Tahn is generally easygoing, but will sometimes let his emotions cloud his judgement, especially if they have to do with Vane. However, his past at the Magic School is slowly eating away at his soul, and he has slowly been becoming more emotionless and logical as time takes it's toll...

Background:

Tahn, by his own account, grew up in a nice, peaceful town which shall remain nameless. In reality, that 'nice, peaceful town' was Vane. He started out his early life fairly peacefully, not a care in the world. Many people considered him a prodigy due to the fact he could cast minor wind and air spells by the time he was three, with no outside help or training. Thus, he was almost instantly enrolled in the Magic School when his sixth birthday came around. He passed his first few years with flying colors, even starting to learn how to cast Healing spells and other white magic.

By the age of 13, he already had been enrolled in Professor Gregory Windstar's class.. the highest level class in the Magic Guild. His parents had left town the very same week that he reached the top, sent by Kashier Ausa himself to go explore the Blue Spire. Needless to say, they didn't return. After a while, Tahn started having nightmares constantly. Vane in ruins, the dragons once again captured or slain, his family, friends, and everyone else, dead...all because of him. These nightmares kept going on, until one day, he finally couldn't stand them any more.

It had been 3 months since his parents left on that fateful journey, and the nightmares were coming in full force then. Having no one else to consult, he decided to ask his professor, Gregory. However, when he got to the house in which his instructor was saying, only to find it locked, he decided to peek in a window, to see if anyone was home. What he discovered, however, was so much more. It appeared that during the after-hours of the school, when all the residents of Vane were in their houses, Gregory had been doing a little more with his time than most would have thought... black magic, summonings, posession, you name it, Tahn saw examples of it in that house of horror. Rushing back to his home, Tahn stayed shut into his room for 3 days without food or sleep. However, after that, he left due to fear of death, only to find a rather pissed off Gregory Windstar at his front door, obviously knowing about that night not that long ago. The two stared at one another for what seemed to be forever, but eventually Gregory broke off the glare and walked off. However, his message was well spoken in its silence.. mutter a word about this to _anyone_ and you die. Tahn's life would never be the same...

After that day, Tahn still attended classes in the Guild, yet Gregory was there to taunt him every minute he was there. He tried to ask Kash for a change of class, yet either he was never around, or it was Gregory who was there before him. After a while, he finally realized this was useless, and tried to leave Vane. However, like a bad wart, Gregory simply did not cease to annoy or wound him; for he was waiting there at the gates with a spell ready for Tahn to be at the recieving end of.

For 2 years straight, Gregory continued to beat Tahn physically, mentally, emotionally. One day, however, luck was on his side, and he was able to leave Vane, for good. Gregory couldn't have stopped him then.. or was it that he didn't want to?

5 years later...

Tahn had been wandering ever since the day he left Vane, and had made his way to Larpa, the Dragon Ruins, and back. On this particular day, he stumbled into the city of Meribia, exhausted, hungry, and flat broke. He knew he might as well go back to Vane if he couldn't get some silver, quick. However, he quickly found his calling, as he was hired by a certain someone to assassinate a Mr. Lane for 10,000 silver... Who would have known it would lead him to his destiny with the group, and what new chapters are about to be added to his life?

As of Chapter 8... At the Trial, a piece of evidence was brought forth, a note that blatantly linked Tahn to the Rancor's Fang. Although later proven to be a forgery in the courts, it can only make him wonder when his other secrets will come out...
