[00:27] >> Lude goes here and such [00:30] * Saki's room in the infirmary is as quiet as you'd expect it to be given the woman's state whenever she's not actively trying to tear something apart. Having kicked off most of the blankets, she's at least dressed in the lighter pieces of her usual armor, with the addition of a reasonably hefty bandage from one shoulder down across her front. She's cross-legged, making use of the peace to try to think. [00:32] * Tanan knocks lightly on the door. [00:32] «ooc: Didn't cut? Goshs. » [00:33] <> [00:33] * Saki cracks open one eye; with something of a hoarseness to her voice, she answers. "... come on in." [00:35] * Tanan opens the door, stepping inside. "You're awake?" [00:36] * Saki nods, unfolding herself just a little from the stiff pose she's been in and opening her other eye. "Mm," she adds, helpfully. [00:37] * Tanan gently swings the door back shut. "I just wanted to make see if you were all right. I... may have gone a little too far. I'm sorry." [00:38] * Saki shakes her head in a spasm of motion, sucking in a breath. "... heh. It's alright; it worked, and she--I needed it." [00:39] * Tanan closes his eyes for a second. "It's our fault for dragging you into those situations again and again. Are you on top of things now?" [00:41] * Saki does move this time; shifting back on the bed she sits up against the headboard, rubbing her forehead slowly. She sounds perhaps a little distant. "... mm. That's a good question; I'm me again, but not exactly sure who the 'me' is." Huffing out a breath, she rakes her hair in agitation. "... still, I'd rather know than go on as I was." [00:45] * Tanan nods. "It might be for the best to have experts look at you and Ryllan, back at the academy. Would you be up for that? We don't want to put any more stress on your mind than we have to, until we're sure you've recovered. I really didn't expect that would take such a toll on you... though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised." [00:47] * Saki chuckles, nodding briefly. "It's been my plan to squeeze more information out of the Academy for a while, we've just never been getting the chance. I'm ... not really sure what's going on myself." [00:50] I think that'll be our next step, once we leave here. We only have one real clue now that we're done letting the elementalors here go. [00:50] ...do you remember what you and Ryllan.. rather, what those two said? [00:52] * Saki blinks once before she answers, before waving Tanan to a seat. "All of it. I was--there. But not quite. She loves Noah, hates Noah. Thinks he's a bastard." A brief frown. "/Really/ thinks he's a bastard." [00:54] * Tanan hesitates for a few seconds before sitting down. "South then. Something happening down south." [00:54] But I'm not sure we should go there. Not until you've recovered, until we know what's going on. [00:56] * Saki closes her eyes for a long beat; ten seconds, then she points at the wall. "... there. That direction." She opens her eyes again but doesn't drop her arm, staring at it. "... it's like a tug. I'm not sure I have a lot of choice." [00:59] * Tanan stares in the direction Saki's pointing. "I'm pretty sure that's south. The academy's south too... well, southwest, so hopefully moving that way won't make things hard on you. [01:00] * Saki shakes her head. "... I'll fight it as much as I can if it'll give me a few answers, but my--her body's there. A tomb, or something. I'm not sure if it's calling me or her, or if that even makes a difference now." [01:01] If you do have to go, you won't be going alone. [01:02] * Saki pauses a brief moment, then nods in thanks. "Even after today?" [01:05] Especially after today. I can't speak for everyone, of course, but... [01:06] * Tanan frowns. "...I think whatever is going to happen, it'll be important that we're there. It's just a feeling, but... everything that's been happening points south. Maybe she's trying to use the souls of the seekers to revive her body, if that's really a tomb down there." [01:07] * Saki sighs again, rather wearily, and nods again. "'The sins of the past will burden you no longer, Rachel'--" there's a slight tic of her body, responding to speaking the name, "'Our dreams long denied will be fulfilled, and we shall walk the earth again.'" [01:10] * Saki shakes her head. "I'm not sure which side I'd place myself on," she adds, not catching the identity slip this time until a few moments later. "... she's confused and angry and betrayed, but you saw her against Noah." [01:12] Yes. Angry as she was, he was the only one there she didn't decide to attack when he spoke. [01:14] * Saki has the good grace to look a little embarrassed. "... to be fair, when you spoke you had a ball of star in your hand. It made her skin crawl." [01:17] * Tanan looks down at his hands, opening and closing them. "I'm... sorry. I guess I don't react any better to things like her than she does to things like me, I suppose. Rather, energies like that." [01:19] * Saki almost looks relieved, sinking back against a pillow. "... heh, at least we know what works. I can't exactly blame you when I was doing the same thing." [01:25] Mmm. It was like the shadow creatures that attacked the convoy on the way to the festival. I suspect that was one reason I was ordered to come along on this trip. I'd seen them before. [01:25] Like the prophetess, too. But different in a way. From both. [01:25] * Tanan scratches his head. "I guess I can't really explain it." [01:26] * Saki huffs out again. "... I'm getting a little tired of coincidences. ... nnh, the festival seems like an age ago. That line about having an interesting life is right." [01:27] Which, the one about it being a curse? [01:28] * Saki nods weakly. "Boring at least doesn't leave me bandaged and sore, or having attacked my friends." [01:30] * Tanan actually chuckles. "You got the worst of it. Vytor had the sense to just fall over before he got hit too much. Soon as he tipped over she lost interest." [01:32] * Saki grimaces softly. "I've... it's a little like I've flipped a switch. I can feel her a lot better, at the edge of my mind, but at the same time she's just... me." She's picking her words carefully to try to make sense, but gives up with an irritated noise. "... maybe I can get some more information out of this, though." [01:35] Anything you can learn is good, but don't risk yourself. We don't want you to come out of your- her- memories and discover you've been walking south for a week or something. [01:37] * Saki gives another quick nod. "... I was thinking of that. Halim might help; there's a lot of me there to keep myself grounded." [01:40] We'll almost have to stop at port in Meribia to make our way back inland, much as Trune hates the idea. I'm sure we can spare a little time there. [01:42] * Saki actually beams, her eyes lighting up; cracking her knuckles once, she chuckles just a little darkly. "Believe it. No call to the south's going to stop me spending some time there, let alone a kid with some spells." [01:45] Ha! Yeah. Still, we probably won't be able to spend too much time there. There's so much we have to do. [01:46] * Saki looks lost in thought, scratching absently at her cheek. "... you're right. Some time to talk with Master, gather my wits, and show off a little, and that's all I need. I could probably deal with overnight." [01:52] * Tanan smiles, and stands up. "I'm sure we can get you at least that. Take some time to relax there and with any luck, after that we won't stay at the academy long enough for me to stop home or into my office." [01:57] * Saki sighs, and just opts to look weary. "I hope it goes well there, at least. It's unknown territory. ... I think for now I'll just relish the trip home. I've been beating myself up besides the obvious." [01:58] * Tanan nods. "Just rest for now. Is there anything you need?" [02:00] * Saki makes a face. "... fresh air and time to think. Give me a couple of hours and I'll probably be prowling around the ship again. [02:02] Hmm. All right, then. I'll leave you to your thoughts. Glad you're feeling somewhat better. [02:04] * Saki closes her eyes, leaning back against the wall in a rather awkward position. "... mm," she adds. "Thanks. The world's not spinning too badly." [02:08] * Tanan walks over to the door, then pauses, looking back. "If you do decide you need anything, just let one of us know. No sense in your wandering around until you're up to it." [02:08] * Saki makes another face at the thought of being cooped up, but it's gone quickly, and she nods. "Will do." [02:10] * Tanan opens the door. "I'll see you later, then." [02:11] * Saki doesn't answer, settling instead for either dozing or meditating. Hard to tell which. [02:11] * Tanan steps out, closing the door behind himself. [02:11] >> End there because Saki is dull and won't move!
