* Storen changes topic to '-= Interlude 13.1: Estranged | Location: Hylan Academy | Pools: 937 §, 3 MXP =- http://storen.rpgcafe.net/IoG/ | OOC chan: #iog-ooc' == SESSION START == Fresh from the cafeteria and their enjoyable meal of cake, the group scatters to begin preparations to leave the unviersity town and head west. Niri strolls along the large open Quad, crowds of students hanging out, both studying and goofing off... within this throng, she spots a familiar McVrey. (Thankfully not the old man.) * Niri strolls over toward Trune, her hands in her pockets as she enjoys the spring sunshine. She stops a few steps away from him and raises an eyebrow. I hope you're not moping. Because if you are, keep in mind that a noogie is a very real possibility when you are sitting down. * Trune is staring out into nothing, sitting near a bench that doesn't have too many people around him. He starts at Niri's voice and jumps back again, "Oh Goddess when did you show up? Are you a ninja or something?" «ooc: again = a bit. Golly I stink » * Niri sniggers. "Yeah, didn't you know? I've been taking lessons from Saki." Heh. Noticed. * Niri flops down on the grass nearby, legs outstretched in front of her. "So? Are you going to have a nervous breakdown, or are you okay?' * Trune glances at Niri for a moment, and shakes his head, "If you mean I'm gonna go postal on the students and staff then no...but no, I'm not okay either. I just got freakin' disowned." ...Point taken. But uh...I bet this isn't too comforting, but if my dad acted like that, I'm not sure I'd want to be part of the family in the first place. ^^;; Although granted if I got disowned I'd probably throw myself off a cliff or something. But uh, don't try to emulate me or anything. My family's....different. ...You know you're really lucky, don't you? Why, because I get along with my dad so well? * Trune nods a little, picking at a spare blade of grass poking out of the walkway with his boot, "Yeah. You and your Dad get along really well...he dotes on you and pretty much accepts who you are." I'm not sure how you get along with your Mom...but mine...heh, she's pratically non-existant. So no matter what you find out with those two you've got something really important. Don't forget that. Yeah. ^^; Well...sometimes I find it really hard to talk with my mom, but we get along okay I guess. Which reminds me...I hear she's in town. I've got a few things to ask her about. >:/ * Trune nods a bit and goes quiet again, picking at the grass with his boot. At least I think I've figured out what the problem was with my kitten theory! * Trune blinks and glances upwards, "Kitten...oh! Yeah, that...are you actually gonna tell me about it?" I guess! I always felt a little self conscious about it because it sounds silly, but I suppose that doesn't make it any less right. But I think I get why your dad hated it so much. He doesn't really drown kittens, you know. I found some old books on medical practices and ideas about healing in the library. ...Well, yeah, I know...I was just really mad. Yeah...I noticed that. So um. I found this book that was talking about ways to get people to heal faster. Turns out some people used to heal more easily if they were in contact with animals, like dogs and cats. Something about the effect on the body and the stress level... In fact, petting a cat is supposed to have a calming effect. * Trune nods a little, a slight bit of confusion on his face, though it's not apparent if it's over Niri's story or something else. So anyway! I was thinking we should be able to use that in conjunction with willforce. I suggested that animals should be allowed in the infirmary. And another thing, shouldn't healers have contact with animals too? I mean, an infirmary pet would form a bond with both patients and healers. And it fosters a caring attitude. After all, how can a healer properly heal if they don't care about their patients? I mean, willforce is all about making what you will to happen. How can you heal someone if you don't truly care about wanting them to get better, if you don't care about THEM? So having kittens around would be a good thing. Also, caring for a pet is a good way to rehabilitate someone who's been severely injured. It gives them something they can work at while they recover. Anyway, your dad thought my ideas were stupid and silly. He threw me out when I brought in a cat to demonstrate. Your idea actually isn't half bad. There's only one problem I see with it. ...That's how the cat got turned blue, too. The ink fell over on it when your dad slammed his hand down on the desk. Oh? Allergies. Someone is bound to bitch at it....and if it makes you feel any better my dad was allergic to cats. Ah. ^^; That explains a lot. But wait...ink spilled on it and it turned BLUE? Who's cat was this, again? But I still stand by my point! In some situations it might be a good - oh, uh. Haylee's. ^^;; * Trune 's face, which was pretty stony and sullen before, cracks slowly into a grin as he tries to repress a chuckle, "Oh Goddess...wait, you took HER cat? Why her cat?" I had regular voice lessons with her! ^^; I play with her cat all the time. He likes me. So I asked if I could borrow him for an afternoon. And...*snrk* What'd she do when she found out? Er. Well, if you know Haylee...all she has to do is give you the LOOK. That was pretty bad. Anyway, it only took her a moment to put him back to his usual color...it's not too hard with her magic and the headmaster's, after all. But she still wasn't happy. Or...well, actually, she might have been. She has this way of scowling but almost smiling. She might have found the whole thing hilarious, for all I know. But Mom grounded me for a weekend anyway! ;) * Trune has a small smile, "Heh. That beats me getting locked in the closet, that's for sure." ...Locked in the closet? Dare I ask? :o Geez...think I mentioned it. I had a friend tell me that there was this broom closet that lead to the Headmaster's office. I totally believed him because I was six so I traded a couple of cards and a piece of bubblegum and he told me where it was...and it freaking locked on me. * Niri snrks, covering her mouth with her hand to muffle the laughter. "...I'm sorry. It's just...snrgk." Oh come on! I was six years old! Imagine being six and getting locked in a closet with nothing but mops and cleaning fluid! I must have been stuck in there for hours! My Dad got real mad but he said I wasn't the only one who fell for that story. Awww. But the question is, what would you have done when you found the headmasters' office? * Trune begins to look a little lost again, but then blinks at Niri's question, "...Uh...to be honest...I didn't think that far ahead." * Niri giggles. "Well, like you said, you were six." I probably would have told him that he was awesome and I wanted to be like him when I grew up. * Niri laughs out loud now, not bothering to hide it. So...what do you think now that you've actually met him? He's a little strange, but okay I guess. He's not as big and imposing as I thought he'd be. Well, heroes tend not to be. Take it from me, I live with two! But he seems nice enough. I kind of like him better, not being all imposing. You know? ...Also he likes pears. Always a bonus. Almost as good as ice cream and strawberries! ;) And chocolate. ...Hey Niri? Something's been bugging me, and this may sound sort of dumb, but...why'd you get so pissed off at my Dad? I mean, you knew him before and you obviously know he's got anger issues but...dude, why'd you step on his freaking feet? * Niri grins. "Um...it was fun?" She tones it down and gets a little more serious. "Well...yeah, I knew he was like that to a degree, but...it's different when a professor is getting upset at a class. He behaved inexcusably in public, in a way that doesn't suit someone from the Academy. He made a private matter public. And let's not forget physical abuse. Unless that slap was supposed to be a challenge to a duel or something. :P He was mad. In some ways maybe... Niri, do you think he's right...in terms of my ideas being absolute crocks of shit? Well...maybe eventually he'll see reason. What? No! Why on earth would you think that? O_o We have proof you were right about the Elementalors! Yeah but...I didn't exactly figure out they're superweapons or anything like that. It changes things a lot. Well...that is kind of a tricky business. But I'm sure it'll all work out! So...how is? Need more ice cream, or are you good? ;) * Trune shrugs, though his face is a bit less troubled, "A bit better, thanks. S'gonna take me a while to get used to the fact I've got no home, though. I'll...be okay in a while." Of course you've got a home! What else is the Academy? *gestures across the quad* Er...well, you kinda knew what I meant, right? ^^; Well, yeah. But I'm trying to point out that no matter what your dad says, not everyone's abandoned you, just him. * Trune leans back against the bench, this time actually looking ...perhaps relieved? It's hard to tell, "Thanks, Niri. I appreciate that." You're welcome! ^^ Eep, I gotta go. Need to find Mom and talk with her before we leave. *Bounces to her feet* Okay, now, make sure you stay cheery, Sunshine! *Shakes a finger* Heh, sure thing Princess. * Niri sticks her tongue out at Trune and runs off. * Trune shakes his head and mumbles to himself, "Goddess, she's so annoying." However, underneath his rather troubled face is a somewhat thankful look in his eyes. ==TEH END==
