Session Start: Fri Aug 18 22:12:48 2006 Session Ident: #lunar-iog2 * Logging #lunar-iog2 to 'logs\#lunar-iog2.log' * TheStoryteller changes topic to '-= Chapter 23: Repose | Location: New Raculi | Pools: 3287 §, 6 MXP =- http://storen.rpgcafe.net/IoG/ (let me know about problem with files)' == SESSION START == * Gayo is now known as Angie * Niri emerges from the shower at Vytor's house and heads out to the living room * Niri peers around to see if everyone has gotten breakfast It is now afternoon in Raculi, as a somber air hangs about the town. With the loss of their spiritual leader, the entire town has turned out to servcies inr ecord numbers.. offering their prayers for Ishtar's awakening from the evil curse. Adam is bedridden, the wounds of his body healing rapidly, but the wound in his heart deeper than any magical burn. The whole place seems to be almost deserted and still. The heroes of the people plot their next moves in Vytor's humble home, as a slightly wrecked Destiny lays parked outside. Seems not even it escapes unscathed, but the noble vehicle presses on, and so does the journey for Truth... « you may begin RP wherever you like, though I assume in Vy's place. it is afternoon. » * Vytor is currently hip-deep in the undercarriage of the now rolled-over Destiny, looking very much like the proverbial grease monkey as he hammers and wields with practiced precison. Not far off, the party's equipment has been unloaded and placed under a tarp. << Scratch my previous post! >> * Saki is resting somewhere nearby; a morning of training followed by helping manhandle the Destiny onto its wheels have left her sore and tired out but well-exercised for the day. * Niri , after making waffles for everyone this morning, took a shower and then has spent the rest of the morning humming and scribbling musical notation on a piece of scrap paper. * Trune is sitting off in a corner making notes on a scribbled on piece of paper. He looks rather fustrated though, as if all his research isn't turning up fruit -- yet anyway. * Angie is sitting on the largest of her supply boxes, hunched over a delicate brass instrument. She's bent so far over that her nose is practically touching the device as she makes tiny adjustments to it with a screwdriver. * Tanan pokes at the underside of the destiny with a stick. "I do not understand how you can even tell what is what." * Niri stuffs the paper in her pocket, then jumps to her feet. "Okay, time to go interrogate my parents." Well, I did help build this thing, and I got to see the design schematics, so that helps a lot. * Trune looks up from his notes, "Good luck, Littlebit. Don't take any crap." Leah tags along behind Niri, Shiro as ever in tow. The truth, most the damamge was just stress and structural, so its easy to fix. Just time consuming. * Ryllan is scribbling on a pad of paper of his own, "It's not /that complex/, Tanan. No more so than magic theory, anyway." * Niri slows to wait for Leah. "Did you get any of my waffles this morning? :D " Thanks, Trune. Back in a bit. * Mikel watches the repairs on the Destiny from his seat outside. "That's good, at least. Sorry about the trouble." * Vytor comes up for air and pushes back his weilding mask. "Done!" * Saki all but flops backwards, just letting her body rest. At Vytor's cry she cranes her neck to the side to see. * Vytor collects his gear, and jumps down to the ground again, "Saki? Can I get your assist again?" Magic theory makes sense though. You can at least feel it. This is all.. metal parts and.. metal parts. And a few metal parts. [Leah] They were so good, Shiro even stole two! [Shiro] *arfs and wags tail, looking innocent* No no, see? There's metal parts that look like "L"s, metal parts that look like spheres, and metal parts that look like tubes! * Angie straightens up, sending a sharp pain through her back. Undeterred, she waves her screwdriver at Tanan. "The only reason technology isn't as intuitive as magic is because we aren't good enough at it yet!" * Mikel lets out a groan at Ryllan's comment, shaking his head. "That's horrible." Vytor's reapirs restore structural soundness to the Land cruiser! Though more permanent replacement of it's frame inc ertaina reas needs to be do with a forge. perhaps the Labs could help... * Niri giggles at Leah. "You slept in pretty late, but you seem to be back to your usual self! So, gonna help me try to get some answers out of my parents?" She keeps an eye out as she walks for the nearest TIME station « er done. slow spacebar. ;_; » * Tanan looks skeptical. "Well.. maybe." * Mikel is now known as MikDinner I'm just not getting into this arguement. It can only lead to pain, and whacky gestures. Painful gestures? * Vytor walks over to Saki, leans over her and looks down, waving a hand across her field of view, "Halooo? Wakey wakey." Niri walks about town, finding the amount of people there almost depressing. They must all be at noon prayers in the cathedral. There are a few rare stores open serving necesities in the district, and a small concession carved out of a larger holding attracts her attention. It has a billboard above it advertising "TIME - Distance is the enemy. Beat it with us!" Hm. Painful gestures done in a whacky nature. Either way, so not going there. * Angie probes the device with the screwdriver and is rewarded with an electric shock. * Saki blinks up at Vytor, breathes out a sigh, and hauls herself up to sitting. "Mm. How's it look?" * Saki gets up to her feet as she speaks, cracking one shoulder loudly. The repairs will hold, for now. But some of those parts will need replacing reasonably soon. Otherwise we're walking. Where can we get some replacements? Can you forge them? Aha, there we are! *Heads toward the stand, looking for an employee* Hello, anyone here? Not here. I need specialized equipment for that. My forge isn't big enough, nor are any in town. I need one of the biggies, a S3 at least. Volcanon Labs has one that big though, Jack used it when building the Destiny. Is that...out of our way? Niri finds a young man with glasses and a cap drumming on the table. he looks bored, but when she appears he immediately snaps to attention. "Oh, finally a customer!" Its that, or try to stick to paved roads until the repairs give out again. * Saki nods slowly. "What do you need?" Yep! I have to get in touch with my parents near the Hylan Academy. Can you help me? I need you to help me roll the Destiny back over again. I can't so anything more for it for now. How far out of the way are the labs? I KNOW they're not on the way. They're not. They're southwest of here. And a good ditance away Oh yeah! *She brightens suddenly.* I forgot we were going to the labs. They're bound to be able to forge me some of the weirder parts I need for this stuff. Like, I need a bar that's exactly an inch long, that's way harder to do than you'd think. Okay, what? How hard is it to make a bar that's an inch long? Harder than you think. * Angie gives Trune a sly grin. "You wouldn't think so, right? But it has to be EXACTLY an inch long. Seriously, try it sometime." That should be easy enough. He's got a built in measuring tool for that size <> «ooc: Aw. » [TIME Employee] Parents? Hmm... oh, wait.. you're Niri salyan aren't you! «ooc: hee! » * Vytor sets himself next to the Destiny, and gets ready to roll it over again. "Everyone stand clear please. Ready Saki?" Exactly an inch? That sounds impossible * Trune snrks, "Apparently I gotta." * Tanan moves out of the way * Angie is a safe distance away from the Destiny, but she pulls her feet back anyway, not about to gamble with her toes. * Saki puffs a breath, cracks her knuckles, and nods, stepping over to the Destiny. "As I'll ever be." * Trune steps back. * Vytor nods to Saki, and starts to lift * Saki heeeaaaaaves. * Vytor and Saki manage to roll the Destiny over onto its wheels again. It creaks and groans in the process, but settles once righted. Thank you Saki. * Saki leans against the side of the bulk for a moment, getting her breath back; wordlessly she nods. * Vytor starts removing his work gloves and coveralls, "We're back in business everyone. Start loading your stuff as you see fit. I'll be right back." Sweet. Thanks a lot, Vy. * Vytor ducks into his house to collect his things, waving to Trune as he goes. * Angie slips the screwdriver into her pocket and hops up. She steps over to the Destiny and gives Saki a pat on the shoulder. "Now that you're warmed up, wanna help me load my stuff? " * Trune goes into loading his belongings, which really isn't all that much. * Rune (~kazyr@71.105.72.239) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Rune * Rune is now known as Angharad * Niri scratches her head, a bit embarrassed. "That obvious, huh? Yeah, I need to get in touch with either my mom or dad, or both. Can you help me?" « welcome Rune! » Angie? [TIME Employe] For you, it would be my pleasure. Hold on just a moment while I establish contact with our Hylan division. This should only be a minute... Thanks. * Tanan looks over the piles of gear. "Do you even know what all this does, or are there just random boxes in here?" * Saki looks momentarily stuffed, puffing out another breath; then she straightens up with renewed resolve and all that, rotates a shoulder in thought, and nods, eying the nearest box. "Mm. It mostly survived?" * MikDinner is now known as Mikel The telepath rubs his temples a bit and wrinkles his face up in effort, then his features go very calm. His blue eyes open again after another moment and he grins. "Alright. What is the message?" * Mikel (~randiseri@cpe-24-161-170-164.san.res.rr.com) Quit (Killed (NickServ (Nick kill enforced))) * RyvenAFK (~randiseri@cpe-24-161-170-164.san.res.rr.com) has joined #lunar-iog2 * RyvenAFK is now known as Mikel * Vytor comes back out from his house, toting some kind of large circular block of silver over one shoulder OK, I assume that once we're loaded, we'll try again to see Dr. Sonyele, right? * Hiro (~Hiro@66.50.163.147) has joined #lunar-iog2 I guess. Is she seeing visitors yet? I heard she was kind of whacked out after the attack. * Tanan sets mode: +v Mikel * Mikel watches the group for a couple of moments, offering a slight nod. "Once Niri finishes with her messages as well." * Angie gives the box a very light punt. "Mostly. I'm taking the broken stuff too, though, just to make you work harder." Okay, message to my mom, Lucia. "If you're around, I need to talk to you...we ran into some really confusing stuff and I need some answers. Also wondering about statues at the Virtue Society. Need to talk, we'll try to get back to the Academy really soon." * Vytor loads his pack into the cargo bay, and starts strapping down the silver block. * Niri rubs her temples, hoping that's vague enough not to raise questions with the TIME guy, but specific enough to convey her urgency and suspicions to her mother. * Saki does manage to look a little put-upon this time, before bending to slowly pick up and load crates. "... ng. ... of course. Otherwise it wouldn't be any fun." [TIME Employee] ...nneed to talk... answers... statues?..coming back.. mm.. Got it. * Niri turns to Leah. "Do you think Mom'll get what I mean? And did you think those statues looked kinda...familiar?" * Vytor helps Saki with the loading once he's finished with his work * Tanan gives Saki and Angie a hand with the crates * Mikel gets up to help load up the Destiny as well. [TIME Employee] ..it'll be delivered to lady Lucian Salyan within 24 hours. We gaurantee it! « er Lucia » « damn, alundra out of my head! » * Angie helps Saki with the crates, though there's such a strength mismatch between the two of them that the help is mostly psychological. Thanks, sir! How much do I owe you? * Vytor tries to set things up in the carge bed to allow for seating this time around * Trune sighs and tries to help out, but his strength compared to Angie makes her seem way more muscular than she actually is. [TIME Employee] It's free for you! Risking your life has to have some perks huh? besides, just having something to do today is payment enough. [TIME Employee] well.. at least something other than spread the bad news... * Niri snickers. "Well, okay, if you're sure, then!" She turns to Leah. "You got any business in town, or should we head back to Vytor's?" [Leah] I'm good, I think! I hope your mom understands. I hope so. We were going to try to go back to the Academy to get more answers...but for now this will have to do. OK, is that it for the gear? * Niri heads back towards Vytor's house. "Come on, Shiro! Quit sniffing that hot dog stand!" * Angie disappears into the house for a few minutes, then returns with her smaller case in hand. "Just this," she says, "and I can keep it on my lap or something." The person manning the stand calls out "And remember, unlike the adage, TIME is Always on your side!" * Niri smacks her forehead. * Niri muffles a groan. [Leah] ..who comes up with this stuff? >.> * Vytor jumps down, and dusts himself off OK, when Niri gets here, we can get going. Anyone seen Angharad? Someone who failed literature class? I dunno. * Angie shrugs. Mm.. nope. * Niri returns to Vytor's house in a few minutes Last I saw her she was sleeping and you yelled at us to shut up and stop being boistorus teenagers. * Mikel snickers. "After the great bacon wars, yes." * Saki , now that the Destiny is right way up, leans against it, looking tired but satisfied. You won that round. Next time though...kickin' your ass! * Angharad comes outside of Vytor's house. "Did someone call?" * Mikel grins at Trune. "Eggs, bacon, waffles. I'll win 'em all." Anything I should worry about while driving, Vytor? Bacon wars? What a terrible misuse of bacon. It should bring goodwill and peace and... grease I guess. Hiya Aghraad. We're loading the Destiny. Do you have anything that needs to be stored? You wish, Mikel. Next time...seriously, there will be hell to pay...in bacon. Greasy, artery clogging bacon. * Angharad shakes her head, and shrugs one shoulder to emphasize the pack slung over her back. "I'm fine." * Mikel waggles a finger at Trune, glancing at Niri as she makes her way back. "Everything work out alright?" Heya Niri * Angie climbs into the car, pulling her coatflaps free of the door before closing it. She rolls down the window and leans an elbow out, calling out to Tanan, "How much bacon does hell cost, anyhow?" * Niri waves. "Ooh, did you fix the Destiny?" All done. GOt anyting to load up? I donno, Angie! Few pounds at least? Get your message sent, Niri? * Niri nods to Mikel. "Yeah, I guess. Sent the message to my mom. I hope it makes sense to her...I couldn't very well just tell everything that was happening, especially not about my suspicions. But I said I needed to talk to her." * Mikel nods. "Well, she'll get it. She's your mom and all that after all." I hope so. So, where are we off to first? The labs, I think? Dr. Sonyele I think. We need to see her before we go. * Angharad nods. Oh, true. Should make sure she's ok Is she seeing people yet? And to report the source of the poison that ruined the crops. Those human things we fought may not have been all of them. She wasn't when I was last there. One way to find out! [Leah] Oh yeah! Did you try her house near the fields? She's been locked in there since the attack, I heard. We should try at least. "...So that's where she is? Lovely." What's wrong, Mikel? * Ryllan hops into the driver's seat. * Mikel shrugs as he climbs in. "Nothing. Just worried." * Vytor takes his usual spot in the cargo bay, "Let's get a move on folks." * Tanan shakes his head. "I can't believe I forgot about the poison. These last 20 hours..." * Tanan climbs in * Trune climbs in as well, "Roger, Muscle-man" "Have been a nightmare." Now, I assume someone knows the way? * Vytor flexes at Trune with a mock-expression of concentration * Ryllan starts up the engine. Yes. The vehicle appears to be working fine, engine wise. The damage was all cosmetic and sructural. * Vytor leans out the side and points, "Thataway!" * Mikel leans back, humming a tune. Leah points back the way you came to enter the town. "It's not far out the gates. Just keep an eye out for some robotic thingie ..." « thingies » * Niri fetches her stuff and loads onto the Destiny. Sounds so scientific. "Hey everyone, let's travel the land in search of the 'thingie'." We can also discover the whachamacallit and the whodonglewhazzthat? "Robotic thingies?" * Saki hops up into the back as per usual, with a yawn. Works as well as 'whatchamahoozit' * Mikel pokes Trune in the back of the head with his staff. "Bad." We'll know it when we see it * Ryllan vroom. Bah, you were thinking it too! I'm with you, Trune! *thumbs up* Don't forget the dinglewhatsits. Leah pouts. 'You know what I mean!" * Niri grins and hugs Leah around the shoulders, and tousles her hair. "What fun would life be if we couldn't tease you?" It all leads up to the 'holyfreekycreepsohgoddesswhatisthat'! * Vytor gets comfortable I'd like to request no more of those, Trune. Too many lately. Only it probably would then lead to something with a lot of expletitives that I can't say because it makes Niri all hot and bothered. Noted. * Mikel chuckles, shaking his head. "Hot and bothered? Oh dear." In this town, you get used to all sorts of pseudo-technical terms. The only real verbal red flag is "why is it doing that?" * Angie leans out the window, pointing. "Oooh, I see a thingy. Is that the thingy?" Now psuedo-technical terms I can understand! Just not the ones you use. It has to be a ROBOTIC thingy, Angie. "Because magic psuedo-technical terms are different from technology based psuedo-technical terms." Off the Destiny rolls down the lonely streets as a church beel rings in the distance. The guards wordlessly open the gate for you to pass, smiling a bit as you go. Soon you are out in the farmland... the air is cleaner and cripser here, and the pall of before not so strong. Well, yeah Looks like it worked, what ever you did up there. "Thank the Goddess for some good news then." * Angie cranes her neck around to look out the rear window. "Goodbye, New Raculi," she says, waggling her fingers in a wave. "Hopefully when we meet again it will be under more pleasant circumstances!" The robotic helpers seem to be out more than the people though. But after some time of sarching you notice a relatively new and strudy looking workshop on the left side of the roadway. A pile of silver junk parts lays outside, along with several box-shaped contraptions hooked to pipes and clear encassed vats. Thingies ahoy! * Mikel grins at Angie. "Practicing for the performance?" * Angie touches a hand to her chest, closes her eyes and smiles. "I AM the leading lady, you know." * Vytor raises an eyebrow, but lets that pass * Mikel raises a hand, snickering. "Do I get an autograph then?" * Lucca (dinner@69.42.2.196) has joined #lunar-iog2 * Saki hops out of the back as the Destiny rolls to a halt, glancing around in silence. * Angie shakes her head and makes a sour face. "I can't write in a moving vehicle. Comes out all ooky." Oh, here we go! Just gimme a second. * Vytor follows Saki out once the Destiny comes to a stop * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit (Quit: Doh!) * Angie whips out her notebook and a tiny stub of a pencil and scrawls something out on a piece of paper. She tears out the page and hands it triumphantly to Mikel, then gets to work extricating herself from the car. Saki notices a humanoid shaped droid standing guard outside the door. It's weilding what looks like a an integral rifle, wired to it's "arm". * Lucca is now known as Trune * Mikel takes the page, reading over the scrawl before tucking it away in his jacket. "I'll remember this moment forever." He hauls himself out of the Destiny, glancing around as well. "That looks friendly." * Saki raises one eyebrow, then proceeds to watch the hell out of the thing - very carefully. I think that's our whatchamacallit. Think it shines shoes? Can you blame her for wanting some security? It looks like it might shoot shoes. That count? >> The note reads "To my greatest fan, Mikel. Keep the spark alive! -- Angie Baker" The thing notices the group, turning it's head to look at them with a little red scanner "eye". A harsh buzzing voice issues forth... [Alpha Sentry] Doctor.. not seeing visitors. She'll see us. You hear a familair voice from inside thoguh, cutting the machine off. "No, let them in." See? "Convinent." [Alpha sentry] Override.... please enter, v-visitors. Thank you. It clanks once and moves it's large silver body aside. * Ryllan sighs, "Machines." "If it shoots you for insulting it I'm not cleaning up the mess." * Saki drags a hand through her hair, looks not a little bewildered, and tries stepping forward. The guard robot doesn't move at all, going back to motionless scanning mode. * Vytor enters the house, satisifed that the sentry won't go postal * Mikel moves to follow Saki, eyeing the robot warily. * Ryllan moves past the robot. * Angie succumbs to pique and sticks her tongue out at the robot as she passes by., * Angharad walks by the robot after the party. * Tanan gives the robot a wide berth on the way in The door opens before you, and you are greeted with the sight of a modest workshop. Vytor immediately realizes that a portion is devoted to some type of chemistry lab.. while the other smaller part in a corner is a workbench for parts repair, much like what he was doing on the Destiny moments ago. Behind the foyer is a kitchen and a dining room. * Angharad looks around for the doctor. Dr. Sonyele? In a chair in said room is the good Doctor Sonyele, somewhat haggard looking from a sleepless night. A bottle of liquor is sitting on the table, and the remains of a half-finished salad from the market. * Saki looks horribly out of place. The best she can do is try desperately not to break anything or clatter around; standing arkwardly in the corner is about her limit. She waves with a fere hand to join her. 'Come in... don't worry, the bots won't bite." * Mikel gives the liquor bottle a quick glance to see if its drained before looking at Sonyele. "I'd ask if you were alright... but it doesn't look it, Doctor. What's up?" * Vytor finds a chair that will support his weight, and settles into it The bottle's half empty, and some glasses are set out for you. It looks like some good stuff from out of town, not the local vintage. * Angharad gets right to the point. "Dr. Sonyele, we believe we found the source of the crop poisoning in the Bluetooth area and possibly have addressed it for hte short term." * Angie maneouvres carefully through the room as if navigating hazardous territory. She takes a seat, folds her hands on her lap, and looks around, trying to figure out how to begin. Luckily, Mikel takes the initiative. Sonyele nods tiredly to Angharad. "Thank you for your work. It was probably what I suspected, wasn't it?" * Mikel nods. "Old facility... but there's still people in there. Well, they look like people at any rate." Mikel also gets a nod, but not an immediate reply. "...are you worried about me, Mikel?" What's left of people, maybe. We found there was a leak in a strange facility we found there. There were odd people down inside, however, and I do not know if they had any relation to the contents of the leakage. * Mikel nods. "Quite a bit, between what you said before contact cut off and everything I've heard." Vytor was able to stop the leak, but we don't know if there are still more of those people or what they are doing there. I would not be entirely surprised if the leak returned due to their activities since we were unabel to find out their purpose for being there. * Vytor listens quietly * Tanan stares at Angharad [Dr. Sonyele] *sigh* I'm sorry about that.. it's just something... something happened. I'm not an easy person to spook, but... * Mikel tilts his head. "Do you want to talk about it, or...?" [Dr. Sonyele] ..business first. Please go on with the report, if you would. [Dr. Sonyele] I'd add that whatever you did there has caused the spread to slow down rapidly. * Mikel chuckles. "Vytor's the one who fixed the leak, so thanks should go to him." I'm not sure what else to add. The leak was in an area saturated with radiation, and it remained radioactive even after we left, but we're hoping it will not longer come down to Raculi. <> * TheStoryteller sets mode: +o Trune * Niri listens quietly to the report, thinking about her odd dream [Dr. Sonyele] So that it, eh. That valley must be hiding a very old, dark secret somewhere... I wonder if somehow ancient survivors might dwell beneath the ice? ...I'm really not sure I'd want to meet them, if that's so. * Angie undoes two buttons on her coat and slips a hand inside, withtrawing the dog-eared facility manual from an inside pocket. She flips through the pages until she settles on a diagram of the reactor core. "We found this on them. Anything you've seen before?" Man, how could they live that long if they were survivors? They'd be ancient, indeed. Like, rotting ancient. Although, based on what you told me...creepy. [Dr. Sonyele] It's a mystery that we'll be looking into for a long while. But as long as the flow stays the way it is now, the water table should begin to slowly recover or maintain an equlibrium. The threat of famine is lifted for now. They were alive. But.. empty. Hollow. They ignored us at first, just concentrated on fixing the leak. But once they noticed us, they attacked. Be careful if you send anyone up there They're some sort of.. zombie maintenance crew. or maybe security detail. or both The Doctor looks at the diagram Angie offers and gets a bit of a wide eyed expression. * Saki keeps quiet in her corner; she's all talked out from the last couple of days. "They acted like both, at any rate. Went from fixing to attacking us." You recognize someting, Doctor? [Dr. Sonyele] ...this is the schemtics of a full scale atomic energy grid! In fact, the Labs has an experimental one discvovered deep within the earth that almost matches the engineering layout exactly... ..? Well, this is what's there. The part we fixed was...*She flips through the booklet until she reaches the diagram of the damaged pipe.* Here. * Saki /does/ pipe up now, though. "... there were numbers on their uniforms. ... high numbers. Maybe there's a network?" * Mikel frowns, considering for a few moments. "...is that so." * Angharad wrinkles her muzzle. "What does one of those things do?" The woman begins to look more herself as she is absorbed in the blueprints and guides. * Trune taps his foot as this goes into an area he's not so familiar with. * Vytor waits for Sonyele to finish her analysis [Dr. Sonyele] It looks like an outlet for the collant, by my guess. if you fixed that... it explains everything. The system was dumping waste into an outflow somewhere in the ice fields. « er coolant » [Dr. Sonyele] You really need to go to the labs and show Chrissy everything. She'd be very interested, and more knowledgable than me about it. (w) Heh, what'd I tell you? Field trip. * Angie leans back, stroking the booklet with a slanted grin on her face. "That's the plan. I'm hoping I can ransom it to make up expenses." Sonyele frowns a moment, a thought coming to mind. (m, to Trune) We also need to save the bloo... oh, why do I even bother. * Mikel glances at Ryllan and Trune before returning his gaze to Sonyele. "Doctor?" * Niri frowns [Dr. Sonyele] ...scanning over these reminds me of things I seem to know that I should not... ..? (w) Bwah, I know, I know. Just chill. "...er? How so?" * Saki stays silent in her corner, but now it's far more of an intent silence; she is watching the Doctor very closely now. We're getting a lot of that lately. *She smriks for a second, and then her expression softens.* Anything you can tell us would be helpful. She folds her hands on the table, looking at the bottle again. So what is this that you remember? [Dr. Sonyele] Engineering isn't my career, but I have this draw to it... like I did this once before. * Niri eyes the doctor, frowning. ...Oh you're kidding me. ..? * Mikel frowns for a moment, tapping a finger on his staff. "Once before? As in another..." He glances at Ryllan. "You're thinking the same thing, aren't you?" Weird. It's just like... As in another life? * Trune glances at Ryllan, then Saki. [Dr. Sonyele] I went into biological sciences to help the Blue Star recover, then i end up here... when i look at ishtar I can't help but feel I have wronged her somehow. And wings.. wings frighten me for some inexplicable reason. "Yep." * Angharad furrows her brow, not really understanding this. * Vytor blinks, not quite following the line of conversion [Dr. Sonyele] Then the attack happened.. and.. I can't exactly say what ocured, but I started to remember something. A flash.. a memory... Session Time: Sat Aug 19 00:00:00 2006 * Saki mutters angrily from her corner. She's got a glare she probably shouldn't have. "... ever find doors that aren't there?" [Dr. Sonyele] I saw those winged cymbernetic people and realized I... I MADE them. W--wait, are you saying that... Hm? * Trune frowns, beginning to put two on two together. * Angie narrows her eyes and frowns. She rubs her chin thoughtfully. * Vytor throws a glance at Saki, but returns his attention quickly to Sr. Sonyele The female doctor slumps in the chair. * Mikel frowns, taking a step forward. "Doctor?" [Dr. Sonyele] Then, to add to it all.. instinctually, when one tried to attack me I uttered an override code. It shut down before my eyes. How did I know that? The only explaination as I said... ..? * Saki raises one eyebrow, continuing to listen. * Tanan frowns "...is if you made them to respond to the code?" * Vytor wideeyes as he starts to puzzle things out * Trune bites his tongue, not wanting to tell Dr. Sonyele what he also suspects. [Dr. Sonyele] Ever since then I've locked myself up in here, not able to face anyone. those citizens attending the service for the High priestess... was this whole attack my fault in some strange way? No. It wasn't. No. * Mikel shakes his head. "From the sound of it someone else was using them." I doubt that highly No, it's not. The prophetess's shown a tendancy to love using creatures and things out of the past. This time she just chose a slightly more recent past. * Tanan shakes his head. "The choice of what she decided to dreg up from the past may have been influenced by... whatever this connection is... but she'd have assaulted this place with something else if not them." * Angie crosses her arms and scowls at her lap. "I don't get it, though. You wouldn't even have been born when this happened, I mean you were probably like a little kid during the Unraveling." * Saki frowns at the Doctor for a long moment. "... do the names 'Rachel' and 'Noah' mean anything to you?" ...She doesn't fit the pattern, Saki. * Saki nods, a quick staccato motion. "Even so." She does...but she sort of doesn't. It's like the prohets only she was born...I guess later? It doesn't make a lot of sense. Yeah, this is more like...it seems more like the thing with Lucia, doesn't it? But if you're suspicious, I can do a scan. * Vytor rubs his temples [Dr. Sonyele] A scan? The Winged things are too recent. [Dr. Sonyele] Sorry, Saki. I don't recall those names. There's almost no names.. except.. Virtue. * Saki ... shakes her head. "... no. It's alright. If you don't know, you don't know. ... I'm just fishing for more information." * Mikel mulls over it for a couple of moments, blinking. "Virtue?" * Angie coughs. "I have a bit of willforce I can do to see things. Sometimes it shows me if there's something...wrong with a person." She tilts her head and offers the doctor an apologetic smile. ...we really need to get some answers about Virtue. * Niri frowns. What do you know about Queen Virtue, Dr. Sonyele? * Tanan frowns. "Ishtar and Adam would have been the people to ask, but now..." I've been having a lot of questions about her myself. [Dr. Sonyele] I know that she is loved by all the people here, a tragic leader who sacrificed herself so that Lunarians would live. The usual Society propoganda. Add that to the list of stuff to ask the Hylans about? Or any other seekers we run into, I guess. Yeah, but what do /you/ know? Anything? [Dr. Sonyele] But I know deep down she isn't entirely up to that name. It's just a feeling, like the rest. A fragment of something I can't put into words or shake off. * Niri frowns. "Hmm. Remind me again, how did she sacrifice herself...? Because that part of the story is a little fuzzy to me." * Mikel raises an eyebrow, thinking. "Too many questions. Far too many questions." [Dr. Sonyele] Her and the truth seekers.. used one of the old Spires on Lunar to send people to the new world, when the magic that sustained the old onne began to fade away distructively * Niri frowns thoughtfully, mulling this over. So how does anyone know that she's dead? I remember being sent away through the spire, but that's about it... * Vytor listens and tries to follow along [Dr. Sonyele] If she isn't dead, nobody knows her whereabouts. I've tried asking a simialr question, but no luck. These good natured folk hide something. Those sneaky farmers and their sneaky farming ways...bleh. Everyone hides something, probably. * Angie looks up, fixing Sonyele with a skeptical stare. "You think the Virtue Society knows more?" * Mikel taps his staff on the ground. "You would think /someone/ would, like the Seekers." We're running out of seekers to get answers from, though * Saki leans back against a reasonably non-threatening section of wall, shaking her head and mulling things over. [Dr. Sonyele] /ds *sighs again* I'm sorry to push my problems onto you, but I was right to think you'd understand. « bah » [Dr. Sonyele] I can't just sit here and mop, though... i've got to get my own answers eventually... hmm. « mope » If the Virtue Society knows more....I wonder if there's a way we could get them to talk. * Angie holds up the manual, waving it enticingly. "Maybe we can all find answers together. Want to come with? It's a bit crowded, but we can get to the lab in like a day with this thing." * Mikel glances at Niri. "If Adam recovers enough to talk, maybe?" She pushes herself out of the chair with some effort, lab coat hanging about her shoulders. "...did you crack up the Destiny, by the way?" A little * Niri sighs. "Wonder how long that'll take." [Dr. Sonyele] I heard some stories about that little stunt. So flashy. You're lucky Jack built them like tanks. * Mikel shuts up and rocks back and forth on his heels, the picture of innocence. Adam seemed pretty beat up. It'll probably take a while for him to recover. * Niri raises an eyebrow at Mikel. * Mikel gives Niri a nice big smile. [Dr. Sonyele] Can I take a look at it, Vytor? * Tanan turns to stare at Mikel * Mikel starts humming. * Niri reaches up and grabs Mikel around the neck and gives him a noogie! Sure, its right outside * Trune stares at Niri and Mikel, giving Mikel a look of sympathy. * Mikel gacks as Niri launches her attack. "H-Hey!" . o O ( Least it's not me. ^^; ) * Saki looks on, terribly non-plussed. It's because Trune's too tall to noogie. And also, you were looking way too smug. * Angie leaps up. "I'll come with you!" she says, a little too loud. "I can knock him down so you can noogie him, if you want.... and please let go before I pick you up and find some water to dump you in." * Niri lets go of Mikel but sticks her tongue out at him. * Vytor stands up, in case the Doctor wants a rundown of what was damaged on the Destiny You wouldn't dare! ;) The scientist glances at Mikel, before she grabs a couple measuring tools in a black bag and goes back outside. * Mikel waggles a finger at Niri as he straightens. "Wanna bet?" * Vytor follows Sonyele out * Niri poses. "Come on, I'm a famous adventurer. No one messes with me." She flexes. :eah laughs. « er Leah » * Niri grins at Leah * Trune follows the doctor out as well, unfortunately he isn't overhearing Niri and Mikel's conversation. He seems to be thinking something over. With my trusty sidekick Shiro, there's nothing I can't handle! I think we could make a pretty long list of people who have messed with you at this point though. * Tanan assumes an innocent expression "Bah, the higher you get the farther the fall. I'll unseat you, Salyan!" He glances at Shiro. "Bribe you with a steak if you let me do it." ...Hey. I don't let the facts get in the way of my fun. *Stubborn look* ...I suppose I should have seen that coming * Niri grins cutely at Tanan. * Tanan rolls his eyes and smiles. "Right. Carry on then." Er....where did Trune go? Sonyele asks Vytor for a quick listing, but she bends down and peers at a few places he welded and taps others with a light hammer, among other fancy devices. "Not a bad patch job. But you can't go very far with the load bearing portions so stressed. You need some reforged silver replacements." I think he went to help them look at the destiny. Or maybe to watch them look at it Hrm. Well, should we join the others, or is there something useful we can come up to do in the meantime? Agreed. But I'll need an S3 class or better forge to make them * Mikel shrugs. "I can't think of much, so..." * Trune actually isn't watching the others work on the Destiny. He's once again scribbling some notes on a piece of paper, frowning as something appears to be confirmed in his mind. He scribbles some more, getting absorbed in his work. * Angie gives the Destiny a looking-over with Vytor and the doctor, though she doesn't interject. [Dr. Sonyele] I don't have anything like that here. But the Boss certainly does. As a matter of fact.... I was supposed to invite you there for a demonstration of a new upgrade. * Saki saunters outside, watching the work on the Destiny with vague, muted interest. * Mikel makes his way outside, humming. Really? What kind of upgrade? [Dr. Sonyele] Not my division, but I am the closest representative of the company here in town. Um. Hrm. Good question. I can't think of anything useful to do with the car either, but what the heck. [Dr. Sonyele] remember the portable model in R&D? The first prototypes are supposedly going through the testing proceedures.. and as a specialist, they like you to be thre for the kickoff. THe portable? So we delay. * Vytor gets starry eyed *_* * Mikel ...blinks, waving a hand in front of Vytor. Just imagine, portable forges... She notices his expression and smirks a little. 'Yes. That one." * Trune chuckles, looking up at Vytor, "Down, boy." * Angie interrupts this time, waving a hand to get the doctor's attention. "Wait, wait, back up. A portable silver forge? Like, how big are we talking here?" "You've lost him." I can't wait to see it :D I bet its shiny * Angie goes limp, staring a thousand miles away. "Wow, that would...that would change the world." She says it in a quiet, matter-of-fact tone. "Aaand there goes another one." [Dr. Sonyele] About the size of a man, give or take. It's advanced energy field make it able to contain silver with a much reduced reliance on heavy metal containment. In short: same great results, less to lug around." Doesn't that sound fantastic? * Tanan wanders outside after the others, pausing to take in the scene. "..what'd you guys do to Angie and Vytor?" "The Doctor made them awestruck." * Trune chuckles some more and goes back to work on his notes, "They heard about a portable forge and got waaaay too happy." That's amazing. *She shakes her head slowly, silently repeating her last words.* I can't wait to see it! :D * Saki rakes a hand through her hair, frowning. "... I get the feeling we're off to the labs. ... not that we have any other leads right now; only ideas." * Hiro (~Hiro@66.50.163.147) Quit (Quit: ) [Dr. Sonyele] I was going to invite you regardless of these recent events, but I think we all have some Chrissy might answer. As the planet's foremost authority on technology, she is sure to help you put the pieces together. Eh, something whacky always happens to us. I'm sure it'll be eventful and annoying. Also, probably lots of time with me staring gawk-faced as everyone talks about stuff I have no clue on. What, a forge you can move around? * Tanan doesn't sound or look very impressed. "That could be useful." Perfect! We can fix the Destiny, ask Chrissy some hard questions, AND see the new forge in action! Wonder if Chrissy knows anything "Worth a shot?" Can't hurt to ask. * Angie spins around and grabs Tanan by the shoulders, shaking him vigorously. "You don't understand! It lets you make anything, anywhere." She may not be tough, but she's at least stronger than she looks. I doubt it will let you make food. Unless you can eat silver. "Maybe Saki can cook it into something edible." * Tanan gets shaken a little. "Well.. yeah.. but.. hey! I mean, it's nice, but... I don't understand why you couldn't move one anyway." you can, but it's a bit tricky. You wouldn't want to live on nothing but forged food for too long, but it'll get you by. Don't underestimate science! They'll have that kink worked out eventually too, just you wait. [Dr. Sonyele] Working on it of course. but I'll stick to developing tomatoes on these lovely biomes. That also means being able to forge equipment and parts on the go. Can science get me a girlfriend, Angie? I haven't seen the girls get all slathered up for a forge...though now that I think about some girl mentioned to me once she got turned on by a monkey wr---I'm just stopping right here. * Trune looks down quickly at his notes. * Mikel ...turns to look at Trune. "...what the hell?" Can't answer. Removing my gigantic ass foot from mouth. "I'll have Niri drag it out of you later." * Angie sways back, giving trune a half-lidded stare and fanning her face. "I do declare, Trune! Are you hitting on me?" * Vytor is lost in imagining all the great things that could be sone with a portable forge. * Saki blinks at length; when she talks it's vaguely horrified. "... forged /food/?" * Mikel doubles over laughing, shaking his head. "He wants to get in with someone who'll be famous, clearly." * Trune laughs, and winks, "Oh Angie baby, ever since I saw that that screwdriver, I knew you had to me mine! ..Also, totally hell no. Sorry!" «ooc: me = be » Sonyele folds her arms, putting the tools away slowly. 'It's good to see someone in town is in cheerful mood." It's a reflexive reaction to avoid despair. Just then Trune hears the ECC emit a few beeps * Angie covers her eyes with her palm. "I'll bet you say that to all the girls." She sighs. Hey look! Someone who wants me! Non-sexually! * Mikel takes a few moments to get a few more laughs out, starting to straighten. "...You sure about that?" * Trune pulls out the ECC, "Oh god I hope they don't." «ooc: goddess. hahaha female deities :( » Hey? Dr. Webbly? That you? * Saki mutters quietly, head buried in a hand. "... ohgod." * DrWebbly appears in a faint blue hologram. "Heido-ho Children!" * Tanan blinks, acts like he's going to say something, then gives up Doctor. * Mikel waves towards the hologram. "Heyo, Webster." Webbly. WEBBLY What's the word? I am not a dictionamary. ... Slightly corrupted file there. * Angharad looks at the hologram of the metal man. "Do you have a message for us?" * DrWebbly looks around. "Hmmm. A good question! I left a note to remind me somewhere..." * Mikel chuckles, finding himself a nice patch of wall to lean against. "Ah. Sorry." * Angie gives Dr. Sonyele the same explanation she originally gave Mikel, sotto voce. * DrWebbly ruffles through papers, pulls out a sandwich. Oh, hey. Who is the cute blonde? Sonyele blinks. "We can't project images with voice like that!" * Saki still has her head in her hand. "... it's a long story." * Mikel nods in agreement with Saki. "They still haven't managed to tell me all of it." "Doctor Sonyele, meet Doctor Webbly. Webbly, Doctor Sonyele." Oooh. A Doctor Doctor? Or a scientist? Hi Dr. Webbly! :D [Dr. Sonyele] Biologist, sir. With an interesting robotics on the side. « er interest in » * Saki rubs her forehead, looking pained. "... Doctor, why do you have a sandwich when you don't even--...ngg." She forcibly stops herself, not wanting to know the answer. Ohh. Sort of the opposite to me, I guess. You do much work integrating Adepts? The level of personal training and power is so unbelieveably higher than in my time. * DrWebbly waves to Niri, and answers Saki quickly. "I left it out for Jupiter. He keeps trying to live in juice along." <> Integrating adepts? Well. Surely you could like.. ahmm. Power things.. with magic.. no? "Does this involve putting them into machines or something?" * Niri blinks. "Jupiter is anorexic?" Well, there's plenty of magic-run stuff, but not... * Tanan looks at Sonyele. "Would that work with these robot-things?" [Dr. Sonyele] Afraid not. Though Vulcannon Labs does do such experimentation. Our Epsilon series does mimic Adept powers fairly consistantly. That's what I want to know! We didn't have powerful enough adepts in our time to learn. You have magic robots? That's like twice as cool as a normal robot. Interesting. Do you take a cere-matrix and try to copy an energy pattern? Held in crystal perhaps? The concept of a 'magic robot' seems like an oxymoron of sorts. * Mikel adopts a blank look as the technobabble flows. No no I bet it could work Niri! He's.. you know. Still young. And so serious. He doesn't like wasting time. He's awful at bridge. It doesn't help the lads are telepathic and can cheat. * Tanan looks over at the security bot-thing. "All you'd need would be a way to infuse willforce into the thing as a power source, controlling it should be the same no matter what, right?" [Dr. Sonyele] It's mostly distilled elemental energy fcocused by an Adept and then stored in a silver matrix battery. The field is quite fragile though, and collapses easily under too much pressure. Silver? How odd. * Angie pipes in. "We do everything with silver now." Even toilet paper/ * Mikel grimaces. * Trune grimaces as well, "Ugh, just no." Oh. Anyway, I'm really quite interested in how you make things work. But I don't have any spare comms devices. [Dr. Sonyele] When alloyed properly, silver response very well to willforce. It is cheap to manufacture, and abundant from our old homeland. Good thing you don't want gold, I guess. Hmph. You know Dr. Webbly, I miss you and the Elementalors. It's no fun when you're all alone up there. Oh it's not so bad. I used the printers to print out a Twister mat. Twister? * Trune looks confused. ...Excuse me? "What's Twister?" That sounds painful, whatever it is. With the coloured dots, and the.. * DrWebbly reaches up and pulls a piece of paper stuck to the top of his head. ...I think I want to see Webbly talk to the Headmistress. Or her husband. I bet it would be baffling * Saki sits down - a little heavily - on a nearby tree stump and starts to spend her time just looking pained. Oh! Here it is. Yes, yes. Erm. Have you guys been having earthquakes? [Dr. Sonyele] The West is always prone to that sort of happening. Tremors occasionally at Vulcannon HQ. Why do you ask? Hmm. Can you show me on a map? Heck, /I/ want to see Dr. Webbly talk to the Prophetess. Just think, while she's standing there going, "What the HELL?" we could get her from behind! ... * Mikel glances at Niri. "You'd subject her to that? Cruel." :D * Angie looks flummoxed. "Well, we...we don't really have a seismic map handy, you know. I could probably do one from memory, but it'd be, like, bad." Resourceful! * DrWebbly holds up a big cardboard sweatdrop That's brilliant Let's do it! * DrWebbly and a sad face "Erm, I think we hurt his feelings." Awww, Dr. Webbly, you know it's because we love you. * Niri sweatdrops too * DrWebbly turns his frown, upside-down << . . . >> * Saki whimpers from behind her hair, but says nothing. Anyway. Erm. Let me fiddle with this control board.. Sonyele tries not to laugh and fumbles for a peice of paper. She scribbles a quick map of sorts, which Webbly immediately rcognizes the shape of. * DrWebbly flickers out, replaced by an image of a ball, with squiggly lines on. Have you guys seen the world before? We live on it * Mikel stares for a moment. "Um, not like this, no." * Mikel elbows Tanan. Oh Shit. Sorry. * Niri blinks, peering at it, intrigued. * Tanan shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose Huh, didn't know it was so...round. Don't make me noogie YOU too, Tanan. 'Cause I'll do it. * Angie covers her mouth to stifle a gasp. "Oh, oh wow -- is that accurate, doctor?" Leah oogles the pretty globe! * DrWebbly stops the image on a big blob, that colours in green, and a flashing dot appears. "You are here". Another appears. "Is there anything important here?" It's around the Vulcannon area. Is that a threat or a promise? * Ryllan lets out a low whistle, "...That's where the labs are, innit?" That's up to you! "I think so..." Moderately. Pictures taken from the moon. * DrWebbly giggles. [Dr. Sonyele] That's correct. The Rocky Mountain range. I'm on the moon. "...er, Doctor? Focus." [Dr. Sonyele] You mean Angie wasn't kidding? * Tanan chuckles a little. "So noted." Oh. Yes! * Vytor observes Dr. Webbly's presentation with interest This was California. Erm. Are there.. volcanos there? The images aren't so clear. The Doctor squints. * Angie leans in so close that her nose disrupts the image. "That's amazing! Oh wow, you must have such great geodesic data up there..." * Tanan looks up sharply. "Are those pictures recent?" Well. The general outline is.. [Leah] Oh... the West coast. The no man's land of Kali Forlorn. There's volcanoes up and down it. Oh dear. Would you have decent pictures of the south? * Saki blinks up, sufficiently knocked out of her daze at Tanan's request. Erm. Can you get there quickly? You see.. Uranus, the underground lad is sort of... sleeping uneasily. That's not that far from where we're headed. My WHA- oh. * Tanan coughs South? South of the USA? South America? Point it out on the map. * Trune smiles, "What'd I tell you guys? Stuff just finds us." "Don't make me hit you in the knee, Prof." I'm not sure. South of here. Far south! Are there any ruins or... ruinish things? Ohhhh, another Elementalor. *Frowns* Hey guys...what do you think, Elementalor first, then back to the Academy? Or what? I'll analyze the data, but there's alot of.. mess. Ideally, Academy first. But I suspect that's not really an option? * Angharad shrugs. "I do not know. Everything that has been going on has left me rather confused of late..." You really might want to find and calm and or rescue Uranus soon, guys. * Saki stalks over and peers closely at the globe, furrowing her brow. She absently talks over in Niri's direction. "... let's get over there. And visit the lab before Angie and Vytor kill us in our sleep." * Angie ticks off destinations on her fingers. "Lab, elementalor, academy." * Ryllan just /looks/ at Webbly. * Angharad looks at Webbly. "What would happen otherwise?" Eh, well, knowing the Elementlors, if we do nothing there will BE no Kali Forlorn, if you know what I mean. Yeah, it would be ideal to do it before the killing. Good plan, Saki. "No point in going to the labs, back to the Academy, then back to the labs." He's going to wake up, from the readings. And it'll probably crack at least several volcanos wide open. "...several?" That'd be bad? See? Boom time! Like.. really bad? "Trune, you're not allowed to be right anymore. " * Vytor hrmphs at Saki Well. We never *fully* tested the extent of his powers. Can we get there without going to the labs first? Or is there time to stop and fix up the Destiny first? * Angharad frowns. "Your sleeping 'lads' sure seem prone to restlessness." Sorry to be a killjoy. * Saki is too busy eying the regions south of the green dot on the globe, trying to see if anything triggers a memory. He's in a deep facility, I think. Powered off the heat of the core. What're his powers? [Dr. Sonyele] If you're going anywhere near such dangerosu terrain, you need upgrades to the suspension or some heat treating perhaps. In addition to the fixup. Rock and stone. And such. It might make sense, Angh. If they're all connected somehow, waking up one of them might start to wake up them all "So... earth based then." I'm not an expert in ancient magic weapons though I've found Mars too! She's a cute little firestarter. [Dr. Sonyele] You don't mean the geothermal grid underneath the Labs? "Mars?" Oh. You have the word Geothermal? How cute. * Angharad shakes her head. "How did the lot of you get involved with them and the metal man again?" * Angie glares sternly at the image. "We have lots of words!" * Tanan points at Trune I didn't do it! * Ryllan looks at Trune. "That guarantees you're guilty, yanno." ...Okay I did but seriously! She's sleeping around.. here.. * DrWebbly a dot flashes in Kali Forni * Mikel blinks, glancing at Ryllan. "Add another Elementalor to the list?" Ahh. Asbestos gloves for her, is probably a plan. Friendly Fire isn't, and all. * Vytor (DNW@24.7.108.129) Quit (Quit: ) * Tanan looks at the Webbly-projection. "So we're going to be crushed by rocks and then lit on fire?" [Dr. Sonyele] I'm worried this Elementalor and our experimentations with the grid are connected. Could the staff be agitating a forgotten weapon without realizing it? Well, that fills up my week. Well. You've not had problems so far. You are using the grid? Jupiter zapped us, Mercury blew us all over the place, and Neptune attempted to drown us, if I'm recalling right I don't mean to be picky but I really like not burning "Have you guys ever had a /friendly/ first encounter with one of them?" I don't think anyone does. [Dr. Sonyele] Attempting to bring it online after centuries of dormancy. It could power the colonies easily, and better than our current sources. * Angie lifts a finger. "That was just the crazy part of Neptune," she explains. "Which is admittedly the biggest part." They tend to be a bit disoriented when they wake up, Mikel. Not yet, Mikel. Come now, you don't want them to wander about confused do you? ...this is a lose-lose scenario isn't it Yes. Maybe we can get neptune to douse us all with water beforehand. Ah. I wish you the best of luck, Doctor. But you really should get more sleep. Those bags under your eyes don't suit you. Bad panda. * Saki looks - almost - forlorn at Tanan. "... when we're done here and go to the Academy I want a holiday in Meribia. Or else I'll go on strike."# You guys are getting ahead of yourselves. We need to go after Uranus first. "...Bad... panda? What." ...What's a panda? Why Niri, what a think to suggest. <> * Niri slaps Tanan, having known SOMEONE was going to say it * Mikel winces. Sonyele quirks an eyebrow. SColded by a robot? Now this was certainly new. << Er, slaps him on the arm, not like, in the face. >> * Tanan looks surprised, raising a hand up to his cheek. "...ow." It's like a bear. But with white and black spots. <> << Kill mine too >> You sure about that, Saki? I haven't heard too much but I'd imagine things are pretty crazy there with Bree gone. * Mikel shakes his head. * Tanan winks at Niri, then does his best to look innocent. And fails. Both Franz and Lisa know what they're doing. * Trune rolls his eyes. Things'll have held. * Mikel elbows Tanan again. "Bad Professor." Bad Tanan, no biscuit. "More like no tenure." Oh come on someone had to say it. Besides, I don't think th- wait what we have biscuits? So. Basically. Uranus in the geothermal grid, before he breaks it! Then there's a naval base where Mars was kept. There should also be something to read and transmit the discs the Proffesssor found there. Dr. Webbly, I don't suppose you have access to any pictures? I mean, not now, but I'd be curious to see what some of the old animals used to look like. Awesome way to get off topic, Professor. Tanan's secret weakness is busicuits. We'd better keep quiet on this or the Prophetess'll find out and it'll be all over. I'll poke the archives. And scan for ruins in the south. Any idea what kind? Hey, I can cook biscuits too! Just like waffles! Although Saki's are probably better. * Tanan turns to Saki. "When all this is over, we're all taking a huge vacation." * Saki looks over at Angie, vaguely torn, ruffling her hair in agitation. "... nn. I guess it is, but... I wouldn't mind being /home/ for a while." * DrWebbly looks up. "Hey, Jupiter! You forgot to eat your sandwich! Jupiter?" I can't guarantee we'll have time to stop in Meribia, who knows what crisis will crop up. But it'd be nice. * Niri starts giggling uncontrollably at the idea of Dr. Webbly scolding Jupiter for not eating * Angie sighs and slumps back against the Destiny. "I know the feeling," she says, her eyes wandering toward the horizon. Excuse me fellows. I need to remind the lads they are human. Cheery-bye! * Mikel rubs his forehead. "Gotta go find someone, Doc?" Laters, Doc. * Tanan turns again to point at Trune. "I don't think you.. look, I like biscuits. I donno." * DrWebbly stands up and the imagine flickers with a last faint cry of "Jupiiiiiiii" And Webbly! Before you- dammit "...I suppose its hard to forget you're human when you're supposed to be some technomagical superweapon." ...."Jupii"? S'okay. I like Cherry Pie. I just don't tell anybody that wants to kill me. Oh well, I'll ask him next time. << er, not hard >> You know, I can't help but wonder if he was this nuts BEFORE the accident. * Saki rubs at her face agitatedly. "... alright. Uranus, the labs, then research. ... let's get going," she huffs out. * Angharad sits down and tries to connect getting more Elementalors with the problem involving the Prophetess. "Looking for Uranus and Mars might be a good thing if they cause such catastrophes, but the Prophetess is a catastrophe as well." * DrWebbly is now known as Huw I don't know, Mikel. It's probably not that hard to remember. Or at least pretend. I mean, if you have to eat you'd think you'd remember to eat. We have to go to the labs anyway, unless we're going to secure alternate transport. * Mikel offers a shrug. "Depends which one's going off first I guess, Angharad." We may as well just go throw time away along with the rest of it. Least you can't say we're not busy. The Elementalors didn't help against the Prophetess, so I'm trying to understand your process of prioritizing which to go after. She's a catastrophe we can't do anything about right now though, Angh. Well, the fact they may blow off the west coast is reason enough. Learned that one the hard way. And... "No idea where the Prophetess is. Idea where the Elementalors about to explode things are." We don't inhabit the west coast though... Too, we have to be in that area anyway. The Elementalors are dangerous if left where they are, don't forget. We don't know where she'll strike for one, and for two... right. Like they said * Trune shuts up for a moment, his expression growing a little darker. He shoves his hands into his pockets and stares at the notes splayed all over the ground. Besides, Webbly made it sound like the more of them they get up there, the more power they can put in the systems. If we unite them all maybe they'll be useful when... * Niri eyes Trune. ...well... when the time to do what they were designed to do comes. * Saki shrugs, tacking on a blunt opinion. "When it comes down to it, we have no idea where to go next apart from conduct research. I'd rather not see large swathes of country blow up, and the Labs might know something." * Mikel glances at Trune, leaning to whisper to Niri. (m) "What's with him?" (w) I dunno. * Niri pokes Trune in the shoulder. (w) Ow. What? [Dr. Sonyele] WE need to go warn Chrissy about this . I'm ready to leave if you are. I need a change of scenery. What are you looking at so intently? * Angie brightens. "I'm glad you're coming along!" She leans in close and stage-whispers, "Word to the wise -- if we get attacked by huge monsters, stand behind the big people." * Saki frowns and rubs at the back of her head before clambering into the Destiny. "... another ruin. nn." Something strikes her, and she frowns, leaning over the edge to peer at Angie with a puzzled expression. Uh...Just uh... * Mikel waits for Trune's answer, tapping a finger on his staff. * Trune leans down and begins to pick up his crumpled papers, "Just not ready to throw in the towel, I guess." What are you working on? * Angie raises her brow, giving Saki a wide-eyed stare in response. "Hmmm?" Doctor Sonyele chuckles once. A little hovering robot that looks almost like a hexagonal shape arrives behind her as she bards the Destiny. « boards » * Saki considers for a moment, then taps the side of her head twice with a finger. "... why do you think Rachel hates the feel of the Elementalors?" * Mikel blinks at the robot. "Erm, Doctor? Is that yours?" * Trune shakes his head, holding up some of the scribblings for Niri to see. There's a lot on the Elementlors and various locations they could be at. There's also a section that has a small web graph that seems to have Soneyle connected to...Ishtar? [Dr. Sonyele] A Delta model. It's a defensive creation. Just incase. * Angie frowns; her eyes take on that distant, empty look that she gets when deep in thought. "That's a good question. They're from totally different periods, right?" She shakes her head. "I give up. We'll have to ask her." ...What if it's about the heresy of the Prophets? * Mikel ahs and nods. "Never hurts to be prepared, I guess." He glances at Trune and Niri. "Time to go, it seems." * Saki nods. "... mm. It might just be me; we'll know when Ryllan steps in there," she adds, a not-very-pleasant smirk appearing briefly before she winces. "About asking her... I've had a thought about that." Yeah. Can't keep 'em waitin'. * Trune folds the notes and stuffs them into his backpack. * Angie walks over to the cab so she doesn't have to raise her voice to carry on the conversation. She leans against the door, looking away down the road. "Do you think you can?" * Saki frowns back over one shoulder, talking at the window. "... maybe. Don't know yet. Worth a try, though. If not... ...maybe hold me down and scan me again until she bites." She sounds tremendously uncertain about the idea. * Mikel lets out a slight yawn, making his way over. "Remember to stop if we find some water I can throw Niri in." Heh, we can throw her out while the Destiny is moving. Projectile Littlebit! Excuse me? O_o Don't you dare try it! *Brandishes her boomerang* * Angie chuckles humourlessly. She doesn't sound too thrilled at the prospect herself. "I'm trying to refine the scan a bit. I might hit up some of my old profs at the academy, see if they can help me out with it." Aw c'mon. You're small and light...I bet you'd fly really far! Break records! Become famous for being a human cannonball! Angie finds out that Shiro has been sleeping in her seat through the entire conversation, a white tailed puffball keeping it a little chilly. Why're you dunking Niri again? * Niri heads back to the Destiny, still arguing with Trune and Mikel. Because she's Niri? * Ryllan hops into the driver's seat with a sigh, "Let's just get going. Sooner we get started with this, sooner we can get back to that whole crazy lady wanting to destroy the world thing." * Saki nods once without answering, then sits back up in her usual spot against the cab. * Trune looks like the picture of innocence. Only he's Trune so that doesn't really apply. * Tanan stops to think about that. "Oh." * Tanan follows the others up into the destiny * Angie pokes Shiro, trying to rouse him. "Guys, it's an emergency," she says, voice thick with mock-distress. "Vengance for being noogied." The Ice Mogrel whimpers once and sulks off to Leah's seat. ^^ * Angie climbs in. "Sorry, boy. We're running out of ass space in here." * Tanan (~Nehn@dynamic-acs-24-239-126-40.zoominternet.net) Quit (Quit: ) * Etir (~Nehn@dynamic-acs-24-239-126-40.zoominternet.net) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Etir And with that the group prepares for the next elg of the jouurney.
