voice.... >> She awakes from her trance with a start. Abraxas lowers his hand. Abraxas: Do you feel any more lucid? <> «ooc: uhm... » «ooc: Clear. ^^ » «ooc: Does Katia know? » <> <> <> * Katia blinks a few times «ooc: er, what it meant. Nevermind. » It felt like a dream...or a vision. Abraxas: Yes, yes, good. Do you remember anything more? «ooc: You remember what happened in the trance, that's it. » ...I saw some guards outside the Abbey late at night there was a basket... In it was a little baby. Abraxas: Is that all? Before that... there was a lot of noise, whispering...and I was running through the rain. Abraxas: But you haven't fully regained your memories, I take it. No.... But there was a voice, it sounded so famaliar.... Did something happen here several years ago? Abraxas: Yes, I think it's a fair bet that "something" happens here with regularity. *turns his chair around, dipping his pen and writing* Come again at the same time tomorrow. Umm... okay... * Katia leaves the doctor's office. «ooc: did you close the door? » * Katia closes the door on her way out. <> >> The incomprehensible words echo quietly in the back of her mind as she makes her way back to her room. .oO(I wonder...was that child...was that child me...?) --SESSION END-- Session Close: Sat Dec 15 23:31:05 2001
