Personality wise, Leon can be rather vocal about his hatred. He hasn't killed himself because he thinks a quick death is too good for him. He hates himself, and while he doesn't really hate others, since they had nothing to do with it, his hatred of himself makes him lack the ability to care for others. He seems to have no compassion for anyone. In battle he is ruthless, and has been known to run up to a fallen opponent's dead carcus and continue firing, taking out agression. Overall, Leon's hatred is a thick and sturdy shell that hides the compassionate and caring side of him that hasn't surfaced in over 10 years.
Background:
Leon grew up the child of Dedrick and Mariah Blackfire in the town of Takkar. Dedrick was a law enforcement officier. Mariah was a loving mother, and dedicated wife. He was brought up the right way, and lived a very happy childhood. His parents loved him, and each other, very much, providing a more than livable home for him. Leon had the reputation of being a "good kid," in the sense that he took everything his father taught him to the heart, and did his best not to do anything to hurt others. He was quite responsible as a child, especially for his age, and had lots of good friends.
Around his 10th birthday, Dedrick taught his son, thinking he was more than old enough, how to use guns, mostly service revolvers and pistols, but also in larger weapons (although he didn't aim that well, most of the weapons were bigger than he was). Leon took on very quickly, and learned how to aim and shoot a firearm with excellent accuracy and speed. Above all else, though, Dedrick taught his son that he must never, ever, use a gun to harm another human being unless it's absolutely nessessary. Leon remembered his father's words above all else, and took these to the heart.
However, as with all stories of this kind, Leon's life took a turn for the worst. A Gang, calling themselves The Rancor's Fang, started causing a lot of trouble in Dedrick'd district of town. However, the police were frightlying outnumbered, and when the smoke cleared, Rancor's Fang found themselves with Dedrick, and his wife Mariah, as their captives. Leon didn't know what to do. He was just now turning 13, and couldn't really take down the entire gang by himself when his big, strong father couldn't even do it. However, he recalled his father's words about using guns, and came to the conclusion that if saving his parents wasn't "absolutely nessessary," then nothing was. So he loaded up a pistol, and took it into the streets, demanding that his parents be relased.
Needless to say, it wasn't long before he was also captured. He was put in a room with his parents, and was watched them tortured to the brink of death. Their screams rang in his ears like out of his worst nightmares come true. After a week, the Gang gave Leon a choice to make. He could kill his parents, and put them out of their misery, and go free, or he too would be tortured in the same ways for as long as they got a rise of out it. Dedrick pleaded with the gang, not to bring his son into this, because he was so young, and had no real part in what was the big picture. However, his cries fell on deaf ears. Leon was now forced to make a choice...a choice that would be hard for anyone to make.
Dedrick, in attempt to be strong in front of his son, gathered up all his courage, and told Leon to shoot him in the head. Leon cried and cried, and didn't want to do it, but Dedrick insisted, and then ordered his son to do it. Leon, since he always did what was asked of him, had no choice but to close his eyes and slowly lift his gun...and slowly pulled the trigger two times....
Twelve years later, Leon hasn't been back to his hometown. He now roams around, too wrapped up in his own hatred to do anything with himself. He hates himself, he hates the gang, and he hates just about everything else. Being forced to kill his family has left an emotional scar on him that has never even come close to erasing.
