But now is nothing but overgrown weeds and rusting hangars, devoid of anything but a eerie wind that never ceases. A few of your lose your way in the tangled maze, but eventually all make it to the largest building that looms over everything. It appears to be connected to the strange ramp that extends for a mile into the distance, before arcing heavenward... this must be the control center. * Vytor looks up at the massive structure * Ryllan looks up. And up. And up, "...Interesting." Two giant hangar doors lead inside, but they are locked tightly! And don't seem to have any handles whatsoever. A fizzling panel is all that is alive here, possible a destroyed lever for the entrance. * Niri , having dawdled behind, catches up to the others, craning her neck to look up at the structure. "....Wow." * Angie has her gun out, and has been glaring suspiciously at each shadow and rattling door as she winds her way through the facility. * Trune looks up as well, "The urge to run back to a town and buy a kite is really strong right now." * Saki has a frown on her face as she surveys the area. It's not like this is rare, but she seems vaguely on edge. Nothing like at the last set of ruins, mind you. Not speaking, she instead just flexes her fists, keeping an eye out. Oh dear. [Jupiter] Hmm. It looks like this was shorted out recently. * DrWebbly waddles over to the panel, apparently peering. Recently? ...what do you mean 'recently'? * Niri peers over at Jupiter and what he's looking at. * Angie steps up beside Jupiter and leans over, examining the panel. A spark lands on her nose and she jerks back reflexively. "After thousands of years of working? Someone must have done it, then." It looks like it's still sparking or something, can't have happened that long ago, can it? Could it be those monster thingies? * Saki smirks without any hint of humour. "Anyone want to make three guesses who?" The broken panel is indeed mangled and not rusted like the rest of the metallic objects in this graveyard. * Trune hms, frowning. [Jupiter] It could have been from Mercury's power. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. * Vytor decides to keep what while the others look for a way in, not liking that 'recent' comment * Angie gives Saki a doubtful look. "Do you think? It would be pretty coincidental if..." She sounds caught between genuine skepticism and wishful thinking. Could it have been? That would mean he's awake, wouldn't it? * Angharad sniffs the air and looks around for signs of any other visitors. Jupiter reaches out and sticks his hand into the panel, reciving a large jolt! He twists a few wries back upon themselves, copper strands merging and forming a current path. The door whines and creaks, as a loud buzzer sounds out to stand clear. « er wires » * Saki cracks her knuckles, shrugging as the steps forward in time with the creaking of the doors rumbling open. "At this point, nothing would surprise me." * Angharad flattens her ears and regards the door warily. * Trune steps back quickly, as if Jupiter's action startled him, "Right, er...onward? Eheh.." Slowly but surely the rightmost door opens, the track in the floor it follows revaling dirt and grim of the millenias of rather little housekeeping. The air is musty, but not stagnant, and continues to shift and squirm, like a snake in your lungs as you breathe it. Um...that's handy! * Vytor kricks his neck, deciding to keep his hamer in hand Nice place * Tanan frowns "That dirt doesn't look happy, guys. It seems.. grim." * Niri looks very uncomfortable at the state of the air. "....This is....creepy." <<...kill that. ;)>> * Angie hops from one foot to the other, peering nervously into the black. She doesn't seem eager to take the lead. Ugh. You'd think a place made for someone with air powers would have had better ventilation? Be careful. Anyone got a light? * Ryllan looks at the rest of the party, sighs, and steps into the lead, grumbling slightly, "Well, we aren'g going to get anything done standing around her. * Angharad wrinkles her nose. "If this place has been sealed for so long, why is there dirt inside?" Something about this seems...wrong somehow. Jupiter nods, releasing his hold on the mechanism, which grounds to a halt with a echoing thunder. Well. I bodes well for the insides being in good repair! Maybe there was dirt here before it was sealed? Dust settles, Ang. Or maybe something managed to crawl in here...something that shouldn't be here? * Saki nods reflexively at Trune's comment, almost a nervous twitch. She takes two steps inside, trying to peer through the gloom. Dust from what though? She's right. Figure a couple millenia at the least, you get a lot of dust buildup. [Jupiter] There is likely holes in the rooftops. But below should be well-preserved. * Vytor takes a tentative step inside the complex * Angharad shrugs. "Maybe. The air doesn't smell right though." * Vytor takes a few more steps into the gloom It is quite dark inside... you can't see much, but the light coming inf rom the open doorway illuminates a wide swath of the huge room. It's an empty hangar like the others, though this one is lined on the sides by cranes and rolling frames, presumably to hold equipment and service crafts. * Saki looks around the interior with care, stepping forward to survey the warehouse, then turns back to glance at Jupiter and the Doc. "Do either of you know the layout in here?" * Angie follows close behind Saki, sneaking a glimpse past her. She grips her sidearm tightly in both hands, holding it up at shoulder level. * Vytor peers around, looking for a light switch or something Memory Area Corrupted. Sorry. It's about as wide as an entire block from end to end, and as you peer around, you notice the first sparks of a lighting system above trying to ignite. The beacons fizzle and hum loudly as they power up after centuries of disuses. * Trune fumbles in his backpack, taking out a small lantern-like object and flipping it on. [Leah] Wow... big. * Vytor takes some more steps forward as Trune's lanter kicks on Thanks Trune No problem. Might not be needed though...I think the lights are trying to flip on themselves. * Tanan looks up. "Wow. Lights still work in here, that's handy. Or amazing, depending on how you want to look at it." [Jupiter] Not doing a good job. The power system is barely functional. Is there something in particular we should be looking for in here? The Pentagon was surprisingly functional too. This stuff is built to last. * DrWebbly follows the others, servos whirring softly. At the far end of the cavernous hanger is some stairs leading up the walls to catwalks and eventually some door, leading farther in. There is what appears to be 3 floors. * Saki directs her frown to corners of the room, slowly walking over towards the stairs in no particular hurry. Hmmmm. We found the Elementalor room in the basement of the Pentagon...is there a basement here? [Jupiter] Don't forget, we are here to find Mercury. And then check the status of the mass driver launch system. * DrWebbly shrugs, wandering around the room slowly. * Angharad looks at Jupiter. "And this Mercury is a being like yourself?" * Vytor peers around, looking for something useful in this place [Jupiter] That's correct. He is the canneler of air. Which is no doubt the cause of this strange atmosphere. « er channeler » ...Air. Maybe not the basement, then? I'd reckon maybe he's near the top? This doesn't bode well for him reacting well to us showing up, does it? Or do you know each other well? Maybe you should go first. Ah! So that's why the air was acting funny. Wonder what that means exactly though? Do you think he's doing it on purpose? Why wouldn't Mercury react well to Jupiter? * Vytor manages to find a wastebasket by tripping over it Jupiter runs a hand through his golden hair. "I've never been to this facility, recall. And the Doctor's internal maps are corrupted. You will have to take your best guesses." * Saki scans upwards, raking her gaze over the stairwell. "Only one way to find out." [Jupiter] I will elt you know if I detect his mental signature. « er let » * Tanan shrugs. "Well, if he's the one who's causing all this to happen, he may be in a really bad mood right now. And Jupiter's first reaction was to try to put several jillion volts into us." << * Niri stares at Jupiter's hair! >> * Trune glances to the side at Jupiter's last words, and bites his lip. Best we can ask, Jupe. Thank you. Onward and upward? Yeah, I guess we'd better start climbing... * Angharad shudders. "Why are the group of you assisting Jupiter again?" Doctor, you managed to bring Jupiter to his senses. Can you manage the same for any other Elementalors we might meet? We want to find the Elementalors! Well, he did stop. They could answer a lot of questions. * Angharad cocks her head to one side. "How?" Hmm. Hopefully I should be both protected from their outbursts and capable of activating their limiters, yes. And there's a small possibility that that Prophetess woman is interested in them too That is the purpose of this unit, and the ECC> * Saki shrugs at Angharad, and is suddenly hopping her way up the stairs. * Angie looks Webbly over appraisingly, then grimaces. "Maybe you should go in front?" she suggests. « The black wind howls... one among you will die shor- wait wrong game. » * Vytor pursues Saki up the stairs * Tanan looks at Webbly. "Probably not. He'll be fine if we run into Mercury maybe, but he doesn't look at that sturdy if there's more creatures." * Trune follows along, holding his latern aloft. He seems a little hesitant. * Niri scratches her head. "Um...I guess I really don't know. But there's a definite mystery here and I want to solve it." Besides, we could use some allies if we're going to end up going up against the prophetess. And I think there's a good chance we'll have to. I'd really rather not face more of those creatures. At the risk of losing my gentlemanly reputation, if I had been human, I would have cacked my pants. * Niri blinks at Dr. Webbly. * Trune gives Webbly a weird look, "Say what again?" Please tell me we're not going to have to climb stairs up to the top of this monstrosity * Tanan bites down on his lip to avoid laughing Were I not beyond the physical requirements, I would have evacuated my bowels with fear. * Angharad thinks about what Niri said, wondering if it matters much, and heads up the stairs. Okay Vytor, I won't! * Instead, Niri just leaps ahead and starts up the stairs in vigorous bounds. * * Vytor grunts as Niri bounds past him [Leah] Wow.. Niri.. are you serious about that? * DrWebbly follows at a steady pace, keeping an eye on Jupiter. * Angie laughs humourlessly under her breath. "I'm pretty used to normal monsters by now, but there's some freaky stuff out there." Leah follows her upwards, Shiro climbing the human-sized steps with the grace of a stalker. Plants don't normally attack people. * Ryllan grins, following Niri up the stairs, "Ah, spirit. She's going to doom us all." * Saki stops at the second floor door, eying it for an opening mechanism. Well, we're never going to find out what's up there if we don't go check it out! The door seems entirely normal. There's a knob for you to graps, and on the window you can read what appears to be a label saying "NASA, Dock Facility Delta". Geez, Princess, do you have a short-term memory problem? We TALKED about this! * Tanan looks at Angharad. "Didn't you say something about plants attacking you before, too?" What's a Naysah? .....Hmm. Wonder if I could slide down the banister... * Angharad nods. "Yes, in the Pentagon ruins. We were attacked by an extremely large and sentient plant that was seeking to feed its young. " Sorry Trune, sometimes it almost feels like weeks pass between conversations! * Saki shrugs at Vytor, and gives the door a try, half-expecting it to be locked. National Aeronautic and Space Administration * Trune goes to say something, stops, tries again, and then finally just shrugs, "That...explains so much." It was this country's government organization for getting to the moon. ...that doesn't explain much. Unfortunately we never found that much use, as you can't breath up there, and nothing grows. * Angie snickers a bit in spite of herself. "'Aeronautical.' That's good." No, you have to think about it. It really explans a lot. You do have acronyms still, I hope? * Niri stops and eyes Trune suspiciously. "...I can't tell if you're making fun of me or not." * Vytor raises an eyebrow at Trune * Angharad looks at Dr. Webbly. "How old are you again?" * Trune smiles sweetly and says nothing. Ahh. Acronyms? Oh yes. Twenty nine and a bit. * Niri glares at Trune. "Okay, now I KNOW you're making fun of me." I'm, for example, the APOESICT back at the academy. * Angharad 's ears flatten. "That doesn't help much." The door isn't locked. It opens freely for Saki... beyond is a hallway with four doors, two on either side. There is only a single light working here, as the main system is off. The wind whispers quietly through the cracks in the walls. Oh. You mean, since.. erm. I ah.. died? Focus on the task on hand, Princess. * Tanan maintains a straight face. I keep forgetting. I mean, you forgot again, didn't you? * Vytor steps into the corridor Hmph. * Niri turns her attention to the door Saki is investigating. Creepeh It's just you mentioned that nothing grows on the moon... I was wondering when that was... * Vytor goes to look at some of the sidedoors * Saki sighs and runs a hand through her hair. "My life for a map." Vaguely irked and still looking tense, she promptly and without much ceremony grabs the knob of the nearest door on the right and twists it, throwing a shoulder at the door. * Trune baps his lantern a couple more times, hoping he can adjust the light output somehow. * Niri heads forward to try the door across from the one Saki is trying to open! The others are all labeled with that same block printing, embossed in vinyl on them One says 'Wash Rack Supplies", another "Consolidated Tool Kits". The other side is "Mens" and "Women's" respectively. * Vytor looks at the doors saying Men's and Women's, and wonders if the group has to split up or something Sanitary facilities, Vytor. Toilets. Oh They had to label them? Around 3 millenia, Angharad. Apparently Awesome, so we don't have to hold in our wee while adventuring? Whoever made these ruins was quite thoughtful, eh. * Angie nudges the door to the women's room open, pointing the gun into the crack, then bumping it the rest of the way open and going inside. Oh, we forgot to tell you, Dr. Webbly. We don't use toilets anymore in the future! Well, you wouldn't want a man walking in on you, would you, ma'am? * Angharad nods to Webbly. "Thanks." * Niri looks cute. Well. I don't. * DrWebbly gestures at his metal crotch. ... * Trune balks at Dr. Webbly. ...Okay, that was a joke. And uh...never mind. Angie dashes into the bahroom, gun drawn! In a few moments the rest of the party hears a odd gurgling sound as the plumbing responds poorly to her investigation. So much more than I needed to know I just saw a robot do something obscene with his non-existant crotch. This is beyond surreal. Let's...keep going, okay? Before he talks about the other end. O_o * Niri blinks at Angie * Vytor heads further down the corridor * Ryllan chuckles at Trune, "Would it matter if he did, now?" * Saki pinches at her nose, looking pained; quickly she has moved on the one of the other untried doors, not particularly caring which. It's more my mind wrapping around such a thing. * DrWebbly shrugs calmly. * Angie emerges a moment later, looking a picture of innocence. "It's lots cleaner than you'd think." Perhaps we should see if there is anything helpful in the consolidated tools room? * Niri goes back to investigate across the hall! Niri and Saki find the two toolroom doors securely locked! Hrmmm. Hey! Dr. Webbly! I don't suppose you have anything you could use as a lockpick on you? * Saki cracks her knuckles, and a nasty grin spreads across her face. "If not, it's not a problem." The Wash rack i only a simple padlock, but the CTK room is secured with a very high tech looking card reader. It seems a shame to destroy an old ruin just to open a door. Uh...well, if you WANT to break the door open with your bare hands, go for it. But I'm not bandaging you up. * Tanan frowns. "I bet ten silver the door breaks first." Well I never! Me, know how to pick locks? I was a scientist, not a criminal! No no, Dr. Webbly. I meant, do you have anything I could use as a lock pick? A spare length of wire somewhere on your person? * Saki steps back two steps, tapping her foot; a toss of her head and she's grinning at the group, nodding to Angharad. "If you have a better idea as to how to get in there, go for it. Otherwise I'll take the Professor's bet." At any rate, it might get us into the Wash Rack room. The Consolidated Tools room looks a bit trickier. [Jupiter] I doubt there is much here of use. This was for the day to day workings of the staff here. * Angie crouches down and runs a finger along the edge of the card reader panel. "I could probably jimmy this off with some stuff from my kit, but I don't know how the mechanism works so it wouldn't get us anywhere." [Jupiter] Though if we needed to fix the launch vehicle, it may be needed. So no chance of your companion being inside? Jupiter, should we move up a floor? If the Pentagon was any indication, there'll be all sorts of high tech machinery around....maybe some readouts and instruments and stuff. I just hope there's no active security systems. * Tanan sighs. "You had to say that didn't you." Aw, and I wanted to see the all mighty fork of justice. [Jupiter] Whatever systems are active appear to barely be powered. I am more concerned with this cahotic elemental presence hindering us. You crushed my dreams, Niri. .... That's not all I can crush! * Saki raises an eyebrow at the group. "You want into the room or not?" Let us explore further. Perhaps someone left their card behind when they were washing their hands? Oh man, is that a challenge! ;) * Angie stands up again and shakes her head glumly. "There wasn't anything in the women's room." ...Let's just say I'm tired of hearing you flap your mouth, so let's just get moving. * Niri heads onward to the third floor, stomping up the staircase in a huff. * Vytor heads deeper into the complex Angie notices she's got a piece of white paper stuck to her shoe. (w) Maybe my new name for her should be Miss Sensitive? * Angharad shrugs and follows. * Ryllan eyes Trune, "Aw, the first spat. It's so cute." He shakes his head, "Shall we continue?" * Angie bends her knee and grabs her foot, holding it up to get a good look at the bottom of her boot. You can't really go any deeper from here. This is a dead end... obviously a side room. The 3rd or 1st floors must be where interesting things lurk, or a hidden basement perhaps. Back down I guess First? First Spat? Where have you been? We're like Oil and Vinegar. Down? Or up? * Saki shrugs as people start to file out, and tenses. "Well, ten silver is ten silver." And she's hopped forward in an instant to slam a foot into the padlocked door just below the lock. ...Hey wait! What are you implying here! * Trune quickly follows the others. * Ryllan chuckles as he follows Trune, "You said it." * Niri is out of hearing range of Trune and Ryllan, or else there would trouble! * Vytor heads back to the landing, seeing if there's a way to the 3rd floor The wind is also flowing into the hallways from the open door, causing it to creak and move back and forth of it's own will, hitting the floor stop with a rythmic thump. Saki makes a nice dent in the metal door. * Trune glowers a little at Ryllan's comment, but lets it slide. * Angharad utters a low growl as she regards the swaying door. * Niri follows the wind! * Angie watches the others depart. She starts to follow, but on a whim takes a detour into the men's room. * Saki frowns, pride seemly dented slightly, and troops off after the others. There will be a rematch, it seems. * Vytor keeps looking for a way up to the 3rd floor It's not hard to reach the third level. A simple set of stairs with wire mesh walkways leads there. * Niri is already on the third floor by now... Not a good idea to go racing off ahead of us Niri * Angharad clambers after her. Hey Niri, hold up! * Vytor hops up the stairs Niri finds the doorway there to be open! It's also flapping about. The sound of the wind is MUCH stronger here. If you listen closely, it sounds angry. * Niri looks behind her as the others catch up. "Oh, I bet I could handle anything I ran into at least till you guys caught up. I'm used to exploring ruins, you know!" She looks mildly huffy. Yeah but not ruins like- ...But maybe we'd better be careful from here on. I'm betting what's-his-name is in there somewhere... Jupiter pauses a moment, perking his pointed ears. * Trune suddenly stumbles, dropping his lantern. May I remind you that we just got attacked by a bunch of plants? For all we know this place might have murderous coffee machines or something We're indoors... It's not right the air should be like this... * Niri blinks at Trune. We're sure you could, Niri, but I think we'd all feel better if we didn't have to pry you away from a... you ok, Trune? * Vytor starts as the light changes abruptly * Niri picks up the lantern, watching him carefully. "Where is he? Can you tell?" * Trune suddenly looks up, "Niri, trust me, get back here!" [Leah] Hey, don't spaz out on us, Trune! What? Huh? *turns to look at the door, edging to the side a little* * Angie gives the men's room a quick once-over and then steps outside. Finding that she's alone, she runs out of the hall and up the stairs, feet clanking on the metal. "Hey, wait up!" I'm...I'm not spazzing, okay? I...I just tripped! Sorry. * Trune grabs his lantern, though he looks a little spooked. * Vytor looks in the direction of the wind Stay with the group, Niri. [Jupiter] ..we should investigate here further, Niri. * Saki easily catches up with the main body of the party, frowning at Trune before moving without a word back to the front of the group. * Vytor heads down the corridor somewhat warily * Angie arrives on the heels of a distinctly spooked group. The anxiety spreads to her as well, and she tightens her grip on the pistol as she follows. What happened? C'mon Trune, spill it. Do you know anything about where he is? Is he awake? Is he angry and going to kill us all? Is he enjoying a midafternoon snack of milk and cookies? Trune dropped the lantern and we all got a little spooked * DrWebbly nods to Angie as she catches up. The corridor is filled with a dull howl, and your clothes and hair are whipped about as you enter into it. You stumble around for awhile, before you notice a gaping hole in the cieling, where a hole is torn away in the walls and the air streams in, along with sunlight. * Niri follows Jupiter and the others, walking while looking back at Trune * Trune finally sighs, "He said he's chained and wants to be free." * Vytor goes to look up at the hole Happy now? ...Aha. Well, we can do that! * Saki looks down the corridor, then follows after Vytor, not looking back as she speaks. One step back at the blast of air and she's looking through the impromptu skylight with narrowed eyes. "Let's go. The sooner we're done here the better." [Jupiter] Yes, I got that much as well. But it is distant, weak. Hmm. You established contact Trune? * Angharad bares her teeth to the wind, eyeing the hole in the ceiling as though it were a vulture. ...Yeah. * Tanan follows the others, raising a hand to shield his eyes. "Can you ask him to cut the wind so we can find him?" I...can try. But I've...never been able to talk to them before. I...can just hear 'em. * Vytor keeps moving forward I think we should mostly count on Jupiter to do the communicating. Vytor gets a good view, and as he looks up he also notices that there is a hole in the floor not far away. Like something crashed right through this place into the floors below.. What works one way tends to work the other, Trune, you know that. * Niri heads forward, towards the front of the group. * Angie takes a careful step into the hall, moving like she expects the floor to disappear under her feet. She looks up at the hole in the ceiling, squinting into the gale. * Vytor wonders what could have punched a hole like that * Trune focuses for a moment, but then sighs once more, "I'm really sorry....It's just I have no idea where I'd begin." [Jupiter] Hmm.. a powerful projectile has been through here... a missle, perhaps? Well, don't worry about it for now, Trune. We'll find a way to talk to him! We just have to find him first. * Vytor kneels down and looks into the hole in the floor A missile? ...A missile? O_o * Saki kneels down on the edge of the hole, trying if nothing else to shield herself from the wind and peer down to the floor below. Really? Wouldn't that have... blown everything up? Missle? * Angie steps as close to the hole in the floor as she dares, leaning over to peer past Vytor into the darkness below. * Vytor skirts around the hole and keeps moving [Jupiter] Yes, an old, and very common, weapon.. fitted to aero craft. There could be manyc auses of this, whether recent accident, or an old scar of the war. If there's something down there, let's not mess with it unless we have to * Angharad looks at the ruined edges of the floor, tyring to judge how long ago they were made. Angharad figures that they too are recent fixtures. There is not much in the way of corrosion, and merely some erosion due to wind shear. This looks uncomfortably new... * Tanan walks over where Angharad is. "How can you tell?" [Leah] Maybe the wind hurled it over this way? Well. Do we have rope ladders or anything? Look at it... If this was old there should have been a lot more wear around the edges of the floor where the missile object punched though. But it's in relatively good condition, aside from the hole. Maybe Mercury is in a mood and if flining objects around * Angie nods as Vytor gives his theory. "If he wants to be free, then..." She trails off, staring down the hole. Vytor comes to another door at the end of the corridor. It leads to another room, which is currently locked with a card reader as well. It is labelled "Control Tower 2B - AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY". Bah, another one of those slot things * Tanan stares for a second or two. "Oh.. ok. That makes sense then!" Ah. Unfortunately. We will probably require access to that room eventually. But first I'd like to find Mercury and make sure he's safe. Poor lad. * Saki crosses her arms and stands back up, skirting around the hole a short way to get out of the wind and chart Vytor's progress. "So it's either down here, or through the padlock." Let's try going down. We haven't seen if there's a basement yet Hope we can...s'pretty windy. Does anyone have rope? We're going to need a card key at some point. I would imagine if you;re trying to put the wind in a box, you'd want to keep it away from the open air as much as possible Uh...I can check. I'm not sure I packed any. I don't think I have any rope * Trune kneels down and rummages through his bag. * Niri checks to make sure there aren't any other possible places to check on the third floor * Saki kneels back down at the hole's edge, trying to see how far down the floor of the room below might be. Sorry, no rope. Niri finds nothing else of note here, unles you want to jump down a gaping hole to oblivion. Sounds rather adventurous... I brought a geomantic eternal clock, three verniers, two telescopes, a transit, a tripod and clamps, five different kinds of compasses, a barometer, an entire geomantic toolkit, a sextand, and 60 pounds of books. You'd think someone else could have brought rope. Well, I've got string and a pack of cards. * Niri declines the adventure this time and decides to follow the rest of the group downstairs! So at least we're totally covered entertainment wise! I might have some red licorice, but that's as close as I could come. [Leah] Well, I could try making magic rope! ...Magic rope? Give it a whirl Doesn't that stuff sometimes evapor- I mean... yeah, give it a shot Also, what's a vernier? Tanan, please don't bad omen us. Please. C'mon Leah, I trust you! And if it's a delicious magic rope, so much the better. * Saki looks flatly at Angie for a moment, then frowns down at the hole. A moment later she's grabbed the edge and flipped herself over the rim of the hole and down, tucking into a ball to (hopefully) land and roll safely on the floor directly below. Leah starts fiddling around and then blinks as the air she's trying to manipulate winds and twists and blows away... upwards. Why is the wind blowing Up out of the hole? There's a hint Mercury's got to be down there He's down there? [Leah] That's strange. I could've sworn a mintue ago it was flowing down... ...and there goes Saki. So... did that disrupt your spell? Weird, for wanting to be free, why is repelling us? * Niri blinks after Saki. And Saki leaps down into the darkness. She catches a wind current, which slows her down considerably * Angie kneels down and peers into the hole, getting a blast of wind in the face for her trouble. "Saki! Are you okay?" * Angharad belatedly notices that Saki is no longer standing with the rest of the group and peers down below. She soon finds herself sprawled out on a carpeted first floor. The hole is in front of her, still leading deeper. * Saki glances around her, frown deepening as she keeps an eye out for anything interesting. Damned magic ruins. She calls up; "The wind slowed my fall down - too much to be normal. There's a room down here, but the hole goes lower." Huh...wait a moment. We need to investigate further, then! Hmmm. Think it's safe to jump? The wind might catch me if I did...that'd be awesome. Let's just hope the wind doesn't die down, or worse, change direction * Trune peers a little closer at the hole, "...I wonder if we could temporarily control the current somehow. It'd slow our fall for sure." Beyond the gaping, though slightly smaller hole, is a passage to a much fancier office-style doorway. She must be in the hallway beneath, as behind her appears to be the door leading into the main hangar bay. I'm not sure I'd trust it... It changed so suddenly. It could change again. We might do better to just go back down the stairs I bet we'll have to find a bloody key or something. * Niri blinks. Wait, why didn't I think of that? It's worth a try...thanks, Trune! * Angie sticks a hand into the column of wind, wiggling her fingers and feeling the air rush through them. "Like breath," she muses. << Ack. Er, wait, can you do that, Niri? * Niri tries casting a wind spell to see if she can harness the shifting winds to any usable degree! Only one way to find out! If this an off-shoot of Mercury's breathing, we might be able to time our jumps down His twin tails whip around in a little white tornado and he is rolled onto the floor with stars in his Ice Mongrel eyes. *_* « er floor in front of Saki » [Leah] Shiro, hey! I thought we agreed you wouldn't run off like that again! * Saki raises her eyebrows and smirks at the creature for a second. Then, after kneeling at the hole and feeling the current with her fingertips, she repeats the same move as the current flows upwards, dropping another level. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained right? * Vytor hops down after Saki, half-expecting to break his neck in the process * Tanan sighs, and waits for a gust to hop down as well Niri's wind spell interacts with the air a little chaotically, causing it to disperse and destablize. The bunch of people jumping fall right down past what can bevguessed is two absement levels and land in a heap on a hard stone floor! ...ow Wh...hey! Are you two okay?! * Niri blinks, then sighs. "Well, it might have helped to wait and see if it worked before jumping... * DrWebbly looks down the hole. "How is it down there?" * Angie sucks air in through her teeth and winces. "Ooog." Cupping her free hand to her mouth, she hollers down, "Are you okay?" * Angharad grimaces in sympathetic pain. Oh well. *Waits for a gust, then jumps after the others* I'm i pain, so I have that going for me at least. * Tanan thuds into the ground next to Vytor. "...oh shit what the hell just.... ow." Let's not do that again * Saki lets out a rather uncharacteristic surprised yelp as the wind currents shift and she's suddenly tumbling much farther than expected. While partially already tucked and ready to roll she still sprawls rather at the end of the move, wincing in pain. * Trune sighs, braces himself, and jumps in after Niri, "Just warn me before you do it!' * Vytor grimaces, and checks to see if he broke anything Tanan finds that the ground next to him is occupied by the remains of a huge, mangled metal object. One end has a few fins sticking out. * Tanan turns his head and pales. * Angie swallows hard as she gets back to her feet. "Not feeling real confident about this." Wow, two feet to the left and.. hurghk. As a few moments pass, the back and forth breath of the unknown resumes. * Tanan slowly sits up, wincing. * Vytor rolls to one side, hoping not to get landed on * Saki frowns as she feels the current return. A couple of moments, then she calls up. "... and what did you lot do just then?" I think I'll just lie here for a sec * Ryllan grimaces as he jumps and lands, "Niri... be more careful next time." The late comers find themselves pleasantly deposited on the heap of allies. I don't like this. Do you plan on jumping, Angie? * Saki steps nimbly to one side, letting the people land as she twists one arm, testing the joint she landed roughly on. "Tch. There was some office or something up there. It could have been useful." * Angie shrugs. "I guess it's in the interest of science," she says, sounding entirely unconvinced. She bites her lip, crosses her fingers, and jumps on the next gust up. Hey! You all chose to jump after I said I was going to try something! Next time wait for me to say if it worked or not! * Trune yelps as he lands right on top of something or someone! Leah sighs and goes, follwoed by Jupiter, looking rather non-plussed about all of this as he grabs DrWebbly with him protectively. * Niri crawls off the heap, removing her shoe from someone's face. Erk! * DrWebbly is grabbed as Jupiter jumps down. "Aiee!" Ow...my spleen. * Saki frowns, crossing her arms. "There's such a thing as not fixing things that are already working." Then in an instant she's all movement, checking the basement for any sign of important items or, say, monsters. * Angharad grumbles and jumps, aiming to land on all fours and spread the impact of her weight as she lands. * Niri sticks a tongue out at Saki's back. oh hell...can someone get off my shins please ...you have gum on your shoe Niri. And thusly on my face Angharad lands with animal grace and deftness, ready for danger. Sorry Professor. * Trune rolls off Tanan's ...uh, shin, and just lies there for a moment. * Angie lands with rather less grace and deftness, but she manages to make it down without ruining herself. She rolls off the pile of people and onto her back, staring up at the distant spot of light. * Angharad gives herself a shake as she stands upright again. Her stomach still feels queasy from the fall. Ever the poractive sort, Saki's investigation find the group in a tin corridor. The floor is stone, but the walls remind you of the Pentagon. There is some old tech at work here, as masses of vents and pipes sprawl everywhere. « er proactive » * Tanan groans. "Now I remember why I took a desk job instead of- oof. Hi.. angie.." « thin corridor too. » * Vytor drags himself way from the disentagling pile, wincing as he does so * Saki frowns around the corridor, looking more unsettled. "This looks like the right sort of place." Ngh. Let's hope we don't break more bones. The wind is blowing against your faces, from somewhere down in that thicket of metal and eerie gusts. * Trune 's hair blows forward as he stands up, and he shields his face with one hand, and holds up the lantern with another. [Jupiter] Hmm, the presence is much stronger now. I don't hear him though... * Tanan slowly pulls himself up, dusting himself off. "Next time.. stairs. I'm serious." I think with all this wind that would be obvious. * Vytor uses some mangled metal object near Tanan to get back to his feet * Angie peels herself off the floor and reaches into her coat, pulling out the glass ball she had in the Pentagon. It's made of sterner stuff than it looks like, as it appears unharmed. It tugs violently on the string, almost leaping from her hand. "Whoa! Okay, I guess that answers that." She winds the string around her finger a few times so the ball doesn't get away from her. * Ryllan hrms, "Trune, you got anything?" Sorry Vytor. About the gum. No lasting harm done, Niri No...I don't hear anything, and that's rather bizzare. * Niri head forward in the direction the wind is coming from. "Hmm..." * DrWebbly seems unaffected by the wind. His cloak remains still, though the faintest traceries of a grid-sphere can be seen to glow around him. ...Wait. Hmm? * Saki raises an eyebrow, tapping the floating glass ball with a finger. "Then we follow the little guy." And she turns, walking carefully up the corridor. Though joking she's clearly taut with tension, and stops immediately at Trune's word, all nerves. Is something different, Trune? * Trune closes his eyes, "Be careful. I...hear stuff...but it's all jumbled. I don't think he's quite in the right mind, if you know what I mean." Again? Oh man... [Jupiter] I think you are responding to the flows of energy, rather than him directly. * Saki takes a deep breath for a long moment, then nods, cracking her knuckles. "That's nothing new. Let's go." I could be wrong, but nothing I'm hearing is even words...just a lot of noise. * Trune blinks, "Really?" Well, glad to know I'm wrong about him being temporarily mad, no offense. * Saki returns to picking her way along the corridor. * Vytor limps after the group Saki is right behind Niri, who follows the twisting path around a corner and are greeted with a strange sight! The room begins to open up, and the wind here flows erratically, in many gusts, forming an odd, if disjointed pattern. It's even visible to the naked eye, each pusle glowing a light blue and tingling with Air energy in it's purest form. There are four streams of air blocking the path directly ahead, ans their force shows Saki and Niri back bodily a few steps. « er shoves. » * Vytor falls in line behind Niri and Saki, "Well, this looks promising." * Angharad can feel her fur stand on end at the sight of the phenomenon. * Saki staggers back with a 'whuff' of noise, then stares ahead in disbelief, teeth gritted. Raking a hand through her hair again she mutters under her breath. "You have to be kidding me." What in the world... Whoa...that's incredible. Behind the first four motes of energized wind rests more, arranged in laternating directions. On either side of the room, a strong current blows back the way you came. Should you somehow manage to advance, a slight drift would send you back to the landing zone. * Ryllan blinks, "Oh... my." So...how do we get past this? Hmm. It is very impressive. For someone who wants to be freed, he sure makes it difficult to get to him. * Ryllan closes his eyes and reaches out to the tendrils mentally, checking and proping at them. Probeing I could see if the ECC is sufficent, but it was an experimental device. «ooc: Fuckit, you know what I mean. » I think he's throwing some sort of tantrum-equivalent? Angharad, I don't think he has any say in the matter. :P * Trune watches Ryllan, "I see what you're doing. Good idea." My wind magic didn't seem to be too effective before. But this is a barrier...wonder if I could destabilize IT? He is controlling the air, isn't he? * Trune does likewise. * Angie almost gets dragged into the airflow by the straining ball. She slips the gun into her coat, yanks the ball back against her chest, and taps it with her other hand, causing it to immediately fall limp. She stows it with a sigh. "This is going to be a bit tricky." Niri? Please don't yet. I'll beg. I'm not proud. My back still hurts too much from the last one. Jupiter considers. "I'm afraid I can do nothing with Air, as it's not my domain." No, no, I have an idea this time. I'm wondering if I could reverse the direcion of the airflow. So unless you plan on jumping into it while I'm trying stuff, you're probably safe. :P * Angharad shrugs. "It's worth a shot." Niri, Hold on a moment, please. * Angie steps back a few paces in spite of Niri's assurances. Well, I'll give it a try if everyone gives their approval. * Vytor puts his hands behind his head and waits for an answer. Magic is so not his thing. Go for it Angie gets a very good idea of the arrangement of the enrgy "cells" of wind, each distinct and able to be manipulated, if she had the right skills... * Niri waits to see what Ryllan's going to try first * Saki is leaned up against the wall; she stays silent as people debate, looking a little peaky once more. * Trune gives up for the moment and lets Ryllan give it a go. Alright, first of all, we've gotta get one of these turned... AROUND! *With Ryllan's shout, he PUSHES at the closest tendril of air to him, trying to reverse it's direction. Ryllan remembers his metamagic classes well, grabbing a hold of the middle gust and shifting it 180 degress, so it actually blows forward. Success! Alright, now if I can just... * Ryllan maintains his hold on the first gust, and reaches farther, reaching, reaching, "Comeone, comeon... almost have it..." * Niri blinks. "Whoa, cool!" * Angharad nods. I have no idea how you did that, but uh...it works! Ryllan strains, and doesn't quite get the last row to turn fully... instead of flipping it's now surging right. * Vytor works out some of the kinks from his earlier fall Mmf. Strong, isn't he? Didn't even manage to turn in a helpful direction. Can you do it on your own? [Leah] Still, amazing! I... I think so. * Angie 's eyes glint behind her thick enses. "That's a pretty good trick," she says with a hint of a smile. * Ryllan reaches out again, "Just gotta arrange things the right..." I'm at a loss here, but impressed The air in the center shifts to Rylan's whims. A path forward is created, but the rear wall grabs the current and drags it to the left wall. « er rear barrier of air. » * Saki has quietened, staying leant against the wall and watching the proceedings dully. She doesn't look too hot, eyes flicking over the swirling currents. It's the same thing I do to your spells, Tanan. Just a little... bigger. * Ryllan reaches out again, "One more time..." * Vytor rotates his left arm a few times, looking over at Saki, "You OK?" Ryllan arranges the airflow without incident. It is now leading ahead, but isn't forming a complete path. * Saki doesn't respond at first, then focuses over at Vytor after a moment. "... think I reached my limit with this place. Don't like it much." er.. It is forming a path, if bent at an angle. Might be a rough ride, but workable. If the air decides to obey long enough, that is. I think we're almost done. ssuming Mercury doesn't spring out and try to kick our butts. Better get moving then while Ryllan's control holds. Yeah... [Jupiter] Impressive. You really are Adepts. * Ryllan opens his eyes, holding on is easier than manipulation, after all, "Now, uh. Go. Please." * Tanan sighs, closes his eyes, and steps into the forward flow * Trune heads out into the path. * Angharad jumps into the path, and soon finds herself being shoved along. * Vytor rubs his hands, and dives into the airflow Such mastery of psychokinetic forces. If we had such techniques, perhaps wasshisname wouldn't have been a threat. Brave Tana finds himself sucked forward on a gale of elemntal power. As he reaches the rear wall of the chamber he's jerked sideways and coughed up on the floor beyond, unharmed if a bit shook up. « Tanan » Or perhaps the world would have been rent asunder. Session Time: Sat Apr 08 00:00:00 2006 * Tanan quickly rolls out of the way * Trune ows as he's jerked sideways and lands right next to Tanan, "...Well, least that worked." Not really, Doctor. This is... fairly useless without a flow to work with. * Angharad barrels out beside Trune. "That was quick..." * Vytor gets dragged along by the airflow, and gets tossed out rather unceremoniously * Saki pushes off the wall. For a moment she stares at the currents, then carefully steps into them; as she's taken by the wind she spreads her feet, apparently doing a passable job of skidding her way along the path now she's seen others travel it. At the end she twists to the side, braking to a stop rather quickly. * Angie looks sadly at Webbly. "It's something to wonder about. Willforce is still new to us, too. There's no telling what'll come of it. It's a little scary, isn't it?" She cracks her knuckles and steps up to the vortex. "But as the man says, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained.'" She steps into the wind and is tugged forward, yelping in spite of herself. * Vytor shakes his head, and rights himself after such a trip I hope we don't have to do that again. * DrWebbly waits for the exit point to be clear, the steps into the wind to be whisked away! * Tanan looks ruefully at Vytor. "Do you think there's really any hope of that?" * Niri follows the others No Yeah. Me neither. * Niri somersaults out of the wind, crashing into Trune's shins. * DrWebbly staggers out the other side. "Whee. I wanna go again." Dr Webbly finds that the winds substantially less effective against him, though it is still enough to drag him along like a conveyor belt instead of a rollercoaster. * Angie stumbles as she is forcibly ejected. She hops sideways a few metres, pinwheeling, before she regains her balance. * Tanan pulls himself back to his feet, again. Jupiter and Leah also hop through. * Saki stands up straight, looking impeccable in her balance. At least the training is good for one thing. * Trune ows and rubs his shins. Alright. My turn. *With a whoop, he jumps into the flows, knowing what he's expecting.* * Vytor interectps Leah as she's spat out from the airflow Ryllan gets perhaps the wildest ride of the bunch, as his grip on the aletred flows starts to revert as he is sucked through, sending him for a few spin cycles before being spit out the other end! The way behind him has also reset itself.. but then again, getting out is easy. «ooc: What to expect. » Uh....sorry, Trune. *Gets to her feet and dusts herself off* S'okay. * Ryllan gets dumped unceremoneously out the spout, "...ow. Remind me to concentrate harder when going through next time." Leah oofs cutely as Vytor catches her. ^^ So.. ahhh.... onwards? * Vytor sets Leah down, checking to make sure everyone got through Please don't say that, Ryllan Yeah, let's keep going. * Saki is right back to looking around warily, scoping out this side of the room and the corridor beyond; she perhaps looks a little more panicky than she did earlier, but she seems to be well in control. * Niri elbows Leah. How sweet and gentlemanly of him! * Vytor sets off again [Leah] *grins* Thanks Vytor! No problem. * Ryllan stands up, and continues, looking just a little sick. Saki notices the air is still flowing, though now it is strong and measured. There is what appears to be a golden door at the end of the walkway. It is cracked in many places where the wind seeps through, flaking bits off as it goes. Wait, you've seen this before... Hey! I'll bet Mercury's behind that. I don't have the staff anymore, though. Dr. Webbly, will you do the honors? * Vytor grasps his hammer, just in case Mercury goes postal You know... I wonder how that staff wound up on Lunar. * Saki continues forwards, frowning as she walks against the wind; "That door looks wrecked." Jupiter's eyebrows raise noticably. * Trune glances at Tanan, "Good question." * DrWebbly ambles towards the door. "Open Sesame?" [Leah] The Elementalor staff? I'm not really sure, but the history books said it was a gift from Queen Virtue... That I know, Leah. Question is...how'd she get it? [Jupiter] I am impressed that the chamber door has sustained this much damage. Mine was not nearly so frail. * DrWebbly waves his hands at the door. "Abra cadabara?" Do you think the damage was caused by Mercury or something else? * Vytor raises an eyebro at Dr Webbly As Dr Webbly moved forward, the grid sphere that encompasses his personal space begins to manifest and light up, and where it strikes, the bits of door dissapate into smoke. Oh right. It's the quasi-real metal. Nice trick * Saki stares flatly at the Doctor for a brief while as he speaks. She's about to walk forward and offer help when the first bit of the door disintegrates, causing her to all but leap backwards. * Trune bites his lip, "Better get ready, everyone." * DrWebbly walks into the doorway moving about to clear space. * Trune follows Dr. Webbly inside. * Vytor follows behind Dr Webbly Well the door isn't really there, in someways. Which is why it's so impenertrable. Ironic, no? * Angie slips a hand into her coat and withdraws her weapon again. "OK," she says, stepping forward, "here goes nothing." It's not there? An illusion? Dr Webbly clears the doorway. The smnoke hangs there strangely, in defiance of the air currents. There.. but not. * Angharad looks at Webbly with an expression that says she doesn't understand. Ahh. Let us call it, fooling the world? * Trune gives the Dr. A quizzical look, "...Wouldn't that be an illusion?" I think it breaks the unified theory, but it's highly effective. * Saki makes a skeptical noise at the various talk, but steps forward anyway, shifting back to the front of the party once more. Well. An illusion fools people. This fools inert matter. * Vytor looks around, not liking all this smoke Oh. * DrWebbly waves his hands at the smoke. "Darn it, can't see a thing. Mercury, you awake boy?" The atomsphere changes dramatically as the blockage no longer exists for the moment. The air gets oddly calm. ... Maybe it's something like the door to master Hylan's home? They say it's just a broom closet if he doesn't want you to go in. Or maybe they were just trying to fool kids into getting locked into a broom closet... ...You mean he made that whole story up!? You mean I FELL for...oh. * Niri eyes Trune for a moment. * Vytor looks around as the air goes dead * Niri muffles a snicker. * Trune shuts up, "Nothing, nothing." Well, it might be true! I don't know. How many people have really seen the place? Ah. Perhaps there was a Lion and a witch inside? * Angie takes a deep breath of the suddenly-calmed and steps through the smoke, gun held in front of her like a talisman. ...Oh come on! I was SIX. * Saki tugs on her gloves as the group continue, expecting trouble. * Tanan looks at Webbly, puzzled. "Cleaning supplies and irritable old lady maybe?" How long were you AT the Academy, anyway? Or a mellowed sick toad? Me? Since I was a baby. * DrWebbly tilts his head to one side. "That can't be right." * Angharad checks for her halberd as the group moves on, reassuring herself it's there and ready should anything surprise them. Around you you find a laboratory in disarray, like a tornado has ripped through it. And when you notice the short, blue haired man in that familiar white experiment robe standing in the center of it all on a broken table, you realize that may not be far from the truth. [Mercury] Gyah... FINALLY!! ..? Hello? [Jupiter] ! Uh oh. Hello? Mercury? * DrWebbly crosses his arms. "Are you in control Mercury? We don't want any accidents." * Saki stops dead, tense and ready to attack if need be. The figure lashes out at the voices without thinking, a hurricane barreling your way. But it stops in midair, spinning harmlessly as the crazy look in the Elementalor's eyes fades. "Brother Jupiter...?" * Angie puts her back to a wall and draws a bead on Mercury. Her hands are shaking slightly, but she seems more together than she was during the encounter with jupiter. Behind her glasses her eyes are dark and narrow. o_O; * Trune tenses just as the hurricane is about to hit, but blinks as it stops midway. * DrWebbly steps fowards and to the side a little, debris crunching underfoot. [Jupiter] Yes, it is I. Calm down and focus. The war is over. * Angharad grimaces, hoping Mercury keeps his hold on his sanity. * Vytor waves somewhat lamely at Mercury ^^; * Niri blinks, looking around the room and staring at Mercury. * Saki twitches visibly at the gust of magical wind, and for the briefest of moment she's almost ready to blaze forwards. Um...hi! Nice to meet you! [Mercury] ...over? I... what... I just wanted.. freedom.. * Ryllan waits, silent. Letting the Elementalors complite rituals or whatever. (w) Which you now have. * Tanan frowns, muttering. "Freedom..." * Niri leans over to Trune. "I think he's a little out of it." Mercury glares a bit at the doctor. "You're not going to put me back in that accursed capsule are you?" * Trune nods, "Poor guy." Ah. No. I'm Doctor Webbly, by the way. I know I look a bit different. Why were you in there in the first place? *Looks curious* I'm afraid the world we knew has been a bit wrecked, and suchlike. [Mercury] You are.. Homunculi unit. A program of the dead doctor's? I good question! I died when I tried hooking myself up to it, it seems. So I might be me. Or an echo. A ghost perhaps. My, my. That is a nasty thought. [Jupiter] Of a sort. There's much to explain. For your safety, allow him to engage the ECC. * DrWebbly shakes his head, muttering to himself at high speed. [Mercury] ... *looks between the two* Oh. Would you like to visit the moon? [Jupiter] Ask acting Commander of the Elementalors, that is an order, brother Mercury. « er as » * Vytor stands still, not knowing what else to do * DrWebbly turns to the party and just shrugs slightly. * Trune blinks, and looks disturbed for a moment. * TheStoryteller Fine. But I'm still remembering what they made me do here. It's not pleasant. « gah » [Mercury] Fine. But I'm still remembering what they made me do here. It's not pleasant. Well. There shouldn't be any need for that. [Mercury] And you say you're going to the moonbase? * Niri shrugs. "Whatever they made you do, the ones who did it are gone now." If it's there.. and suchforth. * DrWebbly cocks his head to one side. Subject Mercury. Control Code Zero-Zero-Seven-Beta-Omega-Nana-Delta. Wha? Mercury shivers once, then gets remarkably somber. * Trune looks down, now looking VERY disturbed. Ah. That should erm. Make sure nothing goes wrong. Do we have a spare cloak? I don't want him to catch cold. What did you do to him? * Ryllan takes off his cape, wordlessly tossing it to Webbly. Jupiter is already on it, handing his air-borne brother a bit more clothing to fight the nasty drafts. * DrWebbly catches the cape, and walks over to Mercury, putting it around his shoulders gently. "There, there lad. Things should be better from now on for you. Let's get somewhere comfy?" Comfy would be out of here, I think O_o Oh my. And yeah, I second Vytor. [Mercury] The systems here are barely working. But with Brother Jupiter, I think I can restore power to the mass driver. Unless it's wrecked beyond repair... Something wrong, Niri? Just....oh, never mind! Leah roots around in some of the shattered artifacts and pulls out a shiny little keycard with a strange logo on it. [Leah] ...hah, treasure senses strike again! * Angharad looks at Leah's trophy. "What is that?" * Saki frowns around the room as everything settles down; she looks more than ready to get out of here. Is that the card thingie the door want? [Leah] I bet it is. [Mercury] That's.. a level 3 secuirty clearance card. It can get you into the control tower for launches. Wonder if that.. moonbase.. thing is ok? Mercury seems to grumble looking at it. * Angie finally lowers her gun, exhaling heavily. She flips the safety with her thumb and puts the weapon away. Will you be able to tell without.. going there? I mean, it's supposed to be pretty... Er.. what's the word I'm looking for * Trune suddenly looks towards Mercury, sympathy on his face, "I'm sorry it wasn't different." Inhospitable? [Jupiter] Let's see what kind of a condition mission control is in. The ramp seems relatviely undamaged, but we need a working launch vehicle. That works, thanks. Mercury looks up towards Trune, a flash of realization dawning on him [Mercury] You.. are a telepath? Er...yes. Personally, I think he's a bit weird and annoying, but yeah, he appears to be somewhat telepathic too. *Tries to grab Trune and give him a noogie, which is rather difficult considering their respective heights.* G...hey! * Angharad regards the party curiously. "I suppose I should have asked this earlier, but are the lot of you intending to go to the moonbase with Jupiter?" Watch it, littlebit, eh? No. I don't think so? * Tanan looks around at everyone * Trune then puts a hand on Niri's forhead in order to keep her back. * Saki crosses her arms. "No. We have someone we need to check on. That's the Doctor's business." [Mercury] I can sense you're powerful, in any case. Just what are your names? Mine should be obvious. Honestly, I'd like to, but...I'm a little worried about what would happen if I did. * Angharad nods. "I see." I'm prof- damn you people, you've got me saying it now. I'm Tanan. Nice to meet you. [Jupiter] Afraid that's imposible. I would rather only we risk it. If an emergency happened it would be very grave. Trune McVery. The one flailing crazily here is Niri. * Ryllan chuckles, "Smooth, Professor. I'm Ryllan Barak." Name's Vytor. Hi. * Angie lifts a hand to offer Mercury an unenthusiastic wave. "Angie," she says simply. Angharad. * Saki frowns around the room, apparently getting lost in thought and missing the man asking for her name. She looks edgy and nervous. Again. Hey now, I don't flail! ...Usually. [Leah] Leah Caldor! and loyal sidekick Shiro! *he arfs* * Trune takes his hand off Niri's forehead and grins, "S'what you get for nooging me." * Niri pushes Trune's hand away, considering biting it. It's self-preservation! I mean, can you blame me? Hardly! What, you're afraid of me and my noogies of death? * Vytor jabs a thumb at Saki, "That's Saki, over there." Nah, you just keep messing up my hair and giving me scalp burn. Bah! You're just a wimp! Anyway, uh, hi Mercury! Nice to meet you. *salutes* * Angie slips a sideways look at Niri and Trune. Mercury bows once, though he still looks mildly unsettled. He looks towards his taller sibling. "You aren't going without me, brother Jupiter. This are is my specialty, and I was nevr allwoed to physically go into space, only projection.." ...What? « er area is » [Jupiter] Yes, you heard him right, Niri. WE Elementalors did not often leave our laboratories, rather we used the systems to project ourselves anywhere on Earth and manipulate elements from great distances. [Mercury] I'm assuming you want to see the moonbase because of the backup projectors there? That's a handy trick... [Jupiter] Correct, brother. If they are functional, and we gather the others, we can understand what our destiny is now, with the Devestation War a distant memory. * Angie crosses her arms, hugging them close to her side. "Will you be able to communicate from there?" she asks. Her distracted tone reveals that her mind is elsewhere. It's sort of the premise of their function. Remote devastation. [Jupiter] I also propose we aid these fine souls in their journey, as it seems an old enemy may be afoot. * TheStoryteller Zophar is alive...? Hmm. I wonder if we can find some kind of sat-phone. « :( » [Mercury] Zophar is alive...? He isn't! He shouldn't be, anyway. My dad killed him. At least that's what Dad says. But that was back on Lunar, th- that is what they say though, isn't it? I mean, I heard that story going around the academy. * Vytor tries to follow the conversation with some difficulty [Mercury] ...hmm... enough for now. I'm much more concerned with getting you airborne. I can be briefed later. [Jupiter] Always impatient and flighty. Jupiter tsks. Perhaps we should go and open the doors and all that? And erm. Find a way back up the hole? That would be good. Agreed * TheStoryteller Hole? Oh... that. I unconsciously hurled a missle into the facility at a key juncture to make an air passage for power to recover. « .. » [Mercury] Hole? Oh... that. I unconsciously hurled a missle into the facility at a key juncture to make an air passage for power to recover. <> Since Mercury is calmer now, could he just fly us back up the hole? That was very dangerous! You could have killed yourself! ...I don't know if that's really scary or really cool. [Mercury] I was desperate! It was so stuffy when i awoke. I can imagine! Let us get you into the fresh air then! Maybe Saki can make a celebratory cake? Sort of a 3042nd birthday cake. ...Is there one of your siblings who controls fire? There is, isn't there. * Angie lifts both eyebrows, but holds back comment. Yeah, Tanan. At least according to the good doctor's writings. [Jupiter] Naturally. That would be Mars. * Saki blinks up from her position in the corner, broken out of her thoughts. "Mm? ... I'd need the right tools." * Tanan buries his face in his hands. "Why do I have a horrible premonition." [Mercury] Last I knew, he communicated from a base on the west coast. « er SHE. » Ah. There is a pyrokinetic. And a Umbral. And photo. And floral. And aquan. And terra. You guys are going to go up to these projectors, and we're going to agree to look for your siblings in our travels. And we'll find her. And I'm going to wind up on fire. I just know it. if in your travels you can visit them it could be very handy. I knew it. [Mercury] Enough of this talking. I'm going topside. We can take the elevator.. or my way. Elevator? That sounds better. If the elevator's working, I vote elevator. Yeah, elevator sounds good. ^^; My body is a bit battered. No sense of adventure! Broken bones heal! You can only take so much when littlebits fly into your shins! Yeah, tell me about it. Hey, why are you calling me that? Dangit Trune! * Angie gives Webbly's metal leg a punt. "Easy for you to say." [Mercury] *think* On second though, forget the elevator... I'm going to fly! [Jupiter] ...Mercury, don't overdo it. ....Fly? * Trune smiles, "What?" Ohhhhhhhh please can I come? :D *barely resisting the urge to grab Mercury's shins* Well. My body doesn't heal. Which is a shame. And yes, be careful Mercury. An infected cut could be distastorous. Niri, think about that for a second. Thinking for a second isn't as fun. Uh...Niri, that's probably a really bad idea. * Niri sulks. Then think for two. Mercury doesn't listen to anywone else, intent on getting out of this hole. And indded he does, going zooming through the shadowy door and the rest of the party getting sucked up into his wake, twirling in a vortex of energy! ....Whoa, that was awesome. Ough wait hey no no! * Saki very nearly balks moments before she's tumbling upwards. Or the decision could be made for us. [Leah] Aieeee! Wait, ack! Hey wait a moment! Oh for balls sake!! * Niri stops as they all get sucked after him Okay, this ISN'T awesome! Oh my. This could be very uncomfortable. You totally jinxed it! If I live through this I'm so blaming you! * Ryllan plays with the energy a bit, stablizing his own little pocket enough to make the ride a little more comfy. Jupiter just folds his hands and waits for the storm to be over. * Angharad feels sick. You are carried out of the room, back through the corridor of winds, as he absorbs them and continues along at a good clip! The crevice you fell down is his next stop as the twister rises from it towards the open skies! * Angie shrieks in an entirely undignified manner, flailing her legs in the hope of finding purchase. After a few seconds she finds her head and calms down enough to stop yelling, but her eyes are still as wide as saucers. Hey look! Carpet. I wonder whose office? And slowly you arc through the blue, before floating gently back down to earth, at the front of the hangar where this all started. Hoi o_O; * Tanan touches down, takes three unsteady steps, and unceremoniously sits down, hanging his head. "Make it stop I want off." ...Whee. * Angharad sinks down on all fours and gives herself a shake. Air travel is definitely not for her. Mercury looks very satisfied, like a caged bird who just spread it's wings. In fact the air whips about him almost like a phantasmal pair of them. Whoa, dizzy! *stumbles a few steps* ....Ummm....actually? That was FUN. * Trune lands back on the ground, looking dizzy. His hair is flying askew in many directions thanks to wind sheer. X_x * Tanan stares up at Niri, looking pained. Fun like apendectomy maybe o_O; * Niri giggles at Trune's hair. Vytor? * Vytor shakes his head a few times Yes? Whattaya say we stay in the truck next time we find one of these places. * Saki staggers away from the landing zone, managing a few steps before tumbling to her knees with a shudder. She looks sick. [Jupiter] *sigh* if you've had you fill, then please take them inside to control. I am going to check the power supplies to the ramp and secure us a craft from another hangar. * Angie lands in a heap. Instantly she's back on her feet, chest rising and falling like a jackhammer. She grits her teeth and fixes Mercury with a drilling glare, but she sucks down whatever complaint she was about to make. [Mercury] Yes sir. I'm on it. Good idea, Tanan * Tanan nods. * Vytor goes to check on Saki, who doesn;t seem to be doing well So. Did anyone drop that keycard? leah is wobbling around dizzily, but she's still got a deathgrip on it. Shiro, where are you? You all right? [Leah] Key... pretty... @_@ Shiro is actually still floating as Niri says this, and he promptly lands on her head, draped like a fur shawl. He pants happily. * Trune makes a small 'urp' noise and shakes his head, "Right, never doing that again. Ever." * Saki heaves out a shuddering breath before collapsing back on her haunches, gulping air. After a moment the green leaves her cheeks and she's accepting a hand up, looking slightly improved. You OK? [Mercury] Sick already? Glad you're not going to be flying, humans. I'm afraid we're very much ground dwellers. * Saki barely bristles at the chiding; only just, but it's there. She nods at Vytor, looking askance. "I'd be better without the need to show off." Oh. I'll be so glad not to suffer from g-forces. That mass driver still gives me the willies. * Niri giggles and grabs Shiro off her head, giving him a hug and a cuddle. [Mercury] Let's go check the system status. I can't wait! Shiro, you're about the only one who doesn't freak out and look at me weird when I think something's fun! That was some ride, huh? Let it go, its not a hill worth dying on Saki Shiro just woofs and licks her face. So who's going up in that thing? This is because the Pup isn't quite smart enough to understand dangerous, Niri. [Leah] Just Jupiter, mercury and WEbbly, right? I'd advise such. * Niri rolls her eyes Mercury is already by the hangar door, waving you inside. * DrWebbly makes shooing motions I wish you guys would just stop giving me a hard time. How do you even manage to enjoy life? You seem to hate everything we've been through so far! * Tanan sighs, standing up. "I donno. Can we go back to the part where grass tries to eat us? That was a lot of fun. Compared anyway." So...how long will you three be gone, then? Ah. Hopefully we will arrange a contact method! I'll miss you all terribly otherwise. * Niri grins. "That's sweet of you, Dr. Webbly." You three going to be OK? * Trune hms, frowing, "Nah, couldn't work. Too long a distance." [Mercury] Contact... hmm. There's numerous ways. * Saki rakes a hand through her hair, sighing out a shaky breath. "... alright. We've that card, or we can just leave now and report our success and check if Leon's still alive." * DrWebbly ushers people into the hanger. "Is it? Well. We'll have to see if we can come back or not when we get there. But the lads can project, so it'll be fine." [Mercury] I can show you something interesting in communications.. now hurry up! Uh....okay. :o So...should we get on with the rest of our business while you're gone, then? * Angie gives the doctor a sad smile. "Let's hope. We just found you, so you aren't allowed to go disappearing on us yet." She gives him a clap on the shoulder as she walks into the hangar. "We need to show you the new world still!" * Vytor follows Please don't make the God of Wind irritable. Hurry, hurry. * Angharad moves at a brisk pace. Mercury leads Angie back to the 3rd floor, where the card key fits into the entrance to the control tower. The door slides open with a swoosh. The air's also acting much more normal. * Niri follows the others. * Saki follows after the group, still looking a little shaky and unpleasant; she's apparently getting very tired at the need of each of these creatures to show off. Beyond it is a small corridor, and another door, which opens out into a gigantic room, filled with rows of desks and equipment. Wires are everywhere, and the wall themselves are display screens! A line of windows is on one side, overlooking the tarmac and launch ramp. Wow, what's all this? Does all this stuff still work? A few of the displays are faded, one has nothing but static, two are operation and read outputs of various system readiness and atmopsheric conditions. A blue screen showing flight trajectories is totally empty of things it would probably be tracking. Whoa.. [Mercury] It's.. in decent shape. * Angie is instantly buoyed by the sight. She rushes over to one of the screens, gazing at it as though transfixed. Cool! So what does all this do? * Vytor avoids touching anything, ince case its breakable Mercury goes over to a chair, which swings around a few times. He begins concentrating and the weather conditions outside start changing. Wind shifts, and the displays react accordingly. he smiles. Stuff. * DrWebbly waves his hands vaguely. Tells us what's in the air, and should let us put things in the air at great speeds. Fast like we just experienced, or faster? [Mercury] Don't worry too much. This is the nerve enter for what used to be the biggest aerospace complex in the country. And there might be a pizza oven hidden in the corner. Geeks are like that. [Mercury] Still low on power though.... hmm. * DrWebbly tilts his head up. "Ahh.. pizza.. I knew you well, Horatio." After a moment, the lights flicker and some dead screens blink to life! [Mercury] There's brother. * Trune frowns for a moment, "(w) What the hell is pizza?' * Saki lurks in the doorway of the room, looking out of place and, frankly, very tired. (w) Maybe it's some philisophical concept? * Vytor kicks back and lets the technical people do thier thing Hmm...maybe. Strange we haven't heard of it, though. Maybe it goes by another name? The Elementalor of wind starts doing his thing, coordinating with his fellow phsyic. You don't hear any words, but he's obviously chatting to the air... * Angie darts from place to place, her hands hovering over te controls but not actually touching them. Every so often she stops and looks really closely at a button, screen, or panel. [Mercury] Alright. It seems there's one ship left in the ock that is airworthy! « dock » * DrWebbly looks at the lighting up screens ambling about. "Spaceworthy?" * DrWebbly turns to the party. "Are you aware of the concept of the atmosphere?" * Niri sighs. "I kinda wish I could go!" * AngelAlex242 (~Angelalex@c-24-21-76-75.hsd1.wa.comcast.net) Quit (Ping timeout) ....But it wouldn't be right. It's not the Lunar my dad knew, after all. Can't say I am [Mercury] Will it be space worthy is the question, indeed Doctor. But with us working together and you lack of need for breathing air, a small leak should be acceptable. [Mercury] I'm going to have the sequence begin... we only have one shot at this. Ah well, you see, air only goes up so high. * Ryllan eyes Webbly, "And then?" And the moon is beyond that point. So we have to travel thought an area of no air. This is entirely fatal to unprotected bodies. ...No air. Sounds unpleasant Huh. How about that. Well. You have big areas of nothing, with rocks in. He begins to punch some button and things whirr and hum. If anyone is looking out the window, you will see a set of those cranes in the hangar lifting a small capsule no bigger than a compact model Land cruiser up from a storage bay and onto the end of the ramp. Two large clamps lock it down in launch position. You are aware that you're screwing with every established body of knowledge? ...And that you're almost certainly right, too. What? Now? before dinner? * Niri listens, wide-eyed * Vytor watches the outside preparations with interest * Angie looks up from her work. "Of course!" She claps her hands gleefully, then immediately returns to staring at the console. * DrWebbly sags slightly. "We can't even have a farewell party. My boys are all business it seems." * AngelAlex242 (~Angelalex@c-24-21-76-75.hsd1.wa.comcast.net) has joined #lunar-iog2 That does sort of make sense. Don't they say air is thinner up on top of mountains? * Trune watches as well, "...Just be careful anyway, all right? I mean...I'm sure your bodies can tolerate having no air better than ours can, but still..." Dr. Webbly, I'm not sure they even look like they know HOW to have fun/ It is the tradegy of their youth. Could I have your dice and playing cards, Proffesor? [Mercury] Alright. Now this is the critical part. Of course, not that anyone else around here knows how to have fun, either. I'd like to teach them some fun. * Saki mutters under her breath, dragging a hand across her face. Shiro whines :( * Niri pats Shiro Mercury gets open and points to a window, which slides open of its own will. "We're going to need someone to stay behind and watch for any launch anomalies. It's not that hard..." * Trune glances sidelong at Niri, and shakes his head, "(w) Poor long suffering drama queen Niri." [Mercury] *points to a large display that is now reading COUNTDOWN? Define what makes it anomalous, and what we do to fix it, and I can handle it. * Angie fiddles around a bit more. It seems not pressing the buttons is exacting a terrible strain on her will. Finally she turns away from the device and approaches the doctor, taking his hands in hers. "I guess it doesn't mean much to you, but...you're doing something a lot of people would give anything for! I know you've got a lot on your mind, but...have a look around, if you can? We'd like to know what it's like back home." She b Ah. Do we need to do anything to arrange a communication device, Mercury? [Mercury] The displays here will show the progress of the shuttle down the ramp. As it gains speed, it will eventually be shot into space! But along the way, some of the accelrator panels might fail, and need to revert to backup. That's where you come in. I think I left them back in the truck, doctor. Sorry She breaks into a pearly grin. "And come back safe, OK? I got a lot to ask you still!" * Niri just glares at Trune. [Mercury] So just watch this readout here... and if an area goes red.. hit THIS button. * Tanan pats at his pockets and comes up with a deck of cards. "Ah! Wait. Solitaire fodder. Here, take 'em. I can find another deck easy enough." Mercury blinks. 'Oh yes, I almost froghot. Thanks Doctor." « er fogot » « bah tired. » Mercury opens a sliding panel in the wall, and is presented with a sleek handheld device, with a small screen and a speaker. It's also got two antennas, one on top and another on bottom. He then chucks it underhanded to Trune. * Trune blinks and takes the object, "Er...and this is?" [Mercury] To make it simple, it is a communications device. It's calibrated to operate on several frequencies, with remote programming... in other words, don't call us, we'll call you. Ooh. *Peers over Trune's shoulder at it.* [Mercury] If functionality is restored, it will be our little link to your group. We can track you anywhere on the planet. Whoa...thank you so much! * Vytor (dnwwheeler@71.198.250.222) Quit (Quit: ) Awesome! Can I hold it? Please? * Ryllan nods to Mercury, studying the control panel. Er uh...sure. Careful though. * Trune hands it to Niri. [Mercury] Big if though. I can't make promises, especially with just the two of us. We need more help... I doubt we'd be able to send any. * Niri turns it this way and that, marveling at the buttons and wires and stuff. She seems delighted by the thing, giving it a good looking over before carefully handing it back to Trune. You should be more positive Mercury! * Tanan (~Nehn@24.239.126.40) Quit (Quit: Ugh.) [Mercury] Once we are settled, then we can offer some guidance on collecting our wayward brothers and sisters. We are going to the moon! Every little boy dreams of that, don't they? ...collecting? * Trune takes back the object, grabs a cloth out of his backpack, and wraps it carefully before putting it in his backpack. Mercury laughs, and gets that daring look again. 'Yes! Need a ride to the car, Doctor?" Might as well! I've no lunch to lose! ....Okayyyy. Dr. Webbly has taken optimism to new heights! * Niri giggles * DrWebbly waves to the party. "Thank you all so much for your help and trust!" [Mercury] Alright. Then let's hustle! Brother is already waiting right now. To infinity and.. ah, nevermind. No-one will get the joke. * Angie shakes her head. "Thank /you/! It was awesome." She looks away and frowns. "That's not a very good...not very good parting words. But, uh, that's what you get! Have a good trip." She smiles again. You're welcome, Dr. Webbly! Travel safe! [Mercury] And.. yes, thanks. I know I only just met you, but I'll be listening if you need anything. Hey, that's kind of nice of you! You take good care of Jupiter, okay? Of course. Someone's got to take care of these lads. * Niri gives Dr. Webbly a quick hug! * DrWebbly pats Niri's head with a clink and a whirr. * Zack is now known as Michael I'll be touch! I didn't pull a rip van winkle to suffer from explosive decompression. Mercury floats up from the floor and holds hand out to sir Webbly. * DrWebbly takes the hand. * Niri waves good bye [Mercury] Remember what I said.. if you see red, hit that console quickly! * Trune waves good-bye as well. * DrWebbly waves. "Te Te Eff En!" * Angharad watches them go. And soon the Elementalor shoots through the open window in a puff of crackling wind. ... Te Te Eff En? Ta... taa... forr.... noooowwwwwww! * DrWebbly says as he is whisked away at speed. It's not long at all before Jupiter, Mercury and Webbly are tiny specks below stepping into the sloping vehicle, and locking themselves in tightly for the escape velocity. * Kai-Chan (~kai-chan@217.205.99.146) Quit (Quit: ZZZZzzzz) * Saki watches them leave, then drags a hand through her hair again in agitation. "... are we done here?" I'm gonna miss them.... Nah, we gotta press the button if something goes wrong or something, right? * Angie runs up to the window, pressing her nose up against it. Saki gets her answer, the form of the countdown screen switching to active mode. A voiceover in a female tone utters "Countdown Sequence has been remotely initiated." * Ryllan watches the screen, "So, if it goes red, press that button." "Diverting Power to Electromagnets. Warming Up.........Done. Beginning Stage I." Angie can see the small craft starts to shake a few times back and forth, before satablizing in the grip of what appears to be invisible force. Amazing! And that force begins to carry it forward along the 'rails" on either side. Slowly it starts up, gaining speed and having absolutely no friction with the ground. * Angie whistles softly. She's frozen to the window, not even blinking. * Saki watches with a vague sense of detachment from her position by the door. * Trune watches, mouth agape. There is a few bumps, but it continues, the miles long ramp starts to seem rather short as it's speed picksup. The comptur begins counting. "T-minus 15 seconds to escape velocity... 14...13...12...11..." * Niri watches excitedly As it hit 10, there is a segment of the virtual display flashing red "WARNING. WARNING. Magrail #156 coupler not responding. Backup avialable --- Abort/Switch Mode?" * Ryllan hits the button pointed out earlier by Mercury! * Angharad blinks. "What's it asking?" Ryllan's quick reflexes are breathtaking, as the comptuer is barely finished with the sentence. It goes through some function you haven't a clue about, and the red section turns yellow. "Rerouted power successfully." The craft contues as the tower starts to rumble at the amazing speed, the first countdown still continuing through the hazard. "...6...5...4...3...2..." * Ryllan shrugs at Angharad, "Not sure. I just know what I was told to push." The computer speaks 1, and the launch vehicle is suddenly slammed against the end of the flat ramp, and shoots straight up the hard arc, being fired into the sky like a bullet! "Liftoff Successful!" Whew! Look at that! Up it goes into the skies of the Blue Star, heading for the dead grey moon, a waxing crescent overhead barely seen. * TheStoryteller the readouts begins tracking it's trajectory. Angie recognizes some numbers as declination and azimuth. * Angharad watches the craft dwindle in the distance. Remarkable how it still functions after all this time... * Angie watches the shuttle until it's nothing more than a dot in the sky, then pulls herself away from the window to look at the screens. "We can track their direction of flight from here," she says to no one in particular. 'Destination: Moonbase Alpha.. ETA: 20 hours.' Twenty hours? ...That's a long trip. Considering where they're going? Imean, how long would it take... oh, the Destiny to get up there? I meant more from the lack of air type of deal. * DrWebbly is now known as Huw [Leah] That's just so coool... * Saki very nearly starts to pace. "We hardly have twenty hours to watch the sky. We need to let that ranger know we cleared this place up." She starts checking off on her fingers. "And make sure Leon's not dead. And ... whatever it is Angharad needs to do now." She pinches the bridge of her nose again, roughly. "And I need to sleep for about a day." The shuttle might be hermetically sealed so the air doesn't leak out. *She scratches her nose and frowns* I guess they'd still use the air up, though. Maybe there's a recirculation system? Maybe. Saki's right though. We've...got other issues. I got the samples I came here for. I'd like to go back to the excavation if we're done ehre. * Trune frowns, "The only problem with that is we need to make sure Leon is okay...I don't know if we'll get to him in time if we take you back." * Angie pushes away from the console and heads for the door. "We should find that engine, too!" [Leah] Oh right! Angaharad, why not stay for a little while? maybe Leon knows about more strange plants down south? * Saki shakes her head. "If nothing else, this business with Leon shouldn't last long however it turns out, and in the absence of any leads we'd be headed back to the Academy anyway. You might as well stick around for a quick trip to town." Well, I suppose... Dr. Brandt didn't seem in much of a hurry and if Leon's need help... I can understand if you're eager to get back to the Dig, but they're probably right about the time thing. Maybe you can get a ride back from Takkar? It'd be slower, but the scenery is nice. >> Oh and before your GM forgets, the pool gains 8 MXP for surmounting a puzzle within a reasonable amount of time. The group of you drove me here, so I'm more or less at the mercy of what is most convenient for you. I'll get a ride from Takkar if necessary. * TheStoryteller changes topic to '-=Chapter 9: Mercury Rising | Location: Canaveral Cape Ruins | Pools: 545 §, 16 MXP =- http://storen.rpgcafe.net/IoG/ | OOC chan: #iog-ooc ' Sorry. *She turns around, walking backwards out of the room while talking to Angharad.* Have you been to New Takkar before? You might be happy for the trip. * Saki follows most of the group out, grumbling and in a vaguely sulky mood. I can't wait to see it, myself! * Niri follows Angie Haven't been that direction; no. * Trune follows the group, looking back out towards the horizon one last time, where the shuttle took off into the sky, before shaking his head and continuing on. I'll give you all the grand tour when we get there! Awesome! Actually... no, I tink I may have passed through their before. But it was just briefly... <> And so the group withdraws from mission control for now, leaving the automated systems to track the progress of the launch. Like forgotten sentinels, they go about their duties. And all around the howling wind lies peaceful and dormant. A calm before a familiar dark storm returns... == SESSION END == Tah dah! :D Session Close: Sat Apr 08 02:29:45 2006
