--- Hikaru/Ellena Lude 1: You'll Never Be Alone --- Session Start: Sat Jun 29 19:17:46 2002 Heh! And Ellena is currently wearing either a) hikaru's hat or b) the bandanna the Pastels got her. She lost her old one on Malduc. Like hell she's wearing the pastel's smiley face hanky ;) That's just as attention grabbing as her ears ;) She'll have to wear the hat then. *nod* Unless she's arranged something else. It's a bad idea to wear the hat long-term. No probs with that. 2--SESSION START-- >> The sitting room is well-maintained, but dingy with dirt and wear that no amount of cleaning can remove. Hikaru and Ellena are the only ones there as they sit to await breakfast. The air is crisp despite the proximity of the desert, and it seems despite the light as though morning is a long way off. * Hikaru yawns a little and runs his fingers through his hair, combing it as much as he usually does.. mumbling quite incoherently. * Ellena rubs the kinks out of her arms as she pours herself a cup of tea, "'Karu...would you like some tea? It's not much...but..." Mnh. Nah, s'okay. More of a coffee person. «ooc: *notes to herself that this is a RPG! You cannot trust the tea. Never trust the tea.* » Oh...all right. «ooc: "Not if it's bitter." "BUT IT'S GOOD FOR YOU" » * Ellena sighs a bit and flumps down in her chair, taking a small sip from the cup, "...Is there anything we need to do before we set out?" ...not that I can think of.. Are you okay, 'Lena? >>The low sun provides only a dim, chill light as the proprietress enters with their plates. She's a stern lady, with every inch of her generous frame held tightly in place by severe clothing. She sets two plates of toast and eggs down on the table, lingering a moment to give the two mistrustful looks. O «ooc: Ack! ^^ EVIL » * Hikaru glances at the lady, very nonplussed. "Thank you." * Ellena tries not to let the stern lady phase her, but still looks a bit put off, "I'm...okay." * Hikaru frowns a little, worried, but lets it drop, instead grabbing some toast and gnawing on it. * Ellena digs into her eggs, "Just getting ready for what we have to do. It won't be easy no matter what the outcome..." >> The matriarch turns and leaves silently for another part of the house. Are you sure you're up to it..? * Ellena smiles softly, "Can anyone ever be truly ready for such a thing? But I'm as ready as I'm going to be." * Hikaru nods, brushing his hair out of his eyes.. "Just remember that I'll be right next to you if you need me." I know. >> Rayle drifts in a moment later, his fur puffed out from the cold air. "'Ad me a bit of a look 'round. Looks like nothin' special's goin' down yet -- we'll prolly be safe 'ere fer th'time bein'." * Hikaru blinks and nods before pausing. "...yet?" «ooc: Mmm...Celticish music... :) » * Ellena frowns slightly, peering into her teacup as if it held something within. «ooc: no tealeaf reading plzkthx » >> Rayle settles atop an untreated mantel, picking at a mat in his fur with his teeth. "Mm...yeh...well...only a matter o'time, ain't it?" ......You have a point. * Hikaru rolls his eyes and lets out a soft sigh. I suppose it can be expected...But...we can't let that stop us, right? Yeah, we can't.. I just wish trouble would stop following me for a while. Just remember that I'm here for you too. :) «ooc: Until we're savagely seperated by PLOT! *thundercrash*...*innocent smile* » * Hikaru nods, smiling a little finally. "I know. But I think I can handle it.. it's just annoying." That I won't argue with. Rayle: So you chums gonna 'ave a butchers after breakfast, or we 'eadin' straight away? * Hikaru stalls a little, trying to figure out what exactly Rayle just said. "Uhh... I think we're heading out straight away.." Rayle: Where exactly are we 'eaded, any'ow? Ain't really been payin' much attention. «ooc: Hmm, Gayo, where did we decide Benton's old place was? THAT I don't remember. I assume we're doing that first, unless Hik needs to be a man! » «ooc: Eh? O_o » «ooc: I dunno either man ^^ » «ooc: Nono, what do you mean by "needs to be a man"? » «ooc; It's to the east of the city, near the desert. » «ooc: You know, go after Gaia co! Be a man! In an action movie! With special eff...okay I stop now. » The outskirts, I think you told me? * Hikaru looks to Ellena for confirmation. «ooc: ...At least I'm not Tom Cruise » * Ellena nods a little, "East...near the desert." Not too far away. Rayle: Tch. No city life fer this fella, then. * Ellena smiles a little, "It wasn't much of a place, true...but it was home for a while. A...nice home." * Hikaru nods, finishing off his breakfast and brushing a few crumbs off his cloak. * Ellena finishes off her tea and eggs and stands up, adjusting Hikaru's cap, "Well, shall we be off?" * Hikaru lets out another yawn and nods. "Sure." Rayle: No rest fer the weary. * Hikaru nods and adjusts his scabbard on his belt, not wearing his cloak at the moment due to the highly not-cold climate of Rosetta. «ooc: Actually IT IS COLD HIK ;) » «ooc: :D » «ooc; It's sorta cold, but in general it's nothing as cold as adlehyde. » «ooc: Ah, okay. » «ooc: Compared to Arctica? There's not even any snow! » «ooc; Mostly it's just cold in the morning and night. » «ooc: Ah, so it's california, then! >:D » «ooc: Northern california. » >> Rayle settles onto the brim of Hikaru's hat, which currently graces Ellena's head. The hat tilts to one side slightly under his weight. «ooc: So Cal is hot in the morning and night and EVERY TIME ELSE » * Ellena blinks a little and notices the hat tilting a bit, "...Er.." * Hikaru sweatdrops and pats Ellena on the shoulder.. "Should be okay.." * Ellena shrugs it off, since it's doubtful her ears are showing, "I know...you just can't be too careful." ...Actually, I bet Shane'd say that you could. ^^; * Ellena frowns a little at the mention of Shane, "...Yeah, he probably would..." * Hikaru sighs a little and looks down. "Sorry. I forgot how much that kind of thing upset you.." No...I'm not really upset...I just worry about him, is all...I worry about everyone. They'll be fine, Ell. I hope so. >> Rayle: They all gots their 'eads screwed on straight. And anyway, we all got quid fallin' out o' our behinds right now. «ooc; Er, with no >> » Yeah. C'mon, El.. Sorry! Yes, let's go. «ooc: ...I ALMOST ^^;ed, but I resisted! I am happy. » «ooc; I also am happy. » «ooc: I am purple. » «ooc: Happiness for all. But not enough purple. » >> The proprietress is no less suspicious as she accepts Hikaru's money. "Have a good day," she offers curtly as she counts the coins, absentmindedly stacking them into neat piles by denomination. * Hikaru nods and exits the building.. "Jeez.. some people.." * Ellena shakes her head, "Perhaps she's had a hard life..." * Hikaru mumbles. "We could show her what a hard life is like." Don't, 'Karu...let it go. >> Rosetta is a dismal place, soot-stained and seedy, but there's a certain vitality to it that Adlehyde lacks. Even early in the morning and several miles from the city proper, the streets bustle with activity and noise. «ooc: It's like the Disneyland of Adlehyde. » . o O ( ...It's still the same. So huge...and so... ) * Ellena sighs a little, keeping her eyes from wandering too much, as she follows Hikaru. So energetic.. it's wierd to see a city like this.. after Adlehyde and Arctica.. * Hikaru shakes his head and muses to himself as he walks along. It may be energetic...but it has it's dark side too. All places do. >> The streets are full of booths selling knickknacks and random articles of suspicious meat. A few card sharps are running scams on roadside tables. This town, especially... * Hikaru mumbles.. "...Seems like the criminals here want your money more than they want your life, like in Adlehyde.." Rayle: Still. A bloke could prolly live real nice 'ere. Sometimes it's not about money...It's about not showing your true face...harming those that are slightly different than you...and greed, yes. It's hard to live in a town like this...not unless you play by those rules. «ooc: Add a 'not just about money' in there :) » * Hikaru nods, speeding up a little.. "Let's hurry, Lena.." Right... * Ellena does her best to speed up, keeping close to Hikaru so they don't become seperated. * Hikaru keeps close to Ellena, too, having a bit of a protective demeanor.. «ooc; Heading out of the city directly, or will you be commissioning transportation? » «ooc: Depends how far the house really is by foot. » «ooc; Hmm. 20, 30 miles. » «ooc; You can certainly make it in a day, but it's a fair bit of walking. » «ooc: I'd say transportation, you, Lucc? » «ooc: why not. :) » «ooc: Hold on a second. » «ooc: I might be getting guilttripped into helping someone move furniture --; » «ooc: Ah, fun! :o » «ooc; If need be we can finish another time. » «ooc: *nodnod* » «ooc: *nod* Might need be. Sorry. :\ » «ooc; For sure, or should we wait to see? » «ooc: For sure. --; » «ooc: How long will it take? If it's like, an hour, I can wait :) » «ooc: I'm going to a relative's house. Whenever I go to a relative's house, it's NEVER an hour. :P » «ooc: I likely won't be back till after midnight. :P » «ooc: Okay then, so we'll just finish another time? » «ooc: I guess. » «ooc: Kay then :) » «ooc; Hmm. Ah well. Nothing to be done about it. » *** ChanServ sets mode: +o Gayo «ooc: *turns her logging off* » Session Close: Sat Jun 29 20:21:11 2002 Session Start: Wed Jul 03 23:09:05 2002 Session Ident: #warpg * Logging #warpg to 'current\WARPG\Hikaru-Ellena lude 1 - You'll never be alone....log' Lucca will probably log. Kay I'm logging. Me too :) Wee. Double-logged for her pleasure. All right, guess you guys have no need of a pest tonight. So I'm off! * Hikaru nods, speeding up a little.. "Let's hurry, Lena.." Right... * Ellena does her best to speed up, keeping close to Hikaru so they don't become seperated. * Hikaru keeps close to Ellena, too, having a bit of a protective demeanor.. *** Windstar (mikemccart@cs24243242-235.austin.rr.com) Quit (Quit: If I have wings, why am I always walking?) *** Gayo changes topic to 'Hikaru/Ellena Lude 1: You'll Never Be Alone... | Rosetta |' 2--RESUME!-- «ooc: Okay, do you have any desc, or do we keep going? » «ooc; Nah, just keep on. » «ooc: Hmm, what to saay... ^^ » «ooc: I dunno. ^^; » «ooc; ... » Is this fast enough, 'Karu? «ooc; Well, you haven't really posed doing anything yet. So you can do that. » ..Uh.. I kind of meant in general. That doesn't mean we have to run like we're late or anything.... that'll just bring attention to us, 'Lena. * Ellena looks a touch embarrased, "Er, yes, you're right." * Hikaru ehehs, nervously. >> Rayle clambers to the tip of Ellena's hat, hanging on with all four paws and looking around. His nose twitches each time the pair passes a stand selling food. Sorry, Rayle...I think when we find our transportation I'll have time to rummage through my bag to see if I have anything you'd like to eat...if you're still hungry of course. :) * Hikaru frowns a little and gnaws on his lip. "'Lena?" Yes? ...Am I the only one feeling like something's not right? * Ellena begins to frown herself, "I...I don't know..." * Ellena shakes her head and looks as if she's concentrating on something. Sorry.. I didn't mean to kill what decent mood we had.. * Hikaru promptly keeps quiet and lets Ellena concentrate/. Rayle: (q) Ow yer mean, 'Ik? «ooc; ...hee. Ow, you're mean! » I dunno. It just feels off. Like something happened. ...I don't sense anything amiss, 'Karu... * Hikaru shakes his head. "It's probably just me. C'mon." Rayle: Best get out o' 'ere soon's we can, then... I agree on that... >> The two come to a commercial stable, where horses and wagons can be rented. Lena.. are there any landmarks or anything near his house so we can give them a destination..? Not...really. No. The desert looks mostly the same no matter where you go. Hmm. I do know of a backroad there, but everything looks so similar on it...and it's not used much...It's easy to get lost. Can you lead the driver, then..? I might be able to. * Ellena smiles a little, adjusting Hikaru's hat slightly. >> Inside the stables, the air is thick with the scent of manure and mildew. A short, thin man, pale and speckled with liver spots, sits in one corner with an unbound penny dreadful. «ooc: With a what? » «ooc; A book, essentially. An unbound book. » «ooc; A lot of books are sold with no binding to save money. » «ooc: The unbound penny dreadful of the Ya-Ya sisterhood. Indeed, dreadful. » «ooc; ...gleh? » «ooc: ^^ nothing. Just hearing my mom go on about that book... » «ooc: It's made be bitter! :D » «ooc; The Bitter of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood! How 'bitter'! » «ooc: ...gleh? ;) » * Hikaru walks up to the desk. "Hey. How much is it to get a wagon for about... mh.. 'Lena, you think three hours is good?" It should be enough... >> The man looks up from his book, but does not stand. "Rentals by the day only," he responds bluntly, his bristly moustache bobbing up and down with each word. ...Fair enough. How much? Man: 200 per day, plus any expenses. The driver won't push the horses, and if it gets time he'll turn 'round. «ooc; You've got around 600 altogether. » «ooc; ...6000 » That doesn't sound so bad... >> The stablemaster grins broadly. "Best rates in town, miss. You won't find any better." * Hikaru nods and puts down 200 gella on the table. >> The man lays his hand over the coins and draws them across the table, sliding them off one at a time into his other palm. This done, he looks out the back door of the stable and hollers, "'EY, JIMMY!" * Ellena jumps a little at the shout. * Hikaru flinches back a little, casting a worried glance to Ellena. >> A filthy, thickly-muscled young man enters the building, wiping his hands on a cloth dirtier than he himself. "Ey, boss?" Stablemaster: Got a rental. *cants his head sharply towards Hikaru* One day, paid. Don't let 'em give you the runaround, eh? * Hikaru suddenly realizes why these are the 'best rates in town'. Jimmy: No, boss. *hangs the cloth over the side of a stall and juts his hand out towards Hikaru* I'm Jimmy. Wagon's out back. * Hikaru nods. >> The lad stands there a moment before thrusting a thumb over his shoulder. "I'll get the horses set up. You two can wait in the wagon if you like." «ooc; BRB » Okay...thank you very much. * Hikaru glances at Ellena and nods. «ooc; back » >> He skips out back, from whence come sound of reins and saddles being attached . «ooc; Actually, I suppose there wouldn't be a saddle. Doh. » «ooc: Jimmy's inbred perhaps ;) » ...well, I guess we should go out there, Lena. I guess so. I hope the wagon is all right. It should...it better be. We'll get there...I'm sure. It's just how hard it may or may not be is the problem. Yeah. * Hikaru starts out to the back, fearing the worst. * Ellena follows Hikaru quietly. >> The wagon is dirty and old, but sturdy. It's plainly designed for cargo rather than passengers, but some passenger seats have been added. * Hikaru blinks, disbelieving. (q) "Well, it's not...that...bad..." It does have wheels...and a horse...and it moves. I think it's quite good. * Ellena smiles a little more. Rayle: Ain't no flyin' machine, but looks good ter me. * Hikaru nods a little. "Yeah, that's probably it. Stupid Bird spoiled me." Well.. * Hikaru opens up the door of the wagon and steps in, offering Ellena a hand up.. "Shall we?" * Ellena smiles and takes up Hikaru's hand, "We shall." >> Jimmy finishes hitching up a pair of burly horses and vaults into the driver's seat, taking the reins. "Ready anytime." * Hikaru calls out to Jimmy. "Same here." >> The interior of the wagon is separated from the front by a thin barrier, providing a measure of privacy. It smells slightly of mildew, and there are a few stray pieces of straw strewn about, but the seats aren't uncomfortable. >> Jimmy starts the horses trotting, and the wagon moves forward, crunching gravel and dirt beneath its iron-banded wheels. He steers it out of the stable lot and down the city streets. Through the small, glassless windows, Hikaru and Ellena can see a higher view of the same streets they were walking down moments before -- signs and shop awnings pass by, too quick to read. It's rather nice to ride through town instead of walk, huh? ...Definitely. >> The wagon rumbles slowly through the Alexandrian capital, and before long reaches the crossroads heading out of town. "Hey, which way?" shouts Jimmy from the front. * Ellena stares out the window, seeing exactly which way they're heading. * Hikaru glances at Ellena, waiting. Take a left! >> The unseen driver turns the horses in accordance with Ellena's direction, and the wagon travels down the left road, picking up speed as it leaves the city behind. * Hikaru just sits there, not exactly sure what to say or do. * Ellena smiles a little, watching the scenery go by. It's a little repetitive, but... It's a lot better riding through the desert than walking in it. >> The wagon bounces and jostles as it speeds down the lonely road into the distance. The view from the windows gradually shifts to scrubland; a tree becomes an exciting milestone. Yeah. I'm just nervous and high-strung for some reason.. otherwise I could enjoy it more, I think.. Why? I don't know. I couldn't sleep well last night.. Oh... Rayle: Post world-saving anxiety? * Hikaru chuckles. "Maybe." He has a right to be a little nervous, I'd say. But...we're okay for now. That's what matters, right? ...yeah.. Rayle: So El. 'Ooz this bloke we're lookin' for, anyway? * Ellena twiddles her fingers a bit, "He is...was...*frowns* a very good friend of mine. He helped me in the beginning, when I first came here..." >> "Ah." Rayle goes silent. I...just want to see what happened to him. Whether it's good or bad... * Hikaru remains silent, not knowing how to respond.. the sound of the wagon clattering against the ground being the only thing in the air for a bit.. Rayle: Y'sure? Sometimes it's better not knowin'. If she feels the need to know, it's better she finds out, Ray. It'd haunt her if she didn't.. I have to know...it hurts not knowing what happened to him. * Hikaru nods as Ellena all but agrees with him. I know it won't be easy...but I have to do it. * Hikaru sighs a little after another long silence, chuckling half-heartedly. "Well.. this is a bit awkward, huh..?" >> Rayle lays down on his stomach, laying his chin on crossed paws. The wagon rumbles on. The sun is high now, and the morning chill has given way to a dry heat. The wagon's interior remains cool, but spots of sweltering heat shine through the windows and form patches on the floor. Sorry, 'Karu...I just have a bit on my mind... It's not you, though...I really have to thank you two for coming with me. It's no problem, El. It's more important for you to tie things up than for me to, I think.. I don't know...I know you have your issues to resolve. I hope I can help you there, too. :) Rayle: Wind rat goes where the wind takes 'im. Ain't no big deal. Lena, you being around is help enough. You've kept me stable through the past month or so. I still appreciate it, Rayle. Thanks. >> Eventually, Ellena notices familiar bits of terrain -- a bush here, a rock there. Tall, stiff prairie grasses poke out of the desert sand. «ooc; I'll need to pause soon and pick up tomorrow or Friday, I think. » * Ellena smiles, but there is a slight nervousness to it, "We're getting close." «ooc: Kayo :) » «ooc: Alright. I'll probably be in the yard tomorrow around 7ish again » «ooc: Dunno what's going on tomorrow, we'll play it by ear :) » «ooc: Aight. » >> A decrepit, collapsed fence whisks by -- Benton's pig pen. The pigs are gone, and the pen is half-buried in sand and overgrown with scrub. * Hikaru blinks at the fence.. «ooc: We had pigs? Cool. » ... * Ellena looks down. * Hikaru blinks at Ellena's reaction and calls out to the driver. "Hey.. could you stop here for a second?" >> From the front, Jimmy shouts "Whoa there!" and the wagon pulls to a jerky stop. Gravelly sand crunches under Jimmy's feet as he hops down, coming around back to open up the back. * Hikaru steps out.. "Is this it, 'Lena..?" Jimmy: This isn't where ya wanted to go, is it? ...This is it, yes. * Ellena bites her lip. * Hikaru reaches back in and lightly touches Ellena's shoulder.. "Come on... you can do this.." * Ellena takes a deep breath, and nods. * Ellena begins to clamber out of the wagon. * Hikaru helps Ellena out and looks over the desolate farm. >> The two hop out of the wagon, and head towards Benton's farmhouse. 2--PAUSE!-- Aaaand I'm going to cut it there. Sorry this is taking so long. Okieday. NP. My fault, mostly. Session Close: Thu Jul 04 00:34:21 2002 Session Start: Thu Jul 04 13:23:09 2002 Session Ident: #warpg * Logging #warpg to 'current\WARPG\Hikaru-Ellena lude 1 - You'll never be alone....log' *** Ashton is now known as Hikaru 2--RESUME!-- >> The tiny farmhouse lies in a state of slight disrepair; it was obviously lived-in once, but has just as obviously been left unattended for years. ...It's so quiet here. >> The sand shifts around their feet as they approach, muffling the sound of their steps. A slight breeze sways the tall prairie grasses that dot the landscape.\ * Hikaru watches with a twinge of remorse, not saying anything. >> Rayle slides off Ellena's hat and hovers in midair, surveying the property quietly. I...guess I should go inside. * Hikaru nods, placing a hand on Ellena's shoulder. * Ellena heads to the door, and attempts to open it. >> The door swings open slowly with the agonized shriek of rusted hinges. A shaft of light pierces the dark interior. Dust floats suspended in the musty, old-smelling air. «ooc; Hey, I forgot I have music. http://warpg.rpgcafe.net/files/ellena.mid » How long has it really been since I left? Has it been this long...? «ooc: ... I have no idea whatsoever on what to say! :D » * Ellena takes a few steps inside, carefully. >> The interior of the house is almost a picture of order, but a few things have been moved out of place by a struggle. Everything is buried beneath a layer of grey dust. *** Gayo sets mode: +s * Hikaru blinks and sighs quietly.. "Looks like this place has been deserted since you left.." Yeah...but there's no sign of Benton either...did he leave, or did someone bury his body? «ooc: ...Ooh idea » ...... >> Rayle floats over to a far wall, picking at it. "'Ey, check this out." Hmm? * Ellena looks towards Rayle, "What is it?" «ooc: Or perhaps not ^^ » * Hikaru blinks and carefully steps towards Rayle, not wanting to disturb very much. "What, Ray?" >> Rayle digs a tiny metal disc from a bullethole in the wall: a metal slug, deformed from impact. Beneath the thick coating of dust, mildew and stain, there are three bulletholes in the wall. * Ellena nods a little, as if she's expecting this, "Before I was...taken away, I heard gunshots..." * Ellena steps up to the bullet holes anyway, peering closer. >> There doesn't appear to be blood surrounding the holes, but the walls are deeply stained from mold and water damage, making it difficult to tell. * Hikaru hrms and examines the holes as well.. "Maybe you weren't the only one taken away..?" ...Then...? There are a couple of more rooms. Let's keep looking... * Hikaru nods slowly.. >> Rayle follows along, dropping the spent bullet. It strikes the floor with a muffled 'whup', raising a tiny puff of dust. * Ellena heads to one of the other rooms, looking more confused as she goes. * Hikaru jumps a little at the whup as he follows along >> The other rooms prove much the same as the first. Rodents and insects skitter away from the intruders as they progress through the dead house. In the bedroom, a large box juts out from beneath the bed. Ellena recognizes it as Benton's gun box. * Ellena picks up the box and opens it, expecting it to be empty. >> One of Benton's guns is gone, but the other lies in silent abeyance awaiting its master. A shaft of light shines through one of the bedroom's broken windows, glinting brightly off the barrel. . o O ( One of his guns is missing...I know he must have used one...but where did it end up? ) «ooc; Time passes. » «ooc: The sun explodes? » ...There's one more room. Let's look there... * Ellena puts the gun box back into it's hiding place, and heads off once more. * Hikaru nods and follows after. >> The final room is the one Ellena slept in, once upon a time. The bed is soiled and moth-eaten. The only signs of life that remain are the rats that scurry from the invading light. ...This is my old room...Doesn't look like much of a room, does it? Better than my old place. Rayle: Well, issa fixer-upped. «ooc: ...upper » ...Hmm. * Ellena suddenly darts out of her room! «ooc: Scare hikaru! Scare him! » * Hikaru blinks, confused, and starts to hurry after Ellena. "Wait..!" >> Rayle spins around in place and bobs off in no particular hurry. * Ellena doesn't seem to hear Hikaru, but it appears she's gone into the main room of the house. * Hikaru enters the main room, pausing at the doorway. "'Lena?" Yes? What's wrong? * Ellena is glancing over a table filled with knicknacks and pictures. Nothing. I have an idea of sorts. I don't know if it'll work. * Hikaru blinks and walks over to Ellena. "An idea?" Yeah. A little trick I picked up. * Hikaru casts an odd look at Ellena, obviously not comprehending. * Ellena reaches down and picks up a small knick-nack off the table, and closes her eyes. «ooc: What are you taking, specifically? » «ooc: Not sure. Just like a figurine. » «ooc: OK, I'm doing this in-chan, but obviously only Ellena sees what's happening. Ellena, you don't need to speak out loud for this, but you can. » «ooc: You need to initiate. » *Hello? Can you hear me?* «ooc: I'm thinking this, btw. ^^; » «ooc: Not gonna speak. I'll let Hikaru baste! >:D » «ooc: Best not to use *. That's actions. » «ooc: Okay, is ~ okay? » «ooc: Sure. » >> In Ellena's mind's eye, the figurine seems to shift beneath the surface as its spirit stirs to awakening. Figurine: ~It hears.~ ~I need your help...I'm trying to find out what happened to your owner...Mr. Benton. He's missing...~ ~Can you please help me?~ >> The figure's voice is shrill and lilting, like a manic falsetto. ~Know not owner. What help?~ ~Mr. Benton was the man in the wheelchair. There was a night a while back when strangers came into this house, and tried to hurt me and the man in the wheelchair...I need to know what you saw, if anything...~ Figurine: Hurt? Hurt break? «ooc: Er, with ~~ » >> Rayle settles on Hikaru's shoulder, watching Ellena with an intent, quizzical gaze. ~Something like that...They tried to hurt him with...Things that look sort of like sticks, and made loud noises~ Figurine: ~Much break. Then not so much. Mover go. No break mover. No more moving.~ ~Mover...do you remember what the mover looked like? Can you describe him to me?~ Figurine: ~Mover moves it. Moves it around. Many curves. Large mover.~ * Hikaru waits patiently, not knowing what exactly that Ellena is doing, but leaving her to her work. ~I think...I think that's enough. Thank you very much for your help.~ Figurine: ~Thank for move. Much dusting fall. No move much now.~ ~I won't. Thank you.~ * Ellena gently places the figurine back on the table. * Ellena has a very small smile on her face. >> The figure's ceramic face stares blankly into oblivion. Well..? What did you figure out..? ...I'm...not entirely sure...but I think he might have gotten away. The only question is where he went. * Ellena shakes her head a little, "I'm still not entirely sure. I need a bit more information or else I could be going on a wild goose chase." Rayle: Psst...Ell...you wanna try Awakened spirits. They gots their 'eads screwed on a bit better. * Hikaru blinks and glances at Rayle. "Try what..?" I know...if I could just find the gun Benton used, that'd be perfect...but I doubt it's still here. >> Rayle scratches the side of his head as he looks up at Hikaru. "Well, some spirits are awakened, and some ain't. The unawakened ones are right daft." * Hikaru nods, not understanding at all. ^_^ Well, the figurine wasn't exactly a genius...but he said that the mover left. I assume he must have meant the wheelchair...but whether Benton was actually in it or not... «ooc: brb » If he wasn't in it, I think he'd still be in here.. * Hikaru trails off a little. Well...true...but he also could have died...Who knows...? 'Karu...I'm going to search around the house for that gun. I doubt it's still here...but if I can find it... * Hikaru nods.. "Do you need my help?" * Ellena nods a little, "That'd be very much appreciated. ^^" So where do we start looking..? Anywhere. The outside...inside...every nook and cranny. It could be anywhere. «ooc: can I ff through the search? » «ooc: Sure. » «ooc: Yes please :) I higly doubt we'll find it, but it can't hurt ^^ » >> Hikaru and Ellena split up, searching all throughout the house. Back at the wagon, Jimmy eats a sandwich. «ooc: pause a sec » «ooc: mmm pie sandwich » «ooc: Do you want to divide up areas? » «ooc: It'd pretty much just be divided into inside/outside, I guess. » «ooc: I'll take the inside. » «ooc: I'll take Elle...er, the outside and help Ell with the inside when I'm done looking » >> Time drags slowly onward, proving it fortunate that the wagon was rented for the day...an hour passes silently as Hikaru and Ellena turn the property upside down in search of the missing weapon. >> Hikaru finds nothing but endless sand and scrub outside the house. Ellena is half-choked with dust by the time she finishes her search. In the end, she turns up nothing but a heavy leather pouch filled with copper coins. If there were any gold and silver, they have been removed. «ooc: Take the pouch? » «ooc: Why not? » >> Ellena gets 500 gella. «ooc: >> The gella is cursed. » «ooc: But it comes with a free-frogurt! » «ooc: >> The frogurt is also cursed. » «ooc: But it comes with a free-topping! » «ooc: TIme passes? » «ooc: Yessum :) » >> . . . ... Rayle: I got nothin'. I found some money...but nothing else.. :/ Rayle: Hmm. Strange 'e woulda left without money. I got sand in my shoes, and that's it. :\ * Ellena shakes her head, "I feel as if I have more questions than when I arrived." Rayle: Sometimes questions're better'n answers. Yeah.. at least we...figure.. he's alright.. Maybe. Gives me a little more hope that maybe I'll see him someday. «ooc: Time passes, it passes, it passes through your asses. » «ooc: ...erm. » «ooc: whee! » * Hikaru nods. «ooc: *dootdootdoot* » «ooc: ...I hope you're not expecting me to suddenly make a blinking "GO! >" sign appear like in final fight. » «ooc: I'm waiting for Ellena ^^; » «ooc: Well, turns out i gotta go in a few. :p » «ooc: and wondering if the ABS greaves I have in Progress Quest stand for Antilock Braking System » «ooc: Meh. ^^;;; » «ooc: If you hurry we can end here. » «ooc: Or we cna pick up tomorrow. » «ooc: Nah, I'm near done » «ooc: Right then. Your pose? » I don't think there's much else left to do. 'Karu, can you please head to the wagon, I'll join you in a moment. Are you sure..? * Ellena nods, "Positive." * Hikaru nods and heads out to the wagon to prepare for the trip back... * Ellena heads back into Benton's bedroom, reaching under the bed to take out the one lone gun he owns. . o O ( In case we meet up again, Benton...and you need this back... ) «ooc: * Ellena shoots herself! :D » «ooc: Me: ...I'll sell it for gella! » >> Something is caught up with the gun and comes out with it -- a chain, from which hangs a badly tarnished silver cross she hasn't seen before. ...Huh? What is this...? * Ellena takes a closer look at the cross. >> To the wise eyes of an Elw, the pendant is a memento of times past, suffused with energy grown musty and old from years of dormancy. * Ellena wideyes, and smiles, "Perhaps this trip really wasn't such a waste of time after all..." * Ellena stands up and heads back to the wagon, taking the gun, and the cross, with her. >> Ellena gets Peacemaker and Tarnished Cross! Ellena's custom force "Channelling" is enabled! «ooc: It's only half poopy now! » 2--SESSION END-- Session Close: Thu Jul 04 14:57:42 2002
