Personality:
Roric is a tall, athletic man, about 6'0" and 170 lbs. His skin is the pale color of the Mandalan people, and he has blue hair cropped halfway down the neck. He dresses in sturdy but beat-up wayfarer's clothes, with a frilly cape-poncho-thing on top because it looks cool. He's seldom seen without a large canvas knapsack and a wineskin, and has the scent of a guy who could probably stand to bathe a bit more often...but it could just be the clothes.
Personality-wise, he's a bit of a churl. Roric is anathema to cultured folk, but that's what happens when you live alone in the mountains...he doesn't seem to think about other peoples' feelings much, but can be nice with a few beers in him. There isn't really anything subtle about Roric, though. If he doesn't like you, he'll say it to your face. Then burp.
Background:
Roric's origins are unclear, perhaps aided by the fact that no one really cares. The most that's known is that he's an orphan from Mandala. These days he lives alone in the mountains, living off the land sometimes and heading down to the lower towns looking for work at others. While capable of surviving without money, he makes a point of getting what he can as a mountaineer, guide, and occasional messenger, though most of it inevitably goes towards beer and whores. Getting drunk and getting nookie seem to be his main interests, as he eschews the higher pursuits of art, culture and love. He's skilled in combat, which gives him an edge in his trade since it gives him the ability to take care of hostile mountain wildlife, and, unusually, displays some Gemma Knight skills, which he apparently picked up from a wandering master in exchange for help. These days such skills can be a liability with the Empire sniffing around, so he keeps a lid on them for the most part.
