He wants to devour this world, strip if of life. All you'll accomplish is saving your own death for last. ....the illusion was abandoned for a reason, and Zophar isn't one to keep his word. Rain begins to fall upon the party as he swings the sword down, grimacing. "I'll have to douse your flames then. Your power's meaningless, the way you're using it. For Niri's sake, I'll ask you one more time to stand down! * Saki looks sombre, reaching out a hand. "... hehn! Power? Allow me to smash it for you." >> Leah prepares a mental Illusion spell targeting the ally party. Her left hand also prepares a Chaos magic Tanan identifies as Conduction Shock. [Leah] This is a race, Niri... a race that you can't win... not this time... * Ryllan closes his fist around a vial, growling. We'll see about that. >> Battle Phase. >> Saki's action. * Saki grits her teeth, glare boring into Ghaleah. "... a race? When you're that slow? You don't have a hope! I'll show you how useless that power is!" She drags the shadows around her once more then blasts off again, beelining for the mage on a path that won't be stopped. >> Saki restores her barrier now even stronger than before (4 charges), at a cost of 135 HP! >> Mikel's action. * Mikel breaks free of Niri, sprinting towards Leah without any regard to the injuries he's been inflicted with. Blood and willforce trail behind him as he levels the sword, ice wrapping around it. "You want it back? Take it! Cold Blood!" With that he thrusts the blade forward, freezing all vitals that it strikes! Mikel! Stop! ... >> Mikel's remaining magic reserves shred into Leah with more power than before, perhaps bolstered by the desire of the sword... yet she does resist Water attack! 428 damage! Immune to Poison! >> Leah's rage intensifies as her Talent is up 10%! * Mikel rips the blade free, glaring daggers as he springs back and readies himself. [Leah] Taunting me with that...?! >> Niri's action. * Niri delays! >> Tanan's action. * Tanan delays. >> Ryllan! >> Ryllan enhances the Angel Tears he carries, causing Trune and Vytor to revive! I needed that. * Trune breathes in deep, "Oh man...thanks you two. Thanks a lot." * Mikel blinks as the wounds close up, snapping out of the rage induced daze and nearly dropping the sword. "Wha... oh, damn, thanks." You guys okay now? * Niri sounds pretty worried, though she keeps her eyes focused on Leah. [Leah] Hmph.. trying to confuse me... then lets see how you fare with your own inner demons... Illusion Sign - Nightmare! It must not be..." Blue sparks begin to coalesce around his left hand, which lifts to point directly at Trune." * Mikel hefts the sword, water gathering once again. Leah utterly breaks down weeping "My only friend... the world always takes them away... why!!!" * Trune looks like he wants to head to Niri's side, but suddenly thinks of something else, his athames quickly tracing a complex pattern in the air, "That thing behind you...is that it? Is that what's making you do these things!?" Take out the sword. That's the real enemy here. That sword's just a copy, Vytor. Then there is suddenly a presence about her that seems strange.... as the illusions about the remaining party fade, another one becomes visible. Real one's right here. * Trune shakes his head vehemently, "It's not. It's something else. You can't see it?" Leah then starts laughing lowly. * Tanan goes silent for a moment as Niri falls, then begins to make a sound partway between a snarl and growl. * Ryllan watches one nightmare fade, to see another unfolding, "Dammit, No!" "He's right." Niri. We should make sure no one falls, even to this. * Trune makes a complex pattern on the ground with his athames, the sigils suddenly pulsing with raw, unbridled willforce. He then stands upright and traces another pattern in the air with his athames, the wake left behind is a dark purple color. He then begins tracing yet ANOTHER pattern, this one looking the same as the last. We've got to get rid of that thing behind Leah! * Niri nods, still looking grim. "All right, Ryllan. Enough damage has been done already." ...She's not Leah anymore. I...don't even know what she is. * Mikel crackles, raising his hands up once again. * Niri hums low and soft, a gentle light surrounding her. The sound of her music is distinctly in a minor key this time. [Leah] Leah prepares another Dragon Cannon! "...I'll finish you this time. Neither of those voices will stop me." << er yeah. :P >> * Ryllan 's voice is a lower, base rumble, flowing under Niri's and somehow seeming to lift it, carry it farther. * Niri finds her resolve strengthen a bit. >> Battle Phase. << Fuck. Ice forms at the tip the moment before it pierces as he growls out something under his breath to Leah. As the ice spreads he wrenches it out and springs away. * Niri sets her mouth in a grim line, steeling herself as she watches Mikel's watery counterpart attack what was once her friend. >> Cold Blood follows, dealing 775 damage! Leah reels, taking a step backwards in shock. Again, there is the instability that appears as the pain replaces the focus briefly. >> Niri's action. * Niri gathers what resolve she has and sings, restoring some of the front row's energy reserves. >> Niri's Song of Healing combines with Ryllan's metamagic and covers all allies... 1060 Hp restored! >> Tanan's action. >> He is focusing.. Niri regains 100 Hp, 37 MP. >> Vytor's action. * Vytor dashes straight at Leah, and the vaults completely over her! "I have no idea who you are, but knock it off!" * Vytor runs forward and slams his hammer onto the ground, causing an explosion that sends his target screaming into the sky! Vytor leaps past, and then spins over in a massive overhead strike! The target plummets to earth like a suicidal meteor, with Vytor not far behind. As he lands, Vytor slams his hammer once again into his foe with earth-shattering force! He spares a glance towards the watery alterego, wincing before stepping to place a hand on Niri's shoulder. ...I'm sorry, Niri. So, so sorry. * Ryllan kneels down to Leah's body, checking for a pulse. * Vytor looks away. * Niri just nods, still staring as she slowly sheathes her sword. She misses the scabbard the first time. Trune's athames glow with left over force, and even the ECC seems to get a static feedback from the sudden outflow of powerand a connection that was severed. It beeps in warning and shocks his hand lightly. I...ow! * Mikel` steps up alongside the body as well, blade still readied. "...is she done, or do we need to finish it?" Leah gasps. "...Niri..." * Niri freezes but does not move forward. "..." * Trune drops the ECC and glances at his hand in confusion for a moment. * Mikel` sighs, pointing the blade at Leah. The dragonmaster lays face up in the grassy field, scortched and battered, but still breathing in a rasp. ...Leah? * Mikel` glances at Ryllan for a moment, blade still poised for the ending stroke. Leah coughs up a bit of blood. "...I don't know who or what I am anymore." A risk. I... [Leah] "I guess... this is why I was always.. an orphan.. never accepted..." * Niri tries to speak, but her voice catches in her throat and she isn't sure what to say. You were accepted, by everyone you knew. Laike. Me, my family. I don't know why you were ever jealous or resentful, when all we did was treat you as one of us. [Leah] The past.. its... a shackle... [Leah] Looks like I might at least win.. 8cough* one race... * Niri looks away, trying to swallow the lump in her throat. She sets her mouth in a grim line for a moment, then mouths something silently. Leah's head slowly slumps down to the grass, and the last movements of her fingers touch a fallen circlet upon the ground. * Ryllan reaches up and closes Leah's eyes, then turns up to look at Niri, face set in stone, "She's gone." Niri's armor resonates with this headpiece, as the remaining willforce of Leah's soul seeps into it. * Niri merely nods to Ryllan. She steps forward slowly, curling faintly shaking fingers around the circlet. * Vytor sets Mikel` down again. * Niri stares at the circlet. * Mikel` just gives Vytor a look. >> Niri acquires Ghaleon's Circlet! Trune!? * Niri takes a few shaky steps forward in an effort to catch him. Niri catches the teetering Trune, who appears to have fainted from the dual wielding magic he displayed. As she supports her friend, the moment in time moves forward again, and they are approached by a throng of awe-struck defenders who witnessed the entire battle. The dragons had fallen from heaven, and now came the time to bury them and move forward. The essences glowed with power and the barrier was now ready to be breeched... * Mikel mutters a curse under his breath, starting forward though he doesn't get too close.
