Session Start: Fri Apr 21 22:18:29 2006 Session Ident: #lunar-iog2 * Logging #lunar-iog2 to 'logs\#lunar-iog2.log' * TheStoryteller changes topic to '-= Chapter 11: The Summons | Location: New Takkar | Pools: 937 §, 3 MXP =- http://storen.rpgcafe.net/IoG/ | OOC chan: #iog-ooc ' * TheStoryteller sets mode: +m == SESSION START == Having repulsed the Prophetess summoned creatures, the residents of Takkar would be celebrating that night... but a pall hung over the noble defenders as yet another champion of Virtue's Lunar has fallen into the dreamless sleep. Celyna arranged for you all to have quarters for the night, and wished to see you later that day to discuss plans for what to do next. But it would seem that is not the only council going on... * Vytor is up relatiely early, finishing up his work at the alchemical forge For the record, Emiria doesn't seem to be with you, having her hands full studying with some of the citizens on how to improve their gun batteries. * Niri yawns and slides out of bed at a fairly reasonable hour, getting dressed and going to hunt down the others. * Saki spent most of the evening and night well out of everyone's way; even now, she's sitting to one side more in the corner than anything else, and looking more troubled than normal. Possibly. It's hard to tell. * Angharad sits in the shadow of a ruined building, pondering over just what she had gotten herself into and if she can still get transportation back to the excavation site. * Trune is sitting on a bench near where the party stayed that night. He's going over some hand scribbled notes but his eyes are drooping every once in a while. It's obvious he didn't get that much sleep. Leah is in the room near Niri, as she's mumbling in her sleep... it looks like she's not having the most restful time of it, the sheets scattered and rumpled. Shiro is on the bed faithfully, though, reufsing to be knocked off by the rough cloth landscape. * Ryllan is up with the birds, and upon noticing the majority of people up, quietly makes rounds to everyone, asking them if they'd join him for breakfast-cum-insane-planning-session «ooc: Everyone he can find, anyway. » * Angie went out shortly after the attack and didn't reutrn all night. She finally shows up in the late morning, toting a leather sack with the strap slung over her shoulder. * Vytor agrees to Ryllan's plan without fuss * Trune nods a bit as Ryllan makes his rounds towards him, gathering up his stuff for the meeting, "Was kinda expectin' it." * Saki only nods curtly when approached, not making eye contact or even a verbal assent. Her lips move as she talks through something silently. * Angharad doesn't expect to be included in the planning so doesn't move when she sees Ryllan about. * Zack is now known as ZackStudy * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit (Connection reset by peer) Professor Tanan agrees with Ryllan's plan, following him to get a table ready in the local inn/general store, named "Takkar Pete's - Bed, Breakfast and Bullets". * Angie loses some of her humour, but she puts on a smile "Sure," she answers, jiggling the sack. "Got some nice local sausage." * Vytor finishes his work, and sets off to where the meeting will be held * Vytor offers a hearty "good morning" to those he finds along the way * Niri goes to check on Leah and see how she's doing this morning. She knocks on the door... "Leah? Are you awake?" * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Trune * Niri tells Ryllan she will be there as soon as she checks on Leah! * Ryllan , having made his rounds, settles in at a large table, long enough to hold everyone., grabbing breakfast as quickly as possible, just to be ready. [Leah] ...L-luna...g-huh? *blinks awake* * Niri opens the door and peers in at Leah. "You okay? Feeling any better this morning?" * Trune grabs a bit of breakfast before plopping hmself down at the large table, "Guh...man...I think I'm gonna need another cup of coffee." * Vytor enters the inn, "Morning Trune. Morning Ryllan. Need a hand?" Shiro barks, running towards the door. "Oh, Niri? I'm sorry... I'm fine now, just not sleeping too well. Maybe the bed is giving me nightmares." * Saki hauls herself over to the table and slumps down in a corner seat, mumbling under her breath for a moment more before she draws herself up to her full height. S'yeah. Pull up a chair. Apparently we're gonna butt heads...er...poor resources or somethin'. «ooc: pool, wtf :( » * Vytor helps Ryllan set up * Angie hauls out a seat next to Ryllan and plops herself down, grabbing a bowl of complimentary nuts and scooping out a small handful while waiting for a waiter. When she finally gets a chance to order, she asks for a chicken dish and black coffee. Leah shakes off the groginess and runs around the room in a white haired blur, getting dressed and ready to head out after her adventurous friend! * Niri looks not totally reassured, although it is encouraging to see Leah with her usual unflaggin energy! "Want me to wait for you? Ryllan's having a meeting." * Vytor settles into a chair, and sees about getting some breakfast [Leah] A meeting? We shouldn't miss that! The service here is prompt, if a little on the gruff side... you get your food without much trouble. Angie's coffee's real strong. * Trune sips his coffee and mumbles a curse as he nearly burns the roof of his mouth. * Saki still makes a face at her food, though. Quite the egotistical little chef she seems. * Vytor munches on some mixed nuts, and dried fruits * Angie leans forward on her elbows and looks around at the empty seats. "Missing a few," she comments blandly. Leah prods Niri forward, eager to see what their friends are discussing without them * Trune blinks as Niri and Leah come forward, scanning the table, "...Aren't we missing someone?" * Vytor looks around Anyone seen Angharad? I think I saw her earlier this morning. Dunno if she's still there though. Want me to check? Could you please? Go on. If you don't mind, trune. * Trune nods and stands up, stretching as he goes, "Yeah, no one likes to be left out of things. I'll be back in a few." * Niri hurries downstairs with the impatient Leah! They walk into the room where the others are discussing things. * Angie shrugs. "She's not really a part of the group, so it'd be OK without her. But if she wants to come we can use as many heads as possible." Morning Niri. Morning Leah. Niri, Leah. Glad you came. * Trune glances back at Angie and shakes his head as he heads out the door. She's stuck with us this far Angie. Can't hurt to have her input, if she wants to provide it. Leah waves. Shiro yaps a couple times, like he's trying to say something profound in puppy. Morning all! What's for breakfast around here? And what are we discussing? * Niri wonders if she can get a hold of some waffles * Trune heads back to the area he thinks he saw Angharad at, sprinting past a couple of damaged buildings as he goes, "Hey! Ang! You around here?" We haven't started the meeting yet There is a menu posted. It has waffles! * Niri delightedly orders waffles! Hot ones, with melted butter and syrup. ^_^ * Angharad 's ears prick up when she hears Trune. "Yes?" she asks. There's also a lot of styles of grits available. * Angie picks a lone peanut out of the bowl and picks at it, carefully separating the halves and staring at them for a long time before eating them invidually. * Niri blinks. "Hey guys? What are...grits?" It sounds like some sort of edible sand or something. * Angharad stands up and moves out of the shadow, suddenly a lot taller and more noticeable than before. Never tried grits before. Ryllan's starting a meeting...I guess to discuss all the crap that went on yesterday. I know you're just tagging along for now, but we'd appreciate your imput, if you wanna join us. You want my input? * Angharad tilts her head to one side. Well, uh...yeah. Hm... all right. * Angharad nods and follows a pace behind Trune. Good. Follow me, they're in the common room stuffing themselves on waffles and coffee. * Niri figures she'll try a small bit of grits, just for the heck of it. * Saki shakes her head and spreads her hands in a nervous twitch on the table; she looks up at Niri and all but latches onto her question in avoidance. "It's like a corn porridge. If you want to try it, get something to eat with it." Hey Leah! What are you having? * Niri gives some of the grits to Shiro to see if he likes them! * Vytor polishes off a piece of toast, and pushes his plate away * Niri nods to Saki. "Ah. Good thing I'm getting waffles then!" [Leah] Well.. uh.. waffles are great. Shiro sniffs at the white grains a few times, licking her hand. He doesn't seem to like it that much though. Hmmmm. Not too good, huh boy? *Niri tries a bite experimentally.* * Trune opens the door to the common room and waves to the group as he sits down, "Found her." * Niri waves. "Morning Angharad!" * Trune then takes a sip of his coffee and swears as he burns the roof of his mouth again. >_< Glad to have you, Angh. Morning Angharad. * Angharad nods to everyone and finds a seat. "Sorry, everyone. I did not realize you wanted me to come." * Niri proceeds to drown her waffles in syrup. It's not a problem. No harm done. At least you're here now. So I think we can start Niri more like slurps it from the bowl she's given. It's a little unsweetened, but the cornmeal fills you up quite nicely. * Trune looks at Niri, "...Are you really going to eat that?" ...Why wouldn't I? Well, it's just I'm thinking you could have a waffle boat with all that syrup on it. * Saki puffs out a sigh, raking her hands through her hair. She glances over at Vytor with worry, muttering quietly. "... want me to go first or last?" * Angie is finally served, and eagerly digs in. She's more serious than usual, but it doesn't seem to have blunted her enthusiasm for the local food. * Angharad glances around at everyone talking and then down at the menu. If you two are quite done, Trune? Er, uh...sorry. * Niri glances at the waffles, then at Trune. "Well, the grits are a bit bland, so I need the sweetness! Want a bite? It's good." Oh. Uh. Yeah! Let's talk. Sorry. *Stuffs a bite in her mouth* Hokay. * Trune eyes the waffle, then actually looks a little dissapointed as Niri stuffs it in her mouth, but does his best to hide it. * Vytor leans over to Saki and responds quietly, "Depends on how much faith you have in us. If you think your news will change our plans, then go first. Otherwise, go later." Angharad finds the selection more than adequate. There's plenty of sausage dishes, too, if she has a taste for meat in the morning. * Niri scoots her plate a couple inches toward Trune and listens to Ryllan as she munches. * Ryllan spreads his arms, "So. If any of you hadn't met the Prophetess before... well, now you have. Welcome to the club. You've all seen what she can do, and who she's trying to do it to." * Angharad orders an omelette stuffed with a sick load of meat and then some sausage on the side. * Saki scowls for just a moment. "... I was hoping for a 'yes' or 'no'." But she quiets, listening to Ryllan's introduction. (w) Its not my place to say, Saki. * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit (Connection reset by peer) * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Trune So, what do we do about it? If anyone has any thoughts, now's the time. * Trune tries to sneak a bite of waffle as Ryllan talks, and actually has a slightly approving gaze as he chews. * Saki sighs out again, then nods. "I've... a few things." * Vytor gives Saki a reassuring look as she speaks up * Angie leans back in her seat and gives Saki her full attention. * Niri continues to enjoy her waffle, but ponders Ryllan's words. "Ummm. Well...I don't know, what CAN we do against her? For that matter, where does she get all that power from in the first place? It's pretty weird..." * Niri stops and listens to Saki though. Go ahead, Saki. * Trune actually stops eating and gazes at Saki, putting his fork down. * Saki digs her hands in her hair again, scratching at her scalp. When she speaks, she's looking and sounding nervous. "I... know I've acted strange. You all deserve to know why, because I think it's important. And I know where she's going next." You do? * Vytor listens quietly Yeah, I heard you. You said Racuili. How did you know that? * Ryllan remains silent, listening. Tanan looks pensive. * Saki closes her eyes. "... because she told me. Right after she left, I heard her voice in my head, telling me come to Raculi." * Angharad begins eating quietly, so as not to interrupt, when her food arrives. Her ears are swiveled to face Saki even if her eyes are not. * Trune looks nervous, "She could be luring us." (w) ...Whoa. So...Trune's not the only one who can hear that stuff? She could, Trune. [Leah] You heard her voice? But where else might she go next? But I think she knows we'd think that. So it can't be /that/ important to whatever she's doing. * Angie sets down her fork and scowls. "Some people have that power, although it's not that common. But why you?" * Saki nods, tugging at her hair in agitation. "... yeah. I'm connected to her somehow, though I'm damned if I know how." She continues, almost talking over any reply. "I get a lot of hallucinations. Like the world's all wrong? But she's... she's more real than anything has ever felt." Wonder why she spoke to Saki in particular. * Niri blinks [Tanan] Hmm, disjointed realities? I know there's been cases of that showing up in the students occasionally. Really? I've...heard of that happening, but I've never actually met anyone with that problem before. I've heard rumours that our GFs might cause us to lose memories! (w) Man, and I thought I had it bad with people yappin' in my head. « .... » «ooc: ...no » GFs? << ... >> * Angie rubs her mouth thoughtfully. "Oh boy, you're totally crazy eh?" She says it in such an earnest, inoffensive way that it almost sounds like something else. [Leah] The Virtue society thinks it's ghosts or spirits that transferred over wrong, right? * Saki slumps in her seat, hand on her forehead. "... yeah," she nods in assent to Angie, then sits back up. "And... I /know/ her. I barely remember being a kid, but she's so familiar..." she trails off. * Niri blinks at Tanan. "Really?" * Ryllan looks at Leah, "I think I heard something about that." * Vytor listens quietly * Angharad stops eating. "Why would ghosts of spirits need to transfer over in the first place?" <> * Saki makes a face. "I don't claim to be an expert on it. It's just... that's why I've been acting strange." She quirks a dry grin at Angie; it's not that pleasant. "I'm stark raving." [Leah] It's the Unravelling.. like everybody from Lunar got sent to the Blue Star by Queen Virtue! But something must've been a little off, and people got messed up. That's a good question, Angharad. From Lunar, rright? * Trune glances at Saki, "You're not nuts. You've got a problem, yeah, but you're not nuts." No more so than most of the rest of us, probably. Everyone seems to think I'm crazy. *Makes a face* And granted I'm a little odd sometimes! What's the big deal about it? * Angharad twitches slightly at the mention of "everybody" but doesn't say anything. * Angie lets a long sigh out through her nostrils. "I'm not familiar with it, but if it's a known thing, maybe we can find out more information. It seems kind of ridiculous, but right now all we know about her is that she made some old prophecies or is connected to someone who did. If you actually know her from somewhere maybe you can tell us how to beat her." She pauses for a beat. "I mean, if we can figure out what's up." * Saki sits back in her chair. She hardly sounds upset; more resigned, maybe. "Tell me that on a day I didn't try to leave my room through the closet, because that's where the corridor /should/ be." She opens her eyes again, and gets more serious, nodding at Angie. "... but this also makes me ... dangerous." * Ryllan looks at Saki, "To us?" Whoa. Um, Saki? Do you think I'M nuts if I think that's almost cool? ;_; I mean....in a fascinating way! Really makes me wonder. Why does it make you dangerous? I'm sure it's not quite as romantic as it sounds. Frankly, it's kinda scary to me and I can see why it'd unerve someone. * Saki nods curtly, raking her hair yet again. "... she /spoke in my head/. I... what if she can do worse?" She shakes her head. "I've got to follow her. I've /got/ to; she knows something about me and what happens to me, I'm sure. But... be careful." * Angie buries her head in her hands, rubbing her palms against her forehead. "You can't be any more dangerous than any of the other nutcases we're running into lately." * Angharad nods. If she could control you... She probably would have by now. Angie's right! [Tanan] It's obvious she wants us to follow her. Maybe we shouldn't.. but what happens if we don't? She takes Seekers unopposed. Hmph. If hearing voices in your head were dangerous, Trune could have really messed us up when we discovered the Elementalors. I don't think it's something to worry much about. Maybe they end up like Bree instead of like everyone else so far. Tanan does have a point, though. She waited for us to come here. She all but admitted it....maybe people would be safer if we didn't show up. But...nrgh. * Saki blinks between Angie and Niri. This was perhaps not what she expected. But she rallies it well, and tries to keep a serious face. "Well, uh. That's... my say, I suppose." Uh, Ryllan? What the heck did we do that would have prevented her from doing exactly as she pleased in any case? We're not getting anything out of following her around. Worst case, we'll all end up dead. best case we get to see lots of other people end up dead. I think we should give up on the following thing. It's totally pointless to fight her without better weaponry. * Trune twitches a little at Niri's comment about voices in someone's head and looks down at his plate, suddenly quiet. I would have to agree with Angie. You know of weaponry that could take her on? I don't think she wants us dead. Not yet at least. Remember her comments? It seems we don't know much about this Prophetess at all. * Niri blinks at Trune. "Uh...what? What'd I say? Um...I'm sorry?" Er...it's not you. Sorry. [Tanan] She seemed to think that we'd been "ordained as witnesses". She couldn't have come out of nowhere. Maybe researching her would be the thing to do? * Saki pipes up again. "Sorry; beyond knowing her somehow, I've no information. Just feelings." All we got out of Hylan's library was that she had a cult on Lunar, and wrote the prophecy of the Truth Seekers. * Trune hms, and drums his fingers on the table, "Actually, wait a moment...no...seeing him would pratically be impossible since even I haven't seen him before...but..." * Angie meets Ryllan's eyes over the top of her glasses. "The people who used to live here had more powerful weapons than we can imagine. We've seen some of them. I say, let's take advantage." Seeing who? * Saki blinks. "You mean... it's hard to think of that kid as a weapon." * Niri still feels bad though and pushes the rest of her waffle over to Trune. [leah] Well, there is the Elementalors... if we could find all their friends, they'd be really powerful.. The elementalors? It's a good thought, if we hadn't shipped them off to Lunar. But I'm sure there's more. But will they help us? Would they help though? They seems very strange to me. We can ask, at least Well, the Prophetess seems to have abilities similar to Headmaster Hylan. He may have an idea how to stop her, though he's practically a hermit. I've never seen him and I've lived at the academy my whole life. Oh. Hmmm. I see what you mean. *ponders* Well, there might be a way to talk to him though...at least we could try using Haylee as an intermediary, couldn't we? * Trune begins to take a sip of his coffee, then suddenly drops it quickly on the table, a bit of it spilling all over the place. He puts a hand on his head, blinking. You okay? * Vytor raises an eyebrow at Trune As Trune drops his coffee, he begins to hear what sounds like static coming from his backpack. That feeling again... * Angie looks at Trune in shock, shifting away from him unconsciously. * Saki flicks her gaze Trune's way, but doesn't comment; she's entirely too used to doing similar. Trune? You alright? * Trune rummages through his backpack, taking out the device that the Elementlors gave him before their trek to the moon. It's now making a strange static-like noise. They're calling? Y--yeah, I'm fine. Think we've got a message, though. ? The communicator. Or whatever they called it Radio? They called it...uh... Just answer it. ECC moible datalink...or ...wait this thing has an on button? O_o The devioce begins to change in frequency as the noise gives way to a choppy voice * Niri listens up! [Voice] Tr.. get... signa... is.. * Angharad chews on the remainder of her omelette as she listens. * Vytor wonders where this is going There's some crackles and pops, and then the noise fades out, and you find the voice is Jupiter! [Jupiter] atenna... align... can you.. hear me? Copy please. We can hear you! * Angie overcomes her initial surprise as soon as Trune pulls out the gadget. She leans in, listening intently. [Webbly's voice] Yoooo-hooooo! Guys? Hey, Jupiter, let me speak with them! [Jupiter] *Beep* Exc.. llent. I read you clearly. Situation is.. fairly good. The system is workable.. audio only at the moment. Full strength in.. few moments. * Huw is now known as DrWebbly Hi Dr. Webbly! :D Jupiter shuffles a bit from what you can hear, and Webbly's voice takes over. Hey! Good you made it out okay! * Saki breathes out a sigh as the group take the call, staying silent in her corner. * Vytor resists the urge to wave hello to the talking stick The screen of the mobile datalink begins to flash a few times as the symbols scroll by and it begins "receiving" something or another... [Leah] Wow, talking to the moon! How are you all? Is it breakfast time down there? Would you believe there's no tea up here? I mean, I can't drink it anyway, but the principle of the thing! Anyway we are all fine and dandy *in a conspiritorial tone* though the lads are wayyy too serious all the time. * Vytor chuckles Didn't you already know they were like that, though, Dr. Webbly? *Giggles* * Trune grins despite himself. * Angie can't resist asking. "Doctor, what's it like up there?:" I know but, well. We'll see. I on the moon! Wheee! Excuse me, but this is really quite exciting. There's a few beeps of confirmation, and a little red dot on top of the unit projects a beam out a small distance from the table. First it is all static, but slowly, bits and pieces of Dr. Webbly appear in thin air, made out of light & energy. Whoa! Badass! O_o * Saki blinks slowly, impressed despite herself. * Angie is entranced by the beam. She sticks her hand in it, first tentatively and then all the way. Shiro goes over to the image and sniffs it, but falls right through. * Angharad blinks and marvels as the floating image of the mechanical contraption. Whoa Now that's impressive. Angie finds it's a little warm, but otherwise harmless. * DrWebbly waves his arms energetically as he speaks. "It's all like we knew it was in my time, I think. Dead rock, no air, etc, etc. The moon base is perfect preserved though! Nothing to make it go off or break. Do you need anything blown up? Blown up? Well. Zapped. Or erm.. blown.. away, I guess. Huh? Blown...away? What the hell? * Saki blinks at the Doctor's question, then pre-emptively tenses, ready at a moment to clamp a hand over either Niri or Trune's mouths. The projection equipment looks all fine, but I thought we might want to try it out when you weren't.. fighting for your lives and all that. * Saki then mentally ticks Angie onto that list after a moment's thought. We were fighting over waffles, if that counts. Why would we want to blow something up? Hmm. Neitchzen or Platonic philosphy? * Saki makes a face at Angharad. "Please, please don't provoke them," she deadpans, then shakes her head. "You were mentioning advanced weaponry, Angie?" * Niri merely looks confused Not that I remember which is which. We were fighting over waffles? I know waffles were involved, but....I don't remember fighting. Just eating. Yum. * Angie chimes in. "We could totally use some blowing up, yeah. We're not right sure where the thing we need blown up is, though. Can you, like, keep it on hold?" I think Angie has a point! Probably best to pick a target before we start randomly exploding things! Meanwhile, some of the patrons are getting really creeped out at the talking illusion and pay for their meals, leaving. :p Oh of course! But you'll have to be pretty close to it. See we can ermm.. do you believe in wave or particle theory in regards to light/thought duality? How about we don't start blowing up random things? * Trune grins at Niri, "Breakfast humor, Niri. Don't take it so seriously." * Saki sighs out, glancing around the table once more. "... Raculi's a big place, and populated. How large an explosion are we talking here?" Her face reads clear that she can't believe she's asking this of a small hologram of a walking metal man. * DrWebbly answers Saki cheerfully "No Idea! It'll be a grand experiment! Adventure, Excitment! Really Wild Things!" Great... Let's not and say we did. * Saki balks away from the table; for just a moment she glares fearfully at the ceiling. * Angharad tries to follow the conversation, but from her sagging ears, it's rather clear that she doesn't like the direction things are going, particularly the talk of blowing things up. * Angie scratches the tip of her nose. "The way I learned it, light's a wave. However, there's some problems with that. I don't suppose you could sort us out?" * DrWebbly sags slightly. "The lads are glaring at me now. Would you like a serious and layman's explanation?" Please? * Angie 's eyes shine. "Oh, totally!" Grip the device firmly, press the big yellow tab with your thumb, then ask me to blow up the offending scary things with either Jupiter or Mars. That's it? It...doesn't sound horribly complicated. Point the shiny black bit at what you are aiming at so I can see it. And ermm. With luck. It'll work. Most of the time. If the signal gets through. * Saki pinches the bridge of her nose and mumbles something about a migraine. "... that's a serious explanation?" < At least it's to the point. So we shouldn't rely on it, in other words. Okay, wonderful! You have no idea how much this helps. *She suddenly loses her smile, lapsing into thought.* Oh...but they probably don't have enough elemental energy up there to do anything really crazy, eh? Hmm. Oh. Sorry. Wrong version. * DrWebbly cranes his head to one side, then pulls it back into position with a CRRRKKK noise. * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit (Connection reset by peer) * DrWebbly is handed a big paper book from off-camera. * DrWebbly flicks through it at lightning speed. "What!!! Those monsters! My beautiful design!" ? * Saki glances over at Angie, frowning. "Reckon there's more?" * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Trune * Angharad assumes something happened that largely matters to Webbly more than anyone else. Okay. Explanation on how to use the device YOU have. And not the one I designed. * Lucca-away (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) has joined #lunar-iog2 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Lucca-away * Trune (~lucca@staff.lunarnet.org) Quit ([rpgcafe.nj.us.lunarnet.org] Local kill by Lucca-away (Ow!)) * Lucca-away is now known as Trune * Trune looks a bit bewildered, "Your design?" * DrWebbly waves his hand dismissively. "It can wait. Okay, you can all use.. erm.. Adept Magic, is it? Or Willforce? Good. First you have to think really hard about the right ermm. theme." The element, you mean? How barbaric. But yes. So, zappy-zappy for Jupiter, and... *looks off camera*. Okay. You get the idea. * Trune looks awed for a moment, "Really? That's all there is? It's... a lot like..." Or you can think about them specifically. * Vytor considers that Then, if you think hard enough, the device with forge a link, and we'll shoot down a beam echoing the cere-matrix of the Elementalor. Cere-whodrix? Ambient forces will gather forming a.. golem of sorts. Which the Elementalor will control. However, using it's powers will lower it's ingretity, as will trauma. ...Wow. So, think hard, and one of the lads comes down in a.. ugh.. magical body. But if you get them beaten up, or they do too much it breaks up and they get hurt up here. * Angharad keeps an ear listening to the techno-babble, but otherwise takes a really long time finishing her last sausage. So they get hurt while they're controlling the golem. Is it safe for them? Long-term effects of the projection's disruption are unknown. But, it is definitely painful. And I do not condone putting the lads at unecassary risk. We understand. * Saki frowns, picking through the explanation. At length, she sighs out, apparently not enjoying the question she's about to ask. "... Professor, we're going north again. Should we keep an eye out for others?" I mean, it totally sucks, but we understand. Session Time: Sat Apr 22 00:00:00 2006 That would be marvelouss, Saki! We can.. well.. it's complicated. But we can teleport other elementalors up to the moonbase, where they will be safe, and in a position to help you all. Sounds promising. So, where should we look for more Elementalors, I wonder? Not safe for lesser mortals at the moment. Neptune has some faint readings in a lakebed to the north. I'm a bit worried. * Saki nods, addressing the table with a sideways glance. "... the ruins felt all wrong to me; even more so than anything else. Like they're some kind of opposites to the Prophetess. I think it might work." Hmmm...what do we do if they go nuts, though? We won't have you with us this time. Can you do that... *she waves her fingers indistinctly* ...controlly stuff from where you are? We can try at least. * Ryllan nods, "Gotcha. If nothing else... It's a better tactic than we've been using. I guess we'll just have to be really prepared, I guess. Oh, they are still here, I can prevent any chance of accidents! They just erm. Control a puppet of raw themed pyscho-kinetic power capable of leveling small buildings. If the system works properly. * Angie nods grimly. "That's good, I really don't like accidents." No, the ones we go looking for. Like... Neptune, you said? Ooooh. In a lakebed north of here... * Saki rubs her face with her hands. "... follow the Prophetess. Search ancient ruins for kids. Save the world in time for dinner. Great." She pauses, and adds as an afterthought. "... and try not to go even madder in the process." She sighs, muttering the last part under her breath. "Okay. I can do that. I hope." I'll look into it posthaste! But if we save it in time for dinner, we'll miss out on your cooking, Saki. Before that though, we can only lend you the power of one person at a time. And Trune is probably the best at getting the signal up quickly. [Leah] Lakebed.. isn't that the leftovers of some system of huge lakes long ago? explorer's found that not too far east of Raculi and west of Hylan Academy I am? Er...uh...okay? * Saki puffs out a breath, and glances at Ryllan. "I'm not cooking /while/ fighting." * DrWebbly taps his head with a clank. "You've got the wiring for it, boyo. Taking a bit more time improves the chances too." I...see. Okay, I'll keep it in mind. Aha! A pun! * Angie makes a face. "Raculi? That's pretty close..." A far-off lookw ashes over her, and she strokes her chin. "Wait...Doctor. Something Mercury said...it was possible for the elementalors to project from their original locations, also?" * Trune blinks for a few moments with a blank face, then arghs and whaps himself on the head lightly once, "I swear that wasn't on purpose!" Ahh. It'd be very difficult without advanced equipment. * Saki breathes out again, and slumps in her chair; despite the action, she looks in better shape than possibly the entire party has ever seen her. But their effects can have a wide range through the natural laws of cause and effect. * Angie is undeterred. "Is any of that equipment where we could get it? See, we're..." She tilts he rhead to oe side, then the other, waffling. "We're kind of hoping we can blow up someone really strong. I was thinking if we could use one of the elementalors at its seat of power it'd be stronger, right?" Ahh. Well. A natural abudance of power might make it easier, like Jupiter sitting on the Hoover dam.. but... * Saki pipes up. "If there's anything to be found we'll probably find it while looking for the others." Do you have any other advice regarding our blowing-up needs? Because we could seriously use all the firepower we can get here. If this someone is so scary, I'd rather have this whole array up with all the lads here to do a big pig-pile, you know? You can do that? I thought only one at once? For now! Hmm * Angie murmurs in assent and her eyes take on that distant look again. It's difficult to tell if she's deep in thought or simply zoned out. But ahh. I make no promises. I can't exactly buy replacement parts from the dime store. I can imagine! * Saki sits back up. "So the lakebed and then Raculi? Or the Academy first?" Hey! Is that sausage and bacon? Um...yes? Er, yeah. But it's totally mine. * Vytor considers And waffles. Don't forget the waffles. * DrWebbly holds up a sign with a little sad face on. "I envy you fleshies." Here's a thought * Angharad blinks at the sudden change in topic. * Trune steals one of Niri's pieces of bacon. Poor Dr. Webbly. :/ A bit of a gamble, but bear with me on this one Trune. :P Meanie. Let's assume for a moment that the Prophetess wants us to witness what she's doing. Let's further assume that she IS going to Raculi * Niri obviously doesn't mean it though, not being terribly attached to the bacon What? A growing boy needs his protein. What? You're growing? Seriously? In the meantime, give me a ring if you have any questions! Or find any weird old stuff! It might be really important or useful. Or it might be Sunny Delight. But we'll never know unless you ask! If we don't run immeidiately to Raculi to stop her, would she wait to strike there? Upward or outward? :D ...Sunny Delight? A truly horrible chemical. ...I think Dr. Webbly is suffering from flesh withdrawal or something. It's making him kooky. ^_^ I see. * Trune gives Niri a look, "Actually, it's brain that's growing. ;)" Good! It sure needs it! :D If she wants the group of you there, and you don't go, then perhaps she'll try to force you there? Oh no! According to my assistants I was always 'amusingly eccentric'! Maybe, Angh. Possibly. The fact is we don;t know. This might be a chance for us to find out. But, like I said. She deliberately /told/ us that she wanted us folowing her. Just Saki, right? How about "totally insane lovable weirdo," Dr. Webbly? That works too! She was speaking plural when she talked about Ordained Witnesses. * Trune nrghs and looks a little irritated at Niri, but gets his revenge by taking another piece of bacon. I'm touched, Niri. You're totally lovable too! Awesome! Well, that's what my dad tells me anyway. Not everyone agrees though. Oh well! * Saki keeps silent for a long while, tapping her fingers on the table in thought. "I don't know if I could stop myself going after her. But... trying to scour the Academy first might be useful. It's almost on the way." So. Ahh. You want me to find a way to make Neptune not drown you all under twenty atmospheres of water pressure? I say we put a test to just how badly she wants us to follow her. Are there any elementalors right near here? I guess we should get everything done in the area while we can. *She quirks a sad little smile.* Could be a while before we're back. * Niri tickles Trune under the arms as he reaches for more bacon. "Thief!" * Trune acks and drops the piece of bacon on the floor as he's tickled, "Aw, man." They must all be sleeping too soundly, Angie. * Niri watches as Shiro grabs it and runs away happily. "Oops." * Trune shrugs, "We should be listening to Dr. Webbly anyway." Angie, I'm trying to remember what other Elementalors might be close, but I'm having trouble with that. Sorry. Er, hold on a moment. I took notes. [Shiro] :D * Trune opens his backpack and rummages through it, taking out a handful of crinkly looking, scribbled on notes. * Saki looks up at Vytor. "I'd rather not wait. If she doesn't wait for us, how would you feel about letting a town get attacked? We have an idea on how to take her down. Let's test it out." Oh? Notes from where? * Vytor considers what Saki says, realizing she has a point Yep. * Niri peers at the notes I took a few notes on the Elementlors based on some books we found in the Pentagon Ruins. But we can't be running out to defend anything this time. We're not really near anything, but it seems...huh... What? We HAVE to stay with the Seeker the Prophetess is targetin- Hm, Trune? Ah. Erm. It would have helped to have shown me them before I was.. on the moon. [Leah] Well, if you want to go to the Lakebed, I can take you there! It's north of Hylan Academy. * Trune shakes his head, "Unless you're not aware of the other Elementlor locations. I can tell you what I have, if you need it. Sorry, I should have shown it to you. I wasn't thinking." Showing them to this... whatever you're talking to us with wouldn't help? [Leah] And then.. uh... west to Raculi in the plains. Could we head back past the Academy? Then we might be able to see if we could talk to John at all... We could at least speak with Haylee. * Angie nods. "After getting a better look at the Prophetess, I'm convinced we need something like Professor Hylan's abiltiies behind us." I agree, Angie! Besides, I'm insanely curious to see what he's really like. I agree... But /surely/ he knows what's going on. * Trune actually looks a little embarrased and admonished, fumbling through his notes for anything he may have forgotten. Why hasn't he already shown up? Because he's John? * Saki nods curtly. "It's practically on the way." She glances sidelong at Angharad. "Sorry to get you wrapped up in this. We could probably use your help." * Angharad turns to Saki. "It is not so bad. The Hylan Academy is not too far from the Pentagon Ruins, given how far we are already traveling. You're heading in the right direction, and I can help for you a bit, if you'd like." Oh yeah, that works out well for you, eh? I felt a bit bad ditching you here anyway. [Tanan] I suppose I should go back as well and check up on things. * Saki nods, then rubs at her forehead, muttering lowly. "Meribia's probably too far a detour. I could really do with seeing the dojo for a while." * Trune continues to look through his notes, but he seems to be avoiding the group now, as if he has a thought he doesn't quite want to think about or share. So what's the plan then? I guess we head back, ask John for help, go get Neptune on our side, head to Raculi, blast the hell out of the Prophetess! *She takes a deep breath* That doesn't sound...too bad! Awesome plan! I can get behind that. ...Yeah great. [Leah] I'm all for the blowing up. She hurt me good.. time for payback! * Trune stuffs his notes into his backpack and picks at his food now, appetite gone. * Angharad shakes her head, wondering if such a plan will work. * Saki nods at Angie in assent, then frowns as a thought hits her. "... look. If I start to ... get bad, just..." She shakes her head forcibly, growling softly. "Hit me, or something. Jarring me out of it works well." Shiro scampers over to Saki and gives her a curious look. * Ryllan looks at Saki, "Let's hope it doesn't come to that." We'll figure something out if it happens * Saki makes a face at Ryllan, then grins rather maliciously. "I meant tapping me or something. Unless you want to test if you /really/ should've won that tournament." As the conversation winds down, the image of Dr Webbly begins to break up into a pixellated mess, and the projection diode shuts down. * Niri elbows Trune. "What's with you? You've gone stony-faced all of a sudden." Oh dear! *She taps the device with a fingernail.* I hope that's not permanent. I'll be back! * DrWebbly giggles quietly. * Niri blinks at Dr. Webbly O_o * Trune makes an aggriviated noise as he's poked, suddenly turning to Niri, "I'm fine! I-" He stops and sighs, "...Sorry. I think I have an idea how to maybe get Headmaster John to see us, but its...it's going to suck hardcore for me so I'm a little edgy." Huh? How so? I don't get it. When we get there...I'm gonna have a chat with my old man. You know who he is, right? * Angie peers quizzically at Trune. "Hmm?" One of the professors, right? ? Hrmm. I guess, yeah...? Professor Tanan mumbles something to himself. Yeah. He's really good at healing techniques...and he's not exactly speaking to me right now. Hmmm...how....awkward. Should I ask why? Who are we talking about here? It's been a while, but I might know him. Hmmm. That's no good. I should totally get him to make up with you! He's Zachariah McVrey. If you had any Willforce Healing classes, chances are you had him. * Trune chuckles, "I don't think it'd work, Niri. Thanks though." Ohhh. Yeah, I think I may have had one or two! He was all right. What? No, it would totally work! * Niri pauses Wait. Maybe I'm thinking of Professor Tiddle. Does your dad have white hair, tied back in a mullet? Wears black leather pants? Skinny guy, tall? Ohhhhhhhh! *Angie points enthusiastically at Trune.* No, but I did see him around! yeah, I guess you sort of look like him. * Vytor listens quietly, having little to add at this point Er, that's Professor Morrison. My dad's tall but he's got black hair and a beard. Usually wears a robe too. * ZackStudy (~randiseri@141.164.93.225) Quit (Ping timeout) ...Wait, yeah, you're right. Who was Professor Mc- OH WAIT Yeah! He threw me out of his class once! * Trune blinks, "Bwa? Why?" ...I uh...umm. Let me think. * Saki , with little-to-no connection to the Academy, pokes at what little food she could stomach ordering. I think it was because I started going on about this theory I had involving kittens and enhanced healing magic. * ZackStudy (~randiseri@141.164.93.225) has joined #lunar-iog2 [Tanan] A real prodigal son you've turned into in his eyes, Trune. But I don't think you two are beyond reconcilliation either. You've begun to prove your theories after all. But he's a very prideful sort, and not one to admit when he's wrong. * Angie flops back in her chair, looking at Trune as if she'd never met the boy. "Wow, so you...huh. You've been in a bit of a situation, then, eh?" I got a little excited. Maybe it was the double chocolate mocha I had with my breakfast that morning. Feh, you guys may know my dad in school, but you don't know him like I know him. He won't forgive me. * Vytor (dnwwheeler@71.198.250.222) Quit (Quit: ) Maybe I don't! but you underestimate my persistence. :D Please note that I got an A on my final paper about that kitten theory. Also, you had a theory on kittens and healing magic? * Niri strikes a pose Yeah, of course! Leah starts laughing! * Trune tries to hide in a chuckle, but can't help it and suddenly begins to laugh! Hey now! :P You shouldn't make fun till you've heard the details. [Leah] Oh Niri... * Angharad coughs so as to make herself heard. "So when are we leaving?" Whaaaat? ;_; Oh...whew...snrk...Oh Man, thanks Niri. I needed that...hoo... Hmph. Shiro meanwhile is pawing at saki from beneath the table. ^_^ * Angie spears the last bit of chicken with her fork and shoves it unenthusiastically in her mouth, sliding it from one cheek to the other. "I'm still a little worried," she mumbles. About what, Angie? * Angie chews for a few seconds and swallows, then continues. "I think I have a better idea how strong she is than anyone else. I mean, she's REALLY REALLY strong. Like, it doesn't even describe it. I'm really hoping this will work, but..." We gotta try something. Just sitting around wondering will do nothing. If it doesn't... I do have an idea, though it'll prolly be the death of me, and possibly another Truth Seeker. «ooc: Brobably » «ooc: lkdsalkjafd;ljkda;kllk;ajds » «ooc: PROBABLY » «ooc: hahahaha ;) » Eh? What do you have in mind? You've seen what I can do, using other people's magic, right? «ooc: Gah, magic== willforce » * Trune nods. I've been working on a trick. That'll let me send a portion of someone else's power back at them. It weakens the original spell, and lets me hit them as well. * Trune huhs, "Interesting. That...could be really useful. We'd better head out though, it's starting to get late." If I can do that to... whatever she's using on the truth seekers... Er, uh. Didn't mean to blow you off there. Seriously. Uh. Hah. No worries. * Saki frowns to herself in thought for a moment, then sighs, waving a hand. "... we've a plan, for now, and it'll do. Let's go see Celyna, I guess." You're right. I can't extemporize about my greatness all day. Let's go. * Angie nods. "That'd be awesome. Even if it doesn't hurt her, if it could save the people she's attacking..." Oh, yeah. * Niri giggles at Ryllan * Angharad gets up from the table and neatly shoves in the chair. Off we go, then? Yep. * Niri breaks the last piece of bacon in half and gives one half to Shiro, the other to Trune. * Angie stands up, sliding her chair out at the same time. "Are we doing separate checks here or is someone...?" She trails off, letting the question hang. (m) Of course, there's not a chance the GM will ever let it work, but oh well. Eat your nummy brain food. «ooc: Nuke. ;) » << Doom :D >> * Trune blinks at the greasy piece of bacon in his hand, "Thanks." * Ryllan stands up and turns to settle the bill. * Niri gives him an oh-so-innocent smile and heads off to pack up * Saki sighs down at her food, looking unpleasantly at it. "... remind me to cook more often. I use less grease." She shakes her head, and looks over at Angie. "... can you use that little trick on me at the lakebed?" * Angie blink uncomprehendingly. "Trick?" * ZackStudy is now known as Zack * Saki taps her forehead. "Whatever you did to examine her. ... maybe I've a clue in here." Ryllan finds that the meal is complimentary for helping out in the town's defense... no silver needed. Tips are always welcome of course. * Trune stares at the bacon for a moment, shrugs, pops it in mouth, and goes to gather his stuff. * Angie opens her mouth wide. "Ohhh! Oh yeah, okay. I have to warn you though, I haven't refined the technique very much. I'm not sure how much information I can get." * Saki shrugs lopsidedly. "Any is better than none, though I imagine someone's thought of doing it before." She stands up. "Let's go." * DrWebbly is now known as Huw The path ahead of you is once again set. The dark force beckons you to the plains of faith... but now you have your own summons to bring to bear.
