Session Start: Sat Oct 06 21:46:52 2007 Session Ident: #lunar-iog2 * Logging for #lunar-iog2 started * TheStoryteller changes topic to '-= Chapter 55: Penance | Location: Crystal Spire | Pool: 5 MXP =- == SESSION START == Time passes slowly following the events of the Crystal Spire's opening to the group's feet. Lucia still remains in the crystal, slowly recovering.. but the time is put at very long. Niri still keeps vigil though, as the rest of the party stretgizes for the upcoming trip to recover Saturn in Eden. Many dangers face them in the old battlefields, not the least of which is the proximity to Zophar's ancient headquarters in Jerusalem... * Saki has been mostly scarce, and acting a little strangely: from taking up vigil outside of Niri's vigil as her guard, to skulking about outside the tower in high winds, to generally roaming all over the shop. Clearly there's been something on her mind; more likely, something in it. Now she's skulking against a wall in one of the rooms of the Tower. * Vytor is sitting comfortably to one side, his notepad in hand while he chews on a pencil in thought. * Mikel has been wandering this way in that within the tower, keeping a vague eye on Niri. He also seems vaguely... cheerful at times for some reason or another, though he manages to lose that look as he steps into the room Saki and Vytor are in, hands in his jacket's pockets. One might notice a book from what the group found in the tower at his belt, held by a silver chain. Saki, if you lean any harder against this tower you're gonna punch a hole in the wall. * Trune is sitting off on his own reading a book of some sort, away from the group, his expression stormy. * Saki blinks blearily up; her eyes faraway, she just about registers Mikel's entry before realising Vytor said something. "... nn?" * DooM_Away is now known as Ryllan I know that you can be an intense woman, Saki, but I've never seen anyone LEAN as intensely as you are now. * Saki has the decency to look perhaps a little embarrassed. "Ah." Lifting off the wall a little, she actually pays attention to the room, frowning in a vaguely bemused sense. "... I'm just feeling a little lost." I know. We all are, to varying degrees I think. * Angie sequestered herself in a small study on the second floor and has only emerged once since then. She's been sitting all alone amid the bare, dusty shelves, poring over the book and transcribing it into her own ledger. * Trune looks up at the conversation, nods slightly, then goes back down to his book. * Vytor jots down a couple more notes, then looks around, "Anyone seen Angie?" * Mikel grabs a chair and takes a seat, letting out a bit of a sigh and propping his hands up behind his head. Something on his hand catches the light for a moment as he speaks up. "It hasn't exactly been an enjoyable time here." * Saki huffs out a breath. "... she's around. Want her finding?" I just need her expertise for something. * Ryllan steps into the room, "I think she's studying that book of hers. I think she's only emerged for food and water." * Vytor blinks at Ryllan, "STill? Must be a good book." It's... powerful, from what I saw of it. S'the book we found in Ien, isn't it? About Time magic? * Saki nods once, and slips out of the door deceptively quietly. * Vytor stands up, working some kinks out of his knees, "I feel like this whole quest has aged me somewhat. I didn't used to have achy joints like this." Well, with the amount of time magic that's been flowing around... * Vytor chuckles * Ryllan chuckles, "Or maybe you're just tired. We all are." Or it could have something to do with that last beaing we took. * Mikel lets out a bit of a groan, tipping the chair back. "Oh, Ryl'. Before we leave, can you help me patch up those dragons so they aren't a total pushover if someone else comes knocking?" <> * Saki makes her way through the tower, reaches Angie's door, and tries an experimental knock or two. >> There's no reply. * Ryllan nods, "Should have done that before, really." He holds up a hand, mollifying, "But I didn't think of it either." * Mikel lets out a vexed sigh. "Was too busy being pissed at Lucia." Live and learn. * Saki blinks twice, then her face drops enough to put on a convincing deadpan. "... o great scholar Angie, we could use your expertise upstairs. ... and if you've fallen asleep I'll carry your ass up there." >> "I'll be there in a minute," comes the reply; she sounds distracted, half-there. Besides, this way we won't make the same mistake if we have a similar situation. * Saki tilts her head - force of habit, since Angie can't see it - and waits dutifully for a few moments. * Mikel nods, keeping the chair a bit tilted as he plucks the book from his belt and flips through a few pages. "True enough. So... Saturn and that Lazarus project and what have you next then, I guess." We can't afford to make that same mistake again. More than one person paid for it... What exactly is this Lazarus Project supposed to be, anyways? >> It takes rather more than a few moments, but eventually Angie swings the door open. She has a tiny stub of a pencil behind her ear and two books clutched to her chest -- her own ledger, and the magic book from Ien. Fake bodies. I'm not clear on all the details. What's up? But it stands to reason that if Zophar wanted a body for whatever reason... * Saki nods towards Angie as the door opens. "We're sort of congregating. Vytor's got a question, I've got an experiment to try." So I suppose when we find it, we smash it into little bitty pieces so Zophar can't use it. Certainly. I can get behind that I think. Though, I wonder... * Ryllan shoots a look at Saki. * Mikel shrugs as he flips through the book some more, frowning. "I'd suggest attempting a trap but it'd probably go badly for us." * Angie spares a longing look at her hideaway, then steps over the threshold with an air of reluctance. "Experiment?" << Erk. Nuke that.>> * Saki nods - it's rather slower than normal, for her, as if she'd dislodge something. "... there's someone we need to ally with. I think it's about time I dragged her out to say hello." * Ryllan shakes his head, "We're not ambushing the Destroyer. Not before we're ready for him." Although what's to stop Zophar from just hijacking Leah's body? Or Emiria's? He hasn't yet. * Mikel grimaces. "Us praying." He's got two perfectly good bodies willing to serve him as is. Why not take them? That's what I don't get. I don't /know/. Maybe it's harder to steal a full body than an empty one. Maybe he can't. I'd think he'd probably hijack them by now if he could. Maybe they're a last resort deal. Alternately, yes. Such an action deprives him of a very useful tool. One he could keep if he found a body of his own. * Angie makes a dissatisfied murmur, but follows along without further complaint. I don;t suppose we could lure him into taking a body that doesn't work? * Saki smirks, chuckling as she leads the way. "We won't keep you too long." * Mikel sighs. "I hope he doesn't. Niri's gone through enough without Zophar plugging himself into Leah's body." Maybe we can give him the body of an old crippled bastard with incontenance or somethin. «ooc: something » * Vytor cracks his knuckles, "Something the bleeds easily." * Trune smirks to himself, "I can see it now, 'And now I'll destroy the world and--oh crap I wet myself AGAIN!'" * Vytor laughs * Saki toddles her way back into the meeting room just in time to catch Trune's admission. I suppose slaying a god's ego is a good first step. * Saki blinks once, considers, then deadpans. "... we could get you a bib." * Mikel just snickers as he turns the page. "I would think the Destroyer could impart enough control to deal with that." * Vytor waves to Saki and Angie. * Mikel then proceeds to start laughing some more at Saki's comment, nearly tipping the chair entirely over. * Trune blinks at Saki, then shakes his head vigorously, "No! Not me! Agh, nevermind." Be nice, Saki. Now you've done it, Trune. * Saki grins, stalking her way over to her spot at the wall. She doesn't sulk, but does carefully not lean against it. I've always done it. You kidding? I am cursed. Hey Angie, can I ask you to look at these designs I've been working on? * Ryllan shakes his head, chuckling, "Alright, enough of this. If we can leave one body out. break it's kneecaps or something. That's a good idea. If we can't, oh well." Works for me. * Angie strides over to the Vytor, setting her books down on the way. She bends over, hands on the table, to look at the design. * Vytor hands over his notepad, of which most of the current page looks like a pencil threw up on it and was later erased. But the result looks like a mechanical reproduction of the Harmonic Engine. * Saki blinks. "... this is about Lazarus? Don't break it too fast." * Mikel flips to the next page, hrming. "I need to put this through a religious talk filter." What's your thought, Saki? * Angie frowns at the notepad for a moment, brow knitted in thought, then turns it around and stares at it for a few moments longer. "Looks about right. We've already got one of these, though." * Saki shrugs one shoulder. "... the obvious one. Fake body, surplus soul. ... then an extra fighter." She winces, momentarily, and growls at midair. "--or whatever she wants to do, yes, I know." * Mikel blinks, looking up at Saki. "Bringing Rachel back in her own body?" I know, but I wanted to try an experiement to see if I could make it smaller. So I want to be sure that this pencil version isn't missing anything. So long as she won't try to kill us or whatever, I don't see the problem. ...Hell, even if she does, we can take that as it comes. * Saki makes a face at Mikel. "... or a different body. At this point, she isn't picky." --then the face is pointed straight at Ryllan. "... she's a lot more lucid. We've been having a chat or three." * Angie spends another minute or so squinting at the diagram and tracing the channels with her finger before at last handing it back. "Looks good. I was kind of channelling when I built the thing, though, so it could be I'm missing something too." Well, the fact that you haven't laughed in my face about the idea is a promising sign. * Vytor flips over to a clean sheet and starts writing a new page of notes. As long as she doesn't break us, that's fine. Lucid is good. I'm glad of that. Do we have any indication of what she /wants/ to do? * Angie watches Vytor scribble for a little while, then wanders over to Saki. "I got distracted. What's up!" Saki wants to use the Lazarus Project to provide Rachel with a body of her own. * Saki nods to Angie, but continues talking Ryllan-wards, voice growing rather more serious. "... she doesn't care much beyond getting a body of her own. ... but I say that we, her, and the Prophetess are all after Zophar in the end. Why not help?" Question. How would we get her into the new body? Carefully? * Mikel gives Trune a bit of a Look. I /have/ to assume that the Lazarus project involved some of that. If it didn't... * Saki rubs at her face; "... life energy. Yuriko said that somewhere to the east was saturated with it. Has to be Saturn and Lazarus." Yeah...but Mikel is right in the fact that...well, what would happen if we split you and Rachel up? * Mikel mulls over that as he turns another page. "Gemini Storm, but with two people instead of two pieces of one is my guess." Also less elements. It's not the same thing at all. If we pull this off, we have two separate bodies. Not two willforce projections. * Saki shakes her head towards Trune. "... honestly, we have no idea. The only thing left is to check Lazarus out and try it if it looks safe." I'm sure they would be offended at the thought they don't have real bodies, but fair enough. * Angie stares blankly at Saki, watching the conversation drift by until a convenient handhold appears. "Do we know she won't team up with the Prophetess again?" she asks at last. That... would suck. Somehow I doubt she would. * Saki rakes her hair with a hand, making a noise in the back of her throat. "... because I'd like to trust her on that," she admits at great length, "And because she's got little love for any of them but one anymore." And we already know that one... has some issues with the rest of their goals. * Mikel shrugs. "No problems then. Besides the transfer and finding a good body I guess." * TheStoryteller changes topic to '-= Chapter 55: Penance | Location: Crystal Spire | Pool: 2 MXP =- http://storen.rpgcafe.net/IoG/' It can't be more dangerous than putting me back together was, at least. Realisitically, I think we should look into the idea of the Prophetess actually being on our side, provided we can talk her out of the whole "change history" fixation she's got. Well, I was willing to trust her until she tried to kill us all that one time. Admittedly, half the people I've met this year have tried to kill me, but still. I suspect any alliance with the prophetess will be more along the lines of 'Kill Zophar, then have it out amongst ourselves for the rights to History." But I'm a pessimist. Eh...I dunno...I mean, just because her goals may be similar doesn't mean we should go out and have tea with the woman. * Saki frowns, and starts waving her hands a little erratically as she tries to explain. "--I've-- we've. ... Rachel and I have agreed to try to work together. I wanted to try something related to that." I'm all for that idea. What've you got in mind? * Mikel taps a finger on the book. "Prophetess has to go or relinquish the souls she's taken one way or another." * Angie interleaves her fingers and murmurs into her cupped hands. "If we could just give them all bodies and let them do their thing, that'd be great. It's only wanting to reconfigure the world that I don't approve of." * Saki is leaning back against the wall now, and rather uncertain of herself: she ploughs on nonetheless. "Bringing her out in a non-hostile situation. Now that she's lucid, and we've managed to connect a bit more, it might..." * Saki trails off, and shrugs-- and then immediately scowls. "--it is /not/ 'meeting the family'," she speaks to mid-air. * Ryllan can't help but chuckle a little, though he tries to stifle it with a hand. I'm hurt, Saki. * Mikel grins. * Vytor supresses a grin. * Trune can't help but grin a little. * Angie cranes her head back and squints at the ceiling, fixating on a single brown speck. "Are you OK with it? It must be like, sort of like if you surgically removed a piece of your brain, or like with Neptune how he was three guys." * Mikel glances at Angie. "Would it? They're seperate people. Souls." * Saki hunkers down on her knees, sliding down the wall and melodramatically pressing her hands to her head. "... gods help me, I've an editorialist in my head." She glances up, frowning and sombre again. "... don't know. We're not separate. That's the problem. ... it might be worth your keeping an eye on us as we try this." That can be arranged I think. * Angie snorts indelicately. "Yeah," she says, harnessing the sarcasm of seven disaffected teenagers. Even if you didn't ask, Saki. * Saki snorts in return as she straightens back up, a smirk on her face. "... or you could go back to your book and miss it." * Angie boosts her ass onto the table next to her books and leans back on her hands. "I'm good." * Saki huffs in some kind of vague irritation, and continues quietly; "... don't know how badly she'll react to being at the front again. That's where people being ready to smack me comes in." Mmh. I'd be happier if Tanan were here... But I think we can manage. We'll manage, Saki. I think we can handle it if things go awry. Don't want to disturb Niri, either. Yeah...she...she needs to be alone right now. * Trune bites his lip and closes his book, the stormy look returning to his face briefly. * Mikel closes his eyes. "Mm. I'm worried about her." Leave her be for now. She needs time. * Saki ... summarily stalls for time, but has apparently run out of questions. "... right." Closing her eyes and bracing herself against the wall, she apparently just listens to the conversation about Niri. * Ryllan looks at Mikel, nodding slightly, but turns back to Saki, "You ready to... do whatever you're going to?" * Mikel opens his eyes, shutting the book. "Time to 'meet the family'." * "She's done it," whips out Saki's voice, or at least a close approximation - it's several notches more gruff, though attributable to a bad mood. She's motionless except for opening one eye, which glares owlishly at Mikel. "Suggest that again and I'll cave your head in." * Vytor raises an eyebrow at Saki. ...well, aren't you cheery. Hello, Rachel. * Mikel tenses a bit at the statement, keeping a hand on the book. * Angie sucks on her cheek and watches Rachel with a disaffected half-lidded stare that isn't fooling anyone. * Trune looks a little more alert, one hand on the handle of his athame just in case. * Saki inclines her head a very little amount. "... mnh." It might be agreeing with Mikel. "--everything prickles. She's not that good at this yet." Practice makes perfect, I guess. Well, if we manage to make your plan work, you won't have to do this any more. * Saki leans off the wall at length, balancing unsteadily. She doesn't pay direct attention to Ryllan: apparently, having fingers again is new and interesting. "I'm not sold on fighting with you. I'm not the optimist out of the two of us." Huh. Well, hello Rachel. Nice to talk to you finally. * Mikel raises an eyebrow. "(m)Oh man we're doomed then." Frankly, Rachel, I couldn't care less whether you fight alongside us or not. So long as you're not fighting against us. Regardless of whether we count you as an ally or merely someone who's not trying to actively kill us, the plan as it stands involves helping someone most of us count as a friend relieve a significant amount of suffering. It's a desireable goal. I'd prefer it that she fights on our side. But you want to go your own way, Rachel, I won't stop you. * Vytor gets a careful nod: Rachel's eyes flick to Angie for a moment but really, they never leave Ryllan's face for long as she bores a hard glare at him. She snorts; "... with my and your luck, this won't even work. We'll see." Hm. Real cheery. It might at least give you another point to go off of. * Ryllan stares back at Rachel, unintimidated, "If it doesn't work than nothing changes, and maybe we learn something about the nature of your bond." Can't know if something will work or not unless you try it. * Saki rakes her hair in an exact mirror of Saki's common gesture, looking either sheepish, embarassed, or somehow put-upon. It's hard to tell; not helped when she suddenly staggers and pitches forwards. With a loud swearword then a softer one, Saki's suddenly on her hands and knees. Saki? * Mikel lets his chair fall back onto all four legs, frowning. "You alright?" Saki? * Vytor walks over to Saki * Angie raises her legs as though she afraid of Saki biting her feet. * Saki nods; from the angle of her head it's just her hair bobbing up and down. The voice is back to normal; "... for a certain type of 'alright'. ... nngow." Suppose you can't hold it for long, huh? Welcome back. * Saki sits back on her haunches, one hand on her forehead and one eye screwed up. "... not exactly long. Wasn't even sure if I could do it." You did it though. Its a start. I kinda wish her first words didn't involve caving my skull in. * Mikel goes back to tipping the chair backwards. * Angie grimaces down at Saki and rocks back. She meant it out of affection, I'm sure ;) She's pretty grumpy. * Saki continues to hide under one hand, furrowing her brow. "--why exactly /do/ I have the urge to throw Mikel off a cliff?" * Mikel siiighs. That was Rachel's idea, actually. Saki, she's not going to pitch me off the ATV or something when I'm not looking, right? Because I really can do without becoming roadkill. * Saki finally opens both eyes and nods to Angie. "... try living with her," she deadpans, which she pays for with a wince. /Pass/ * Ryllan looks at Angie, "You'd probably be pretty grumpy too, sharing one-person accomodations like that." A safe assumption, I think. * Mikel opens up the book again to where he was. "Not comforted by the lack of answer. Maybe I should find a way to make this thing permanently guard me." Man, Mikel, whatever happened to living dangerously? * Angie leans back, craning her neck at an odd angle to get a look at Mikel's book. "Wossat?" * Saki just lets herself sort of fall to one side; she ends up in a sitting position, still nursing her head. Mikel is only really answered by a 'mrph' noise. There's living dangerously and there's having /Rachel/ wanting to pitch you off the cliff. I'll take a one on one with the Prophetess instead. * Vytor sits down by Saki, and keeps an eye on her for a bit. I dunno. I bet I could take her. * Mikel glances at Angie, holding up the book. "This? Virtue bible of some sort. Has a nifty little spell meant for defense in there. Along with all their religious texts and stuff it seems." I mean, without those hand thingies. * Angie spins the book around to look at it. "Does it work? They used a different kind of magic, right?" * Saki blinks twice in quick succession, blearily, then is apparently up to speed and focused. She nods at Vytor. I haven't tested it out yet, but I think so. Want to make sure nothing's off about me in regards to willforce from what happened in Ien before trying it out. Yeah...noticed you were whole again...and you weren't dead, so Emili must have not been that pissed at you. She was pissed. Healing those guardians should be a good test. Just not 'rargh eat you!' pissed, right? ...well. Part of her was. * Mikel coughs. You have the most awesome, complex relationship ever. * Vytor chuckles You have /no/ idea. * Saki smiles with just a little malice. "--if he's looking for a real test, I know someone who could oblige." I probably don't, and I dunno if I really want to. I'm gonna have things talking in my head soon enough, that's complex enough. * Mikel glances at Trune. "Beat you to that." * Mikel then looks over at Saki. "...Only if she promises to not break me too badly." * Trune blinks and stares at Mikel, "...Okay /what/?" Mikel, /no/. Or I'll throw you out the window myself. No playing with Rachel? Bah. * Saki looks openly stunned for a moment then grins across at Ryllan. "It would help calm her down," she deadpans in an extremely unconvincing manner. Down, Saki ;) * Mikel looks at Trune. "I... think a part of me stuck with her when she and Niri were putting me back together... and a part of her came with me." "Even if she loses?" Angie cracks a smile, showing a sliver of bright white teeth. That's how she described it, at least. * Saki considers Angie's question, apparently at length. Some sort of mental link, then? Huh...well, at least you'll know where I'm coming from when I say I've got a party in my head whenever we go elementlor hunting. * Saki comes to a conclusion at last, face sunken in thought. "... if she lost, she'd just have to try surprise attacks." * Mikel nods, mming as he flips a page. "Yeah. I can reach her from here... just takes more effort. Works better if I'm sleeping I think." * Mikel eyes Saki. "If she wants rides on the Stormrider, no punching the driver." * Ryllan raises an eyebrow at Mikel, "...Anyway." * Saki nods, sobering. "... Lazarus next?" When you're sleeping, huh? (w) Better not tell us what other bodily changes you'll undergo, Mikel. * Mikel flips another page, frowning. "Goddess I hate some of these parables." He looks up, nodding. "That and Saturn, looks like." The parables are just a front. The method for the secret Seventh Day Cataclysm technique is contained in them, but only if you can, like, only if you read them right. Too bad we don't know exactly where Saturn is. We could bypass a lot of the mines n'stuff everyone has mentioned. I hate going in blind. The mines are what our scout here is for. Oh yeah, I'm feeling the love. * Saki tilts her head towards Angie. "... reminds me. Anything useful?" Also, Angie, if there's something like /that/ in here I will be rather impressed. I think I'll just have to flick something ahead of me and the like for landmines, anyways. I wonder if I could trigger 'em with spells. * Angie hops off the table. "There's always something like that! Doesn't anybody read nowadays?" She clasps her hands and stretches with a grunt. "Speaking of which! I should go back to discovering the secrets of the universe." ...Is that what that book is about? Be careful. Well, the cover said it was about Time magic. Which is what the Headmaster plays with. Despite the fact you can annoy me on occasion, I'd rather you not blow yourself up or implode with magic that no person should handle. * Mikel raises an eyebrow. "Touching." * Trune bows, "You know me, regular prince that I am." Despite the Mikel bashing, we do need to find a way through the defenses without getting creamed. How about blasting them apart first? It tends to work for us. I don't have a better solution * Angie waves away Trune's concerns with a puff of air and a flap of her hand. "Tch! It's me." Session Time: Sun Oct 07 00:00:00 2007 * Mikel turns the page. "Maybe that's why he worries." Pretty much, yeah. * Saki drags her hair back, frowning. "At this point, I'll be thankful for anything we can use." * Mikel frowns, marking his place and shutting the book. "...also. We need to figure out something so we don't get blindsided next time Leah or Emiria decide to visit." Short of turning the area in front of us into /glass/, we have a serious problem with that. * Angie points a triumphant finger at Saki. "See?" she says, vindicated. "She has the right idea. It's like market speculation! You have to take big risks to get big profits." My vote is don't fight her on any more ledges. That'd be a good start. She can teleport though, it looks like. The teleportation we can't do much about. It makes me a bit more paranoid though. ...Hmm. Since if she can drop in on us next time she wants another shot at Niri... * Mikel shakes his head. We don't let her do that. That's the bottom line here, I think we're all agreed. There's magic that'll stop that, but usually it requires that you set up a perimeter. What if we could find some information on Ghaleon. Perhaps he has a weakness of some sort, and we could get the jump on hi---er Leah, for a change? Anything we can find on Ghaleon is going to be in that book of Niri's. We can't get across the ocean at the moment The wings are essentially non-functional. His name was mentioned a lot from what I read, but in truth I didn't pay much attention to him. Well, we could try with the Polaris. But Zophar's got a block on the mainland as far as the Wings go. TIME's having issues getting messages through as well. ...Hmm. You'd think there'd be anything here...at the spire itself? I know it's a long shot but who knows how much Lucia kept here. It was her special place, after all. * Mikel frowns. "We went through this place from top to bottom, though." ...Neh. Still... If there was anything hidden the only person who is gonna know is currently recovering from the number Leah did to her. I don't suppose going over this place with a fine tooth comb would help> * Mikel glances at Angie. "Like the stuff they had set up in Raculi to block the Prophetess, right? If we could find a way to do /that/ without needing to set up an area before hand it'd be nice to stop her from just dropping in on top of us." * Angie picks up her books and clutches them to her chest. "I want to know what's up with the beam of light coming out of the top of this thing," she says, pointing a finger toward the ceiling. "It follows the moon; I went out and checked." ...hm. I... think I have a hunch. I need to ask Emili to be sure though. Really? Huh. * Mikel lets the chair come forward again, closing his eyes. I was gonna look into it, but I've been pretty busy. I'd wager it has something to do with Lunar, the Blue Star, and all that. I couldn't say more. That's a retarded wager. You suck at gambling. * Mikel holds up a hand. "Shh." ..? * Trune whoas, understanding Mikel's look, "Wow, he's like...becoming me. Hearing shit. That's sort of creepy." * Saki arches an eyebrow carefully. "... it's something of a trend." I just want to let everyone know I was creepy first. * Angie watches Mikel's face carefully, frowning. * Vytor takes on a stubborn expression, "I refuse to conform. The only voice I need in my head in mine." * Saki rather bluntly tacks onto Vytor's statement a "Half of me would like to point out that she has been 'creepy' for centuries." And even if we're only counting current bodies, I think Saki's older than you, Trune. Aw, damn. I think I just got seriously burned, didn't I? Trune's creepiness is of a more endearing sort. * Saki marks victory with a rather toothier grin than usual. "... friends in high places," she adds. I'm like a bunny with a creepy stare that chatters endlessly to myself. But I look so adorable when I do it! Quite. * Mikel frowns as he ignores the chatter and misses a chance to add onto the burning of Trune. ...oh, so that's what.. Hm? * While the others are joking around, Angie gathers her things and excuses herself. * Mikel blinks for a moment. "It was the pathway between Blue Star and Lunar. Doesn't... oh, right. Doesn't lead anywhere with Lunar gone." * Saki tilts her head. "... makes sense. It's 'real'. To both of us." * Mikel hms, grinning a bit. "So it is just a light that points at the moon now. The real one, that is." ...I need to find out what the hell a heaven's steak is sometime. ...wait, /what/, Emili? * Ryllan looks at Mikel strangely. * Saki has a vague smile on her face as she watches, head propped up on a hand. "... inner monologue. He'll get the idea in time." * Mikel shakes his head. "...Hiro was in that crystal before." ...Well, that's interesting. Not sure it's particuarly relevent. But interesting. Well, he was in there while Lucia was ruling as Queen Virtue because he was deteriorating after crossing over. Mm. So that's why she keeps secrets. * Mikel sighs, sitting back in the chair. * Mikel also gives Saki a look. "Do you give lessons?" * Saki puts her head carefully in a hand. "--that entirely depends upon what." * Mikel blinks for a moment and buries his face in his hands. * Vytor chuckles * Mikel appears to be blushing a bit if one really looks. The ring is probably noticable now too. "You totally did that on purpose... and nevermind, Saki. Different situation kinda. Anyways!" Hey...where'd you get that ring? Ah, it was, uh, a gi-... oh. Oh jeez. * Mikel siiighs. Hm? Man, what is your SECRET? First you...now you're engaged too?! Pandora's in the area around Saturn. ...Then we can't waste anymore time. Who's engaged? Mikel! ...I think. He is? Since when? * Mikel seems to be pointedly ignoring the engagement questions. "She's hunting for Xavier. Emili can... feel the movements, since she has a part of her." Hell if I know. Mikel, what's this about you being engaged? Debate Mikel's marital status on the way. We need to /leave/. Now. I'll go prep our gear to leave then. * Vytor stands up, and heads for the Destiny, still giving Mikel an odd look as he goes. Yeah, we can grill him on the road. Lemme help, Vytor. Sure. * Mikel gets to his feet, frowning. "I'll grab my stuff then. Let's patch up the dragons, too... and I'm gonna have to lose my radio mysteriously, aren't I?" Don't you dare. "Reunite with his other half, huh?" * Ryllan grins, but it's small, "Saki, can you hunt down Angie again? I'll see about grabbing Niri. It's a pity to wake her, but we're out of time." * Saki nods without a word, and heads on out. * Ryllan moves about his business. * Mikel can't help but smirk for a moment. "Oh man, that was good." He steps on out to grab his things and wait by the dragons for Ryllan so he can patch them up. * Vytor (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit (Quit: Quote #231 I once dreamed I was the Blue Power Ranger :P) * Mikel does however stop cold by the entrance, leaning against the wall with his reforged staff in hand. And so with Ryllan and Mikel working together, his trademark curative willforce restores the pair of draconic sentries to fighting shape after they were delivered decisive blows by both the group and Leah in turn. Grateful, the continue to watch the entrance with infinite stoicism. What will they see when next this tale unfolds?
