Ever the resourceful crafter, Vytor has made it a point to gather up supplies and make a list of improvements to his gear he'd like to make. After a good few hours, he sits down on a bench outside the market to catch his breath.. but just as he does so, a familiar professor approaches. * Vytor digs a scratchpad out of his pocket, and scribbles down a few notes that came to him earlier. Hard at work, I see. * Vytor look up at Tanan, "Oh hey! I didn't see you there." * Storen sets mode: +m Oh, don't worry about it. I just got here, was getting a few things in town. You have a minute or three? * Vytor puts his workpad away, "Sure. What's on your mind?" * ZackStudy is now known as ZackPacking * Tanan walks over to a small wall beside the bench, and leans back against it. "You're a smith, a creator. Weapons, armor, vehicles apparently.. you trained with one of the best. I wanted to know what you think about these.. living weapons." Those Ela..man..ter..lers? Or however you pronounce it? * Vytor thinks * Tanan nods. Well, its a little hard to say exactly. I mean those beings are potent, no question there. And if what we've larned is true, they were meant to be weapons of some sort. But from a metaphysical standpoint, I'm not sure if they're simply able to tap into forces at a level we can only imagine, or are they embodying them in some way. I don't really see any reason to doubt them, seeing what they could do. There might be a few people at the academy who could match them, but probably not more than a handful. * Tanan smiles. "I see you're looking at it from a technical view. I suppose I should have expected that, I kind of did myself at first. Wonder what makes 'em tick. What I'm really asking though.. do you think maybe the people who made them went too far?" Heh, force of habit. * Vytor thinks again You make a sword, that's not good or evil. You can use it for either. But if you could make a sword that could swing itself.. would you? Well, I think it depends actually on the intent. The question one needs to look at, isn't how that works, but the intent behind it. Take the swinging of the sword. It could be strictly for show, or to disarm an enemy, or to cut ropes or bonds, or hack a man to bits. What was the intent when it was made? That's what we're not clear on. True enough. What was it the doctor said? 'Remote destruction', or something along those lines. Doesn't sound very benign. * Tanan shrugs. "Of course, if the only way to protect yourself..." No, it doesn't. But when you give a weapon a will, that muddles its purpose somewhat. I guess I'm just a little worried about what we're setting loose. It's all well and good to try to wake them and get them to help against this prophetess, but... But? * Tanan trails off, then shrugs again. "Like you said, they have a will of their own." Here's how I see it: we've seen what the Prohpetess can do, right? So in all seriousness, if we go after her with out own pwer and skill, she's crush us like bugs. We need help. And if the Elormanteelos want to help, I say we make use of them. The ones we've found have been...fairly decent so far. Kind of. Yeah... I guess that's got to be a bit more personal for you than me. If they're willing to help, I don't see why we shouldn't take it... although wonder what they'd do after... * Vytor shrugs, "Its no different than asking ourselves what we intend to do afterwards." I don't think you were made to blow things up from a distance with lightning, though. * Vytor chuckles No, I suppose there's a big difference there. But what's our alternative to using their help? I'm sure if we asked the Prophetess to stop what she's doing, she'd say something crazy-cryptic and keep doing it anyways. Asking her to please stop and having it work would be nice, though. You're probably right as far as her saying something insane goes. Unless Johnathan Haylee has a better idea for us, I don't see what else we can do. * Tanan folds his arms over his chest. "Yeah. I figure they would have contacted us if they did, but it can't hurt to ask." I'd really like to get some more information. This chasing after the Prophetess and learning nothing concrete is getting old. She wants us to follow along, so maybe that means we'll learn something. This isn't getting us any closer to helping Jack, though, or any of the others. If Johnathan knows something, I hope he's willing to share. What the heck does she possibly want us to 'witness' anyways? She's had dozens of people witnessing her. I wish I knew. She called us 'seekers'. ...you know, I have no idea why they called the group from before the unravelling seekers either. Maybe we should ask them? Before they all get smoked? * Tanan nods. "It almost has to mean something. And there's not a whole lot left, are there?" No, unless she decided to expand her definition. That's a chilling thought Would you put it past someone that warped? I wouldn't. I'm not so sure she's actually crazy. She doesn't seem to mind collateral damage, but she goes in clean for her target every time. Purposeful. She's crazy enough. * Tanan pushes away from the wall. "Maybe you're right. I don't know whether to hope you are or aren't." We'll find out, eventually. What happenes after that is up for debate. * Tanan takes a few steps forward, then turns around to face Vytor again. "Maybe we'll have an answer by then." Here's hoping we'll like it then, eh? * Tanan grins. "Here's hoping." * Storen is now known as Storen-zzz * Tanan sighs, looking up to check the sun's position in the sky. "I should get moving if I'm going to get everything done before we get moving. Long way to go again, and not too much time to do it in if we're going to meet her out in Raculi." Make sure you grabs some supplies that you might need, Its a long trip. I think I might grab a little extra dried food or something. I'm sure Saki has thing covered there, but who knows. All right, seeya back at the truck later, then. Seeya. * Vytor figures he's rested long enough, stands up, and grabs the box of supplies he was carrying earlier, and heads for the truck. * Tanan wanders off in the other direction, looking for a shop -Finished! Rank: B- * Tanan is now known as Etir * Vytor is now known as DNW We missed some bonus points Alas. Unless we get A rank, we'll never access the bonus dungeon I would have given it a B+!
