* Roric screams, a visceral, deep scream that seems to shake the very air with the force of his anguish. Bittersweet memories and ancient convictions bubble forth from the depths of his soul, roiling out of his mouth and into the sky above. His skin becomes hard and dark, then cracks and peels, wrinkling and splitting like the bark of a tree older than the remembrance of man.
* Roric slowly lifts off the ground, hanging suspended by gossamer threads of soul. His eyes no longer exist, merely windows to the searing, blinding light that shines forth from inside him. A deafening crack splits the sky, and black clouds bubble forth from nothingness, sizzling with pent-up energy.

* Roric falls to the ground suddenly, and the clouds fade as though they never were. The lightning strikes cease, leaving Rachel unharmed but smoking and crackling with inner light. The Mana Sword is now a blazing firebrand, and vast waves of green energy ripple out of her with her every movement.

* Cody cries out softly, before going quiet and somewhat limp, but still breathing, if labored.
